This was my first time using this company, I have driven by numerous times, but like with most things, I am a creature of habit and stick with my usual repair facility. This time, however, I needed a tire repaired and my usual place doesn't do that. There is another place just around the corner on the 2100 block of Shepherd that I used to go to but since they ripped me off a few years ago, I have not stepped foot in there since. The repair was done quickly with a patch as opposed to a plug and at a reasonable price and the service was great. I will definitely consider RMS for anything in the future, should the need arise. read more

These guys just did me a big favor. I drove from Minnesota to TX and on the trip hit a big piece of shredded truck tire. It took out my AC and trashed my bumper. First I found a place to fix my AC which they did, but not without warning me that my AC system was still very vulnerable without the underproduction in place that had gotten damaged by the tire. Someone recommended RMS to me for body work so I went their. Initially the woman advising me was trying to save me $ related to insurance before I found out that the repair was going to take much longer than I had given that I live out of town. I asked if it was possible to just put on protection to keep the components in the engine compartment protected. He said, "give a few minutes and we'll see." About 15 minutes later he drove my car up and said that they'd been able to use ties and the parts already there to hold the protection in place. And the kicker, NO CHARGE. Who said chivalry is dead? Thanks so much for the help! I would've been happy to pay, but I certainly appreciate your going the extra mile, especially for a customer who you've never seen before and may never see again, given that I now live 1200 miles away. This is the first auto care place I've been to since I moved to Houston almost a year ago and I would say I'm glad I went here. I found them through google and what attracted me to them was that 1. they are in a lot of websites' "Top 10 Auto Care" places in Houston, and 2. the location was perfect. I had issues w/ coolant and engine oil leakages (so, not-so-small repairs) and they took care of everything perfectly. They were able to do same day diagnostic tests and sent me an email w/ a report of everything that they had found; the report even had pictures of what must be repaired/replaced w/ the problem areas highlighted. There was a hiccup w/ one of the required parts not making it through to the place, but they still got it done really fast. They would've gotten everything done w/in a day, if it wasn't for the delivery issue. Also, they constantly kept me up to date w/ how the repairs were going. The customer service was awesome here. Now price-wise, I'm not sure if the amount they charged for the repairs was pretty standard or not, seeing that I'm not the most automobile-savvy individual... but I wasn't mad at the cost. I didn't bother getting a 2nd opinion from another garage, but my car-guru partner looked at the report and felt that it was a reasonable price. So, needless to say, I will be going back to this place whenever I need to get my car fixed. read more

I had an issue with my car not starting happening before {a couple weeks ago} and at that time throughout a whole day while running errands the car sometimes would start, sometimes it wouldn't. In one of those "lucky" strikes I drove it to my former go-to car shop {as I was in the neighborhood} and they tested it all but nothing came up. Battery was fine and some other possible things that could be wrong were totally fine too. So nothing found, the car kept starting normally and all was well, I kept going with life and driving away. Now this weekend the same issue happened again. I had my car parked for 2 days without being able to start it, trying to figure out where to take it to fix it. My former go-to car shop is very far from where I live now and since - thankfully - my car was parked at home, I took my time to decide where to take it. The thing is I am always afraid car shops will rip me off as I have 0 knowledge about cars and wherever they say the problem is I'll have to go with it. And I'm SO grateful RMS Auto Care people were actually honest with their work. Towed my car to their shop, and I told my story of this happening before and that most likely it is NOT the battery and that they'd need to dig in for something else. I think I didn't even stay there 30mins and the guy who was checking my car came back with the car working and telling me that the battery of the KEYFOB was dead which is why it couldn't connect to the car and I couldn't start it. Because my car has the standard ignition {put key in and turn it to start} it didn't even occurred to me that any kind of battery was even inside that key fob and that it was needed to make such manual {and ancient! :D} move to work! So that little flat round battery thing that you can buy at the grocery store was the issue. Huge relief! Now the thing is {my biggest concern with car shops} they could have told me it was some more complicated issue and charged me a lot for it and I wouldn't know. I would have just gone with it. But they didn't. I was just charged the battery replacement and the less than 30 mins time they took to figure it out. REALLY grateful to have taken my car to RMS Auto Care, where everything was handled so quickly, with super-friendly staff and most importantly - they were honest about their work. read more

So glad I stumbled across this place. I purchased two black emblems for my Audi Q3 and needed them installed. I went to both Audi Sugar Land and Audi Central and they both said they didn't have the equipment to install it (even though they were Audi parts purchased from Audi). My boyfriend called around 5:30 and talked to Ford, who said he could do it with no charge and we could swing by. They closed at 6 but worked for a good while trying to get the old emblems off and the new ones on and they did GREAT. Everyone was extremely nice and knew what they were talking about. There so many stereotypes with car repair mechanics/shops, and (dare I say) almost as many stereotypes of women who go to car repair / auto care places. In the past I've been ripped off, spoken to like I'm a pre-pubescent child, and ignored. None of this has ever happened to my husband. I think there are some stereotypes still in play in some auto care places. I was hesitant to try RMS due to my past experiences, but when I noticed they were parked on Westheimer in Montrose, I thought, "if they can afford rent here, then they may be pretty good." So, my car and I went in for a 10K mile check-up. Their prices were reasonable, so I returned. The next time I returned, my radio display had ceased working, so I asked them to fix that along with my 10K mile check-up. They called me to say, they could fix it, but it would be costly because it would take time to find the issue, so I would incur lots of labor charges. They recommended that I take it to my Dealer, who may know exactly what's causing it since they've probably seen this before. I was amazed. This man went out of his way to tell me he didn't think he could do a cost-effective job on my car! He wasn't trying to rip me off, ignore me, or speak to me like a child. RMS is amazing! My dealer said I needed new front breaks on my VW they were down to 2s although I had my rear brakes replaced a few months ago and they said I had a while. I needed a sweeping maintenance check for my 12-year old Chevy Malibu, so I was happy to see that RMS was running a special on a 40-point inspection. The results came to my phone and email in the form of an interactive report that guided me through green-yellow-red points on each inspection item. It was so helpful to be able to read through the technician's notes before hopping on a call to give the go-ahead on what was deemed to be necessary work. When I drove off the lot my A/C was working better than it ever has, and I had 4 new brake pads / 2 new tires at a fair price. I ended up having to replace the front bumper but they explained the reasoning clearly, sent pictures, etc, and did a great job matching the paint. Obviously, the first thing I did wrong was to go somewhere else for service! But didn't hold that against me - which was right nice of them. I would not use these people for wheel alignments!! They did a decent job with putting struts on my Lexus, but are clueless when it comes to alignment. I've had to go back in after service at least 5 times. They seem to rely solely on their equipment but need to simply drive the car if we are constantly having issues and the car keeps tugging off the road. Now, my wheel is shaking which indicates that the are unbalanced and I can tell NO ONE drove the car or they would have noticed it. They just roll out cars and hand keys back not knowing if the work is truly satisfactory. Harrison the manager spoke with me regarding my concerns but wasn't around to see the final result and passed me off to Chris Yarger the Service manager who I was previously passed off to by Whitney Hegarty, another shifty talker who acts like a used car salesman. I truly feel these people just let machines do all the work and let their eyes look elsewhere. Sometimes you have to do test drives if someone is obviously unsatisfied SEVERAL times. Now I have to seek out an alignment specialist to finish their screw ups. I am not recommending them for alignments at all PERIOD!! Go somewhere else.. read more
