This place is the best. I had a flat and took it in to have them look at it. It was a brand new tire but I had not purchased it from RMS. But he took care of me like I was a long time customer and the most amazing thing is I went to pay him and he would not take my money. So I came here for Oil change and the guy his name was Christ told me that It can be done for 1.5 hrs or prolly less. So I said okay. I will be at the cafe to wait because it will rain. 2 hours after, I went to the shop and the guy was unlocking my car, I asked him if the car was done, He said no! i said what?! Awesome service and very polite employees. I was quoted $650 by Advantage BMW and told that I needed a new tire and an alignment. I brought my car in Saturday morning to RMS and was told there was a nail in my tire. RMS removed it and patched it completely free and sent me on my way. Really glad I didn't spend the $650! It took some time for them to complete the work but I didn't have an appointment and I image Saturdays are busy compared to other days. RMS Auto Care just earned a customer! Holy moly these are the nicest people ever! I called around to a lot of mechanics to try to get my car checked out, and these guys were hands down the most flexible and polite, and they even shuttled me back home when I dropped my car off. In my limited knowledge of pricing they seemed very fair, and of course they checked out my car free of charge when I brought it back a week later when I felt something wasn't right. They called me a couple days after working on my car to make sure everything was working as intended, and kept me updated every step of the way. Came here due to positive yelp reviews spoke to the manager and provided him pictures of carbon fiber damage. He said no problem come in for an estimate, I stopped by everyone seemed puzzled. They then referred me to their body shop 20 minutes away, no problem I drove down there, again same puzzled look and ultimately they said they couldn't do the job. Why waste your customers time as I drove a total of an 1 hour for absolutely nothing. Just let me know beforehand that it can not be done instead of giving me the run around. I took my Jeep in for a quote on some body work including a windshield and roof panel - It ended up being significantly more than what I had hoped or can afford so I didn't actually have any work done here. I will say that the staff was top notch, super friendly, and willing to go the extra mile without making you feel guilty. I appreciate the level of professionalism they delivered even though the price wasn't right for me (to be fair, it was going to be a big job and I have confirmed this with two dealerships now as I try to trade in what's left of the thing.) Would definitely recommend these guys, just don't expect them to be the cheapest option out there. read more

Summary: Did a good job getting my bumper from dented back to new while working smoothly and quickly with multiple parties. I brought my car in with a dented bumper. An insurance company that was so-so was going to pay to fix it. RMS did a great job on a number of fronts. Glenn was communicative over the phone, understanding, and underpromised and overdelivered on getting my car to their body shop and then back to me quickly. They handled dealing with the insurance company so I never had to pull out my credit card. They seem to have a good relationship with the rental car company that the insurance company provided for me while RMS sent my car out. read more

Thought I found a trustworthy place for my car but I was wrong. Went for an oil change and had a voucher for an oil change and full inspection of all fluids etc with tire rotation for a decent price so I decided to check it out. First red flag was them asking me to leave it for over 3 hours. Hesitant and feeling pressured by the staff but I left my car feeling uneasy. Came back hours later and they were barely doing the work on the car so I had to wait another 15-20mins for the guy to finish. While waiting the guy who was working on it was laughing about something with the other girl at the front and immediately stopped when she told him I was the owner of the car. My car is an older model so I asked the girl if there was anything wrong with the car. She said "no! It's in tip-top shape!" There was no way the car was perfectly fine. Took it home and I get a call 2-3hrs later from the girl saying "oh actually we forgot to tell you but there is something wrong with the car. It has an oil leak but we don't know where it's coming from. We need you to bring it back so we can spray it down and put some dye in it to figure out where the leak is coming from". They went from there's nothing wrong to all of a sudden oh we forgot to tell you the oil is leaking? There's no way you didn't notice that while doing work on it. It was purposely left loose. They tried taking advantage of me. Who knows what they would've said about it when the oil filter was just left loose on purpose. They're scammers. Never going back there and I hope you don't leave your vehicles at this place. It's sketchy and a auto repair shop. Wouldn't be surprised if you left your car and they took parts out to use them on other vehicles and replace them with cheap ones in your car. read more

