I was ready to pull the trigger on buying a (semi new) Subaru Forester or Outback when my housemate reminded me of what a good experience he had buying his outback from Roosales. Although I would have liked something newish (2020 and newer) They had another forester that was a year newer than mine and in great condition. Although the milage was high, I know that they went over the car with a fine-tooth comb, AND it IS a Subaru, IYKYK. I found their prices to be reasonable, and I like that there is no haggling! A few days after I got the car home my headlights went out. I was ready to go buy new lights, but first called Anne and she was kind enough to order them for me. As the weekend got closer and then lights hadnt come in yet, she and her husband Craig offered to come to my house in Tacoma to change them for me over the weekend. After installing the bulbs it became clear that it was the switch and not the bulbs. Craig came to my house a couple of days later, picked up my car, fixed the switch AND filled my tank! I was told that it could only be dropped from $13,994 down to $13.4, which is about what I was expecting. Denis, the finance manager, tried to get me in touch with the bank they finance through, Kitsap. Something between Denis and the bank got misconstrued because the bank was trying to run my credit 30 seconds into the call. After calling Denis back, we agrees to have me come in Friday, March 19th when I got off work. I arrived, was met by James. James was a very nice guy, listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions to the best of my ability. I let him know I was willing to work on the unmovable price if they addressed my concerns on the truck. I pointed out a leak and moisture collecting in the taillights. James assured me he would speak to Denis and get back to me Saturday or Monday. Saturday, nothing. Halfway through Monday, nothing. I texted Denis at 12:06 on Tuesday, the 23rd, then called and got his voicemail. I called the dealership, was transferred and he answered right away. His happy greeting quickly changed. He told me that him and James had not spoken so I relayed my findings to him, he said he will have a mechanic look at it and call me back in 20 minutes or so with some sort of update. I texted him again at 3:30 Tuesday to ask when I might expect to hear from him again in regards to the truck. I was told "hopefully sometime tomorrow morning" I texted Denis again Wednesday, 24th at 11:54 asking if he had heard anything. He calls back and says yes, the leak I had spotted was an oil gasket which was replaced but the truck had sold in the meantime. The communication here sucks. I feel like I was being avoided because if I got the luxury of a response, it was days or hours and hours later unless I called the dealership and was transferred directly.

I purchased a 2015 Kia Optima from Venture Auto Sales on September 13, 2025. Within minutes of…read moredriving it home, the low-oil-pressure light came on. I documented this on video with timestamps. I later contacted the prior owner of the car, a US Service member who confirmed that this issue existed before the vehicle was traded in. Venture Auto did not reply to my requests, until I sent them a certified letter. I tried for several weeks to resolve the situation directly with Omar at Venture Auto. During that time: They refused to take the car back. They required that I pay out of pocket to tow the vehicle to their preferred shop, even though that shop was the same one that had already inspected the car before they sold it. They mentioned restocking fees and other charges as conditions. And tried to force me to comply with his "system" to deal with their issue. They declined to provide copies of their inspection reports outside of court. At no point did Venture Auto offer a straightforward path to rescind the sale, even though the defect appeared within minutes of purchase. In my experience, there was no meaningful good-faith effort to resolve a defect that surfaced immediately and had been verified by the prior owner. I encourage anyone buying a used car from any dealership to be extremely cautious when a dealer says "come back tomorrow," or to once again test drive it immediately prior to completing the purchase paperwork. I am sharing this to help others make an informed decision. This is now going to court and the Department of Licensing and the State Attorney General.

If I were to let apprehension make decisions for me I would have missed a great opportunity to do business with Marius and Justin (I hope I got their names correct). I was greeted in the back of the lot at their office by Marius, who was very warm and friendly. He showed me the car, gave me the keys, and walked away. What a great start. After I inspected the car and found nothing wrong with it I asked him why it was priced so low. He said "People like good deals." After I test drove it, I asked him, "what is the catch?" He simply said, "we have low overhead." Marius seemed genuine and appeared to run a clean and honest business, so he earned my trust. No pressure and very helpful. Upon wanting to take a test drive, it was found that the truck had a faulty battery. Craig apologized and asked if we could come back in a few hours and it would be fixed. That left us time to look at trucks from other lots. When we returned, the truck had a new battery and we did a test drive, loved it and made the purchase. Multiple months later the battery failed under warranty. I couldn't find the battery paperwork and called Craig for a copy. He got back to me the same day and stated he couldn't find it either. He then told me to go to their associated repair shop several blocks away and he would pay for a new replacement battery! Now THAT is customer service and why we've purchased two vehicles from them. It'll be time to buy another vehicle soon and you can bet we'll return to Gene Pankey Motors and the great service that Craig offers! Painful process…read more The car I was interested in still needed some work but they allowed me to come in and test drive and were very pushy that I should buy the car. When I asked if I could put down a payment to reserve the car with the hopes they would fix it that week I was told they would just sell it to someone else. Ended up taking 5 days to get the car back during repairs. Was never offered a rental car or any alternative local mechanics. Asked my sales person if there was anything they could do and was told to talk to the mechanic and that the boss would call me. Never got a call. Had to drive 2 hours with a friend to pick the car up since I'm not local which was frustrating. Overall not a great buying experience would not recommend buying anything here that's not fully ready to drive off the lot. That being said they did do the repairs and the car seems to be running well. Will come and update this review in 8 months or so with how the car is doing.
