Cute little coffee shop with the epitome of a small town vibe! My coffee loving friends and I came to Bodega Bay for a weekend and wanted to check out their best rated coffee shop! He was fast & it was flawless. My triple Mexican Mocha was perfect. The temp was right at 160*. Not to mention it was pretty. Baby daddy has a Black Eye. Coffee with 2 add shots. Baby had a hot cocoa. The pastries looked scrumptious, but I had to pass as I'm getting fat, sitting at home since I busted up my hand March 4. Hopefully I'll get back to work soon - lose some of this tonnage - And be able to go back here and try those lemon bars...they looked pretty freaking good Don't pass this place up. We've had coffee next to the hotdog place down the road here. There's just no comparison. The only thing I could complain about, it was hot in there. But I'm fat, And there was three or four locals in there talking politics. Which I love. And you know how older people are - there always cold. Bless there hearts. So. Bottom line. Good coffee. This place is a must for anyone in the area...heck even out the area! We love bodega and it has become our weekend getaway place, partly because of roadhouse! The bear claws ...holy crud...the bear claws! They are amazing! Baked daily by the owners and just perfect! The scones and coffee cake are also phenomenal! We were there this past weekend and were sad when we got there and their bear claws were sold out but were not disappointed as the coffee is amazing also...plus just as we were leaving Jim brought out a fresh batch of scones. On our way home to Martinez we stopped by and stocked up on scones and coffee cake and found the young lady who bakes to be just as awesome as her dad Jim. Simply an amazing place with amazing service. We live 90 mins away and will drive there for the bear claws coffee and service. Two stars because the coffee is good. The service not so much. I love coffee and always so excited to try a new place. I walk in happy abs chipper and boy did he just crash the mood. I said hello how are you and he didn't reply just asking what we wanted. I asked him about what a particular drink was and he gave me a one word answer which didn't tell me anything about the drink. My husband continued to attempt a pleasant conversation and I could just tell he was miserable. Drives me nuts when people in the service industry act that way. When the guys in my party pulled out the pre-ground coffee from the cabinet in our weekend rental house, I threw up in my mouth a little bit and said, "Let's go for a drive." With the ever-faithful assistance of Yelp, we found our way here for a cup of Joe. Tucked away in a corner, full of warmth and tasteful clutter was Roadhouse Coffee. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw some of the things behind the bar from the Mazzer grinder to the ACF cup that was given to me for tasting a bit of the house brew. Make your coffee at home. Came in here on our 3 year old's birthday to get him and our oldest a hot chocolate. Well for starters it's filthy. The front door is covered in coffee, as well as the inside walls and furniture. And I don't mean small stains, it looks like someone dumped coffee on this place haha. I mean it's everywhere. On top of that, the owner was rude to our children. In the corner are some worn out chairs with hand drums and children's toys, my 3 year old picked up a Mr Potato Head and he immediately snapped "Don't touch the mr potato head." I asked him if it was a decoration and he said "It's my granddaughters." If you don't want kids to touch toys then don't put them on display. A very strange interaction and off putting at best. Discovered this coffee shop on Yelp of course! A group of us 12 girls came in to this teeny tiny little coffee shop. It's a neat place but only big enough to fit about 6 people (yes...really). Loved the service we received here. She was super calm with the 12 of us throwing out our orders at her. She also made me the best triple vanilla latte I've ever had! I'm a very picky coffee drinker and she definitely made me very happy that day. I'm really glad we had her as our barista that day because....... Hippie dude escaping from somewhere brews up some the best coffee outside of Blue Bottle. He really puts love into what he does, taking his time with each espresso pull. You have to try the pastries that are baked fresh each day by his daughter. We had this crazy looking poppyseed number that had at least a quarter cup of poppy seeds in it. Was in the area early yesterday and needed a pick me up as it was very early in the morning. Saw the signs for coffee while making my way to one of the beautiful nearby beaches. Parking was quite simple, although I will admit that I was there at 6ish in the morning. Upon stepping inside, I was hit with a very homey and local feeling, not to mention the mom and pop type owners greeting me. Grabbed a Americano and pastry and killed a few minutes chatting with who I presumed to be the owner (Older gentleman behind the counter). Pastry was baked fresh and was quite good, especially for the price. The Americano was bold and very flavorful, so I was quite happy. I can totally see this cafe being an awesome place to hang out and enjoy many of the items on the menu throughout the day. Unfortunately, I had to make my way out to the beach, so I did not have much time to hang out and experience the ambiance it offered. Will make it a point next time I'm in the area to stop by and enjoy this little hidden gem once more. read more