You gotta go see this dude named Ford when you're having car troubles. I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE that inexplicably started having troubles with the ignition, the horn was broken, and on top of all that, needed an oil change. I took it in for the oil change because I'm broke and couldn't afford to fix all of it. When I brought it in, I casually mentioned the ignition issue because I knew at some point they'd have to shut the car off and turn it back on to move it later. Ford told me he'd take a look at it. *Keep in mind that when I called the dealership to look at my ignition issue, they said it would be $200 just to LOOK AT IT, not even to fix it.* Ford called me later to tell me my car was ready to be picked up. For $50, his guys did the oil change and fixed a really dirty air filter. He said to try my spare key because the magnetic component in my key might be dying, causing the ignition issue (which I had no idea about because before this, I drove a '71 Dodge, where the key was literally just a carved piece of metal... I'm totally foreign to new cars) Got my car back and tried my spare key and it worked like a charm. Ignition issue diagnosed and fixed. Oil changed. On top of that? My horn was working too. Didn't even mention that to Ford, nor did he mention it when I picked my car up. These guys fixed everything wrong with my car for $50, where my dealership wanted $200 just to look at it. I recently had a tire that kept losing air. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was concerned how the tire would hold up over the weekend. Looked on the internet and saw they were the only shop open till 4:00. They were busy and asked me to leave the car so they could look at it properly. I went back about two hours later and they had found the problem ( a piece of wood) and checked out all the other tires. And then they didn't charge me for the service!! Just asked for a review and a chance to continue with my automotive needs. So happy to have found a business that thinks long term customer service!!! read more

Tuesday night I was pulled over for having a headlight out. I got out of the car with the officer and sure enough it was out. Luckily he let me off with a warning :-) So the next morning I went to an auto parts store, purchased a bulb, and armed with a Youtube video, began to do something I had never done before: open my car's hood. Two steps into the video later I couldn't find anything that looked like the part the guy in the video was holding up, and decided for the safety of my car, it would make more sense to just pay someone to change the bulb for me. I called RMS auto and the very friendly guy said to stop by. When they got to work, it was only a minute before they called me over to show me that both lights were working. They checked every other light on my car and everything was fine. I did some research when I got home and it turns out the Prius has a known issue of headlights intermittently turning off. I have owned my car for 9 years and had no idea! The guys at RMS auto could have charged me the labor to remove the bumper (which it turns out you have to do to change the bulb), remove the old bulb and install the new bulb, etc.. and I would have never known the difference. Instead they chose to be honest which is far more valuable as I will be bringing my car here for any issues from now on. She was communicative, trustworthy, and best of all, did a tremendous job on repairing the damage. I dropped my car off at 8:00 a.m, and I had it back by 10! Despite RMS doing the right thing and offering free oil changes for $30 donations to Child Advocates, I will have to update their rating to 2 stars. RMS uses oil changes as an opportunity to get their foot in the door to find other things wrong with your car. One of the guys who helps them out in the office told me this information as well since they really don't make any money off of the oil changes. I got my oil changed in January and I received a report noting that my brake pads in the front and rear were worn by 85%. They quoted a change in brake pads would cost $550. I was also told I need a new air filter and a tune up on my "rear air diffusers". I went to another mechanic and he checked out my car. Turns out, my brake pads are still more than 50% good. In due time, I will need new brake pads and not as urgently as RMS made it sound with their diagnostic report. I won't be coming back here anymore for oil changes. It's not worth the $2 savings (in comparison to the chain stores). I've written to RMS to let them know all of the above. read more

We were looking for an affordable place to get our oil change done and boy did we find it here! I called ahead of time to find out how long it would be and about how much they charge for oil changes (my boyfriend really wanted to keep going to the place he's been going to for a couple years but after showing him the bad reviews that place got and pointing out every time we get our oil changed at that place there's always another problem with the car). Anyway he finally agreed to try somewhere new after hearing it will cost the same amount and telling him about the great reviews RMS has on Yelp. Not only did they quickly get our oil done but they even bolted the plastic that was hanging under our car for a long time. I think one of the times we got our oil changed(at Firestone) they didn't screw the plastic cover back on and it's been hanging there ever since, even after several visits to the same place,it never got bolted back on. I was so happy to see RMS fixed it for no extra charge! We will be back for our next service and will recommend to everyone we know. Nice guys and great service overall. read more

First of all, a friend of mine used to own a car that had frequent problems. It lived in RMS for literally over 50% of the time. My friend said that the RMS staff were very helpful and always attentive to the car so when I needed my car's suspension checked after a minor accident, I took my car there. The mechanic told me that the suspension was fine but that my car needed a tune up. I said thank you and that I would schedule the tune-up another day. I drove only one block away when my car's power steering went out. With a lot of effort, I made it back to the shop and demanded to know what they did to cause this problem. The mechanic said he did nothing to cause this problem that it was due to my car needing a tune up. I told him that one way or another I would know the truth so he had better tell me. He finally confessed that he unplugged a wire in order to make my service light come on to remind me to get a tune-up but that it should not have caused the problem. I told him that he had no right to do that especially after he had already brought it to my attention. After taking out my camera phone out, I made him reconnect my wire while I took a video recording to make sure that he corrects the problem and does not cause another. My car worked perfectly, just like before. However, I did take it to another mechanic off near the Museum district the next day just to be sure. Now I know why my friend's car had a lot of problems. I will never again step foot at RMS. read more

