I was in need of an oil change and starter replacement for my 2013 Dodge Dart. I was giving this auto to my Grand Daughter for her graduation. She and her mother drove from Santa Maria, CA to Apple Valley, picked up the car and drove it home. It began to knock and her mechanic showed her the oil filter had a crimped gasket and the oil ran out and caused the knock. This happened in December of 2024. I had an issue with a generic EVAP code. It goes without saying that this particular code can be difficult to figure out where the issue lies. Jesse and other mechanics were very honest and up front with what needed to be looked at in order to fix the issue. He went above and beyond to fix the problem and kept in very good contact with me. My vehicle was fixed and the EVAP issue was resolved. Pricing was extremely fair. I have called upon this business many times in the past for various other repairs, oil changes and smog checks, not once did I feel taken advantage of or overcharged. BEWARE of CROOKS and SCAMMERS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER. At the start of going in to this shop, they said it would be $400 to ensure my check engine light would come off to pass. Then they said $600. $600 turned into $800. Even after this I was willing to pay because I was Guaranteed my car would be fixed and pass the smog check. EVEN AFTER I CALLED 3 TIMES to see if my car was ready, or for an estimate of when it would be, and received NOTHING. I was still willing to pay as long as the problem was fixed. I picked up my car today because I was told the problem was corrected. I paid the cost and left. Within only 8 miles the check engine light turns back on. So I take it back to their shop to show that the problem isn't fixed. The solution I was met with was being charged ANOTHER $800 for a TOTAL of $1600. VICTOR stated that my car wasn't running before I brought it to this shop. This is incorrect. I had been driving the car regularly up until Monday when I purchased a new car. Victor and THE OWNER stated they would not fix my car or provide a refund even after spending $800 to fix my check engine light, THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER CORRECTED. I didn't expect a full refund. Solely expected the decency of having my car fixed after spending that much money. read more

Have used Road runner for our auto problems since we moved here in 2010. They are honest and hard working and just the greatest mechanics we have had the pleasure to have used. When my car's brakes were making a weird noise we took it o them. They found the small problem, cleaned all the brakes, took the part that had come off and was causing the noise and put it back where it belonged. I asked what do I owe you and they said nothing! Of course we are long time customers, but my husband said that"s not right. So he went and bought them lunch to say thank you. Very honest and hard working. I have taken my vehicle here several times. The prices were good, but the service was on the bad side of so-so. I dropped my vehicles off for simple service (oil change, tire rotation, and in one case a smog) and each time they exceeded the quote time substantially. I was once told an hour, only to return in an hour and be told it would be another hour. My vehicle hadn't even moved from the spot! Today was the last straw. I called Thursday afternoon to ask to have my vehicle scheduled for service at 8am the coming Friday. Told me to come on down at 8 and it wouldn't be a problem. I arrived at 7:55am only to be told it would be 'at least' an hour before they would service my vehicle. I was told matter-of-factly that there were customers who arrived before me this morning and they would be helped first. When I protested that I had made an appointment, they did not budge. I run a busy schedule and my time is valuable. By refusing to honor an appointment and repeatedly giving out substantially inaccurate quote times for work to be completed they have shown they they do not value my time or my business. These guys can't professionally handle something as simple as an oil change. I certainly wouldn't trust them with more substantial repairs. read more

I broke down on the northbound 15, almost to Barstow. Luckily I had AAA! I had a Ford F-150 pulling a popup tent trailer. The truck was on the flat bed and the trailer was attached to the tow truck. The first auto shop I was taken to was closed. This was around 11:30AM on a Saturday. The tow truck driver made a few phone calls looking for someone that would first of all be open, and someone that would look at my truck on such short notice. Although Roadrunner closes at 1PM on Saturdays he told the driver to bring the truck by and they would take a look at it. The tow truck driver dropped off the truck and Jesus and another guy PUSHED my truck straight into the bay. Ten minutes later it was diagnosed and a replacement alternator was on the way! I love Road Runner! The guys here are great mechanics and know what they are doing. Jesus (the owner) always can pin point the problem and gets the work done fast and right. My wife and family get all our work done here that I myself cannot or do not want to do. They always tell you what the price will be, and most times they stick to that. I like that Jesus does not try to nickel and dime you for every little thing wrong with your car. For instance, lets say you go in for a brake job, and when it's done and you go to pick it up, he might say "I noticed your car ABS system is not working right, but you really don't have to fix it right now if you do not have the money, the car will run fine without it. Or...you can wait for awhile...when it starts making noise, bring it in and we will fix it. Or my van was in for an air conditioning problem...he found a wear hole in the condenser...he called me and said bad news steve, that part is expensive...gonna run about $700.00 just fro the part! I said ok, fix it, I have to have air up here in the desert. I went to pick it up, and he said...ok we fixed it...it will be $50.00...i said huh? he said...oh I got the welder down the way to weld it to save you some money.....That was 5 years ago...it still is holding up! These guys took care of me when my car broke down and needed repair. They fixed what was needed at a reasonable price ($120 for hose and fluid replacement) and gave an accurate report on what was happening with the car. They estimated one day for repair. took my car to road runner because they were recommended,for their honesty and integrity.I was having 02 sensors replaced and thermostat,they called and said car was ready but they could not replace top 02 sensor said it was stripped out and just turning in the manifold and now i need to replace whole manifold,i paid 200.00 and when i got home i opened the hood and noticed the breather was just sitting on top nothing was hooked up,worst service worst attitude ever.throttle body was not connected to the breather sensor was not plugged in .I do not recomend these people to anyone ,i put everything back myself no better or worse,i feel i did not get what i paid for totally negative review and the reason i took it there in the first place is because i am disabled and cant do the work myself anymore. read more

I was taking my truck there for smog on the way it started to run funny miss firing when I got to the shop I told the guy what happened he was very nice told me it be a day or 2 before they could look at it no problem so the next day I called just to check in the guy (kid) who I talked to said it was diagnosed and it was internal they needed to remove the Head and check it from there well being an ex Mechanic myself something didn't sound right so I had the truck towed from their shop ( after a $95 charge) to my families mechanic and all it turned out to be was a bad fuel injector it came up on the code reader soon as they checked it this place is a smog check brake shop I wouldn't let them fix my Bicycle the kid in the office thinks he knows it all he don't know S#$T and his smart ass comments when I told him something didn't sound right (if you don't believe me I cant help you) well thank God I didn't believe you stray clear of this place unless all you need is a smog check read more