Unfortunately got to experience the daughter of the owner having to work a Sunday. My husband and I stopped in to get coffee on the way home from a camping trip - we woke up after a night of pouring rain and decided to grab coffee out rather than make it since things were so soggy. Walking into the warmth and lights of a little coffee shop, I was so happy! With an excited smile I pointed to the quiches and said "Can you tell me about those?". The girl behind the counter scowled, looked at me like I was an idiot, and rudely said "Um, they're quiches?". She was so awful we both started laughing and said "We knew that, we just...." and she cut us off and said "I don't know what you want to know!". Girl, there are only a few things we might want to know. The most likely is, what are the ingredients? There was no one else but a couple local guys in the back, I'm not wasting your time by asking a question. She told us, we ordered them, she looked irritated again and said "they take a while to heat up". We were fine with that. Ordered two lattes as well. They were scorched and incredibly bitter (hey hon, might be good to learn how to actually heat milk properly and make good espresso if you work in a coffee shop). Despite her warnings of a long wait, we got the quiches a few minutes later. Burnt on top, cold in the middle. They tasted like they may have been actually good if warmed properly. By the way, when I paid the machine asked if I wanted to add a tip. I wish there was an option for "absolutely f*cking not". I know she was the owner's daughter because she was yapping with the guys after she gave us our food. Gossiping about some local woman. Super unprofessional. You have 4 food items, if someone asks about them, they probably want to just know what they are, and what's in them. Customer service is being kind, answering questions, and actually giving people a good product (by the way, that simple thing would have made you a couple bucks tip...multiply that through the day and there you go). We came in to your store to give you money for what you said you sold, not get glared and bitched at. The fact that you have to work a rainy Sunday in your Dad's shop shouldn't be my problem. read more

Great coffee, Lattes and especially pastries. Woody says, "Best bear claw I've ever had!" He adds, "that is 38 years of experience talking." We would normally make our own coffee at Bodega Dunes campground. but the excellent coffee and fresh baked pastries, almost Cinnabon-like bear claws have us placing our bear claw orders a day in advance.This is the place the locals go - is there a better indicator? How Woody found this place, even he doesn't remember! But it is worth the hunt. My go to choice after coffee is a latté and Jim's older daughter must have the family barista gene. We stopped by after picking up ice and the latté I bought was creamy espresso deliciousness that brought joy with every sip. read more

The mocha was delicious and not too sweet. The scone was very good and still warm! And the staff was super friendly to boot. Pro tip: if you are going to eat don't get there too early as they put out pastries throughout the morning. Stopped by this little spot on our way out of town Monday morning. They only had 2 types of breakfast snacks, some type of scone and something lemon-y - I honestly don't even know what it was. There was a couple in front of in line getting coffees and the husband asked for a piece of pie which was on the back counter and the grumpy old man working there refused him saying he wouldn't take the time to cut it and heat it while there was a line (I had ZERO problem waiting for him to serve paying customers). I ended up finally getting my drink and a scone, both of which were fine, but the man working there really turned me off with his refusal to help paying customers. read more

From the moment we parked, I smelled roasted coffee and freshly baked pastries. And it smelled even better inside! The coffee itself was great - not overly sweet like some coffee shops, and I was able to enjoy the flavors of the coffee itself. I ordered a Mexican Mocha and my girlfriend ordered a White Mocha - both of which were fantastic. There are musical instruments hanging on the wall, bongo drums, small ukuleles, and numerous older games.