They were tasked with performing an inspection and addressing a problem with the suspension. The engine had a EGR fault, so that needed to be addressed before it could pass inspection. They came back with an very high quote for the work and I said not to proceed with the work, I'd either do it myself or get another garage to do it. We picked up the car and i noticed the brakes were difficult to operate (a whole new problem). Luckily we live close by so i popped the hood when i got home. This is the list of problems i notice by casual observation: 1) The vacuum line to brake booster was broken in 2 places 2) The coolant expansion tank cover was only partially screwed on 3) At least 2 hoses either missing hose clamps or they were not tightened (clamps were hanging loose). By far the most worrying is the braker booster vacuum line, without this there is no braking assistance (which for me is probably not a disaster but for someone smaller like my wife it could be). The part that got broken is a hard plastic, and it is known to get brittle over time. They would have disconnected it while diagnosing the EGR issue. The point is YOU WOULD KNOW if you had broken it. It is the fact that they let us drive away without letting us know which is extremely disturbing. Until i find a trustworthy mechanic I'm going back to doing work myself. I get the feeling they make money of people who are not mechanically savvy, and are not aware of how overpriced this place is. I suggest you shop around. read more

Searching for a dependable and fair auto repair shop in the Montrose area, I asked friends and family for recommendations; RMS was suggested along with a few others. Yelp and Google reviews were consistently strong for RMS, so I gave it a shot. With my windshield leaking at the slightest bit of rain, I needed a quick and effective fix. Neil at RMS worked with me through several solutions until we found the culprit--a spout that had not been properly connected to the drain at the base of the windshield. After an initial solution failed, RMS stuck with me--the quality of their work and attention to detail (the car was vacuumed and detailed when it was returned) are impressive. Let me tell you a story about excellent customer service. For about three days we were seeing a notice "check tyre pressure" in our Fiat 500L, but managed to continually forget to do so. Once we had quarters ready to fill up with air we discovered the culprit- a screw was lodged in the tire. We called our dealership, our car is a 2015, and asked them to fix it for us. They couldn't take us in until NEXT WEEK. I told him "I'd rather not drive around too much with a nail in my tire! (I didn't know it was actually a screw) and he responded with an 'eh' attitude. I then called RMS. I was told to bring it in ASAP, and I shouldn't drive too rough with it. I was there 20 minutes later, and they immediately started to work on it. Within 20 minutes I had my car back- at no cost! I was told to "come back when there is a real problem". I could understand this treatment when a customer for years, but this was my first time! I have taken a lot of business to RMS over the years. Two years ago I bought a new car and, as a result, they have not seen me around as much. I dropped by today for help finding the cause for a persistent tire pressure warning light. Despite my long absence, they treated me like a regular. Within 10 minutes they put the car on the lift, found the bad tire, found the puncture, patched the tire, pulled it around front and handed me the keys. When I asked them what I owed them they said, "that's ok Mr. Wells, bring it back when you have a real problem." RMS has saved me a lot of money in the past. I love RMS, they are honest and will come through in a pinch. Also, in February if you donate $12 to Child Advocates at their shop you get 2 oil changes which rocks. When I was in school I lived a few blocks away and my alternator would always go out. They would drive over and give me a jump, then I would drop the car off at their shop and they would take me to school. I have never felt scammed there and they always tell it to me straight. Like when my air conditioner went out they told me I was better off just putting the money into a newer car and trading this car in. They have all your data in the system and you can get email updates when you need an oil change. There are webcams in the shop so you can watch you car being worked on. read more

Disappointed in this place. I had $1200 of repairs done about a month ago and my check engine light came on today. I took it in for a reading and the guy tells me it's going to be $119 JUST to run the test. A couple things bothered me about the encounter: 1. The smug and unwelcoming demeanor of the man I was working with. Leaning back in a chair, reluctant hello, generally unprofessional. I have had pleasant encounters with other mechanics there, but this guy made me feel like he was thinking "oh, her again..." 2. I understand that the light could have nothing to do with their repairs, but a shop with integrity would do it for free since the work was so recent. For all either of us know, it could be related to the repair. 3. RMS has a coupon for a free check engine light reading on their website right now. The man never even suggested that I check online for deals. Every other shop I've been to notified me if there was a way to save money. Treat customers like you would want to be treated. I'll be taking my car elsewhere. read more
