Nightmare from hell. Between this pharmacy and an utterly incompetent veterinary practice, my very sick cat has been without properly dosed medication for 7 days. The saga started when my vet's office ordered the wrong dosage of a transdermal medication. That part was not the pharmacy's fault. I paid to have the CORRECT dosage overnighted to me on 1/7. The pharmacy put a hold on the prescription because the dosage was different. Understandable. HOWEVER...today is 1/10 and I have no medication, despite a customer representative openly lying to me on 1/9 by stating that the medication had been physically packaged and was being overnighted that day. It was not. Apparently, it was shipped today, but I can't actually prove that because the UPS tracking number I was given is invalid. I should have known better than to trust a pharmacy associated with the veterinary practice that treated (past tense) my animals. read more

The initial order can take some time, but once you are in the system, the refill process is easy and can be done over the phone through the automated system. They have a "Vegas Hot" UPS shipment that is here practically overnight once the pharmacy has processed it. From refill to arrival, the timeline is about a week. The UPS box is also adorable and so cute. Customer service is friendly and I have even spoken to a pharmacist when I had questions. They compound chemo and hyperthyroid medicine for my cat. Both are in a liquid form with chicken flavoring that is dispensed via a dropper and into wet food. Having the option of giving a liquid over a pill is a real lifesaver because this cat hates pills. I should have reviewed this site prior to using Roadrunner services. I recently ordered my dogs medication for arthritis, he is 10 yrs old and suffers. I placed the order and chose 1-2 day delivery for an extra 19.99 because I knew I would soon be running out and I wanted to make sure I received meds in time. Two days later I track package and they say it will be delivered in two more days. Ok so I call the pharmacy and she explained " oh we don't promise 1-2 day delivery on the weekend". I place my order on Wednesday!!!! Never mind that was 20 bucks out the window! Now I called my vet and they will give my dog medication for the next two days but of course I have to pay for it at 14 bucks a pill. Mind you my dog has been in pain since. read more

My vet called and explained she would be submitting a prescription for my dog through this specialty pharmacy and did on 2/19/20. She said they would call me to discuss before filling and obtain payment. They never called so I called my vet back and got the number. Here it is 3/5/2020 and when I called the rep was nice enough and confirmed the prescription, advised he did not know why I didnt receive any contact but would follow up. However there was some lady in the background laughing it up and cackling, having a great time it sounded like, rather disturbing and rude while Im trying to do business over the concern of my dog. Pet Owners Beware!! If you are looking to have your medications delivered between 6-10 business days and then sent to the wrong address, this is the pharmacy for you. My veterinary oncologist called in a prescription for a much needed cancer medication for my dog, and not only did they take 3 days to call me about said prescription to get it filled, they then informed me that it would take 6-10 business days before I'd get that prescription. After two weeks, I was finally sent an email confirmation with tracking information and came to find out that they sent it to an address I asked them to remove and replace with a new address. So now I still don't have said medication and was told after calling customer service to wait for a claims specialist to call me and fix the problem. This is the worst veterinary pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. I would definitely not recommend using them for any of their services. read more

I have been using Roadrunner Pharmacy for many years. I've always been very satisfied with their customer service as well as their products. They are very good about making a flavor or formulation that is tasty for pets and they can even mix flavors! (My dog liked apple/marshmallow for his medication). They usually give you a free toy with each order and they are always friendly over the phone and in person. I recommend them to many people and will continue using them. I recently resigned from RR, but as a former employee & current pet owner my cat and dogs meds were very inexpensive as is, but our quality & sterility is at a higher standard than most compounding pharmacies. When you use roadrunner you will feel like family. Primarily since everyone at RR has pets themselves. We try to give you the best value for our base price if we can. Overall In my personal experience our meds have worked amazingly for my furrbabies Kitty & Polar. FYI if you have a cat, ask your vet for our transdermal gels! I then ordered it from another pharmacy who had no trouble filling it. But the pending charge is still in my account and they refuse to remove it. They said it's up to the bank. I was so completely upset. My cat was sick and needed "a compounded Rx" so sent to Roadrunner because they were close by. Not only did it take 2 days for them to call me for my payment but then 2 more days to ship it 2 BLOCKS on a Friday. Monday was not only a Postal holiday but also one of theirs and so did not receive the Rx until Tuesday. I had to put my cat down Saturday because I just couldn't/ wouldn't see her in such pain! So, now I have a RX I can't even use! I realize she was a Cat but part of my family and this did not seem like even a hint of customer service! This pharmacy has saved my cat's life - they're a compounding pharmacy, so they can make a transdermal gel (absorbed through the skin - you just apply it to the skin inside their ear) for my IMPOSSIBLE TO PILL cat. They're responsive, friendly, and accurate - and if I renew the prescription using their automated phone system and it has lapsed, they call my vet and get it taken care of in just a couple of days. Oh. MY. GOD. I STILL do not have my cat's meds. Why? Because THEY sent it to the wrong address. But is that the end of it? They'll resend it right away? NO. If I could give ZERO I would. I get a rude CSR (janine? Janet?) who informs me that they'll "look into it" and call me back about it. And proceeds to GRILL ME about when I called and when I changed the address, etc. Then put me on hold for the third time. THEN when Janice or whatever her name was comes back and I tell her I don't know what the problem is ON THEIR END, they just need to get me the meds, she gets rude and says, YOU NEED TO TALK TO MY SUPERVISOR and slams me onto hold AGAIN. Then the supervisor does the same thing!! OMG! I can't believe I was just treated like this! Amazing. In a BAD way. I don't know what has happened to Roadrunner, but just don't bother with them. My Vet (in CA) recommended Roadrunner Pharmacy (in AZ) for a compounded Rx for my aging and ailing dog. This experience turned out to be a nightmare involving at least 6 phone calls on my part and continually being placed on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time (all while I'm trying to see my own patients). I know my Vet's office had to call at least 3 additional times. During the course of this fiasco, I learned that they are unable to tell you the amount you will be charged until AFTER you provide a credit card number; who willingly gives a cc number for some undisclosed amount of money ?? !! I finally relent, because I need the medication for my dog, and provide my cc number - only to then be told that they cannot tell me the amount I'm going to be charged until they create an invoice - which won't be till next week because it's now 2:30 PM on the Friday of a long holiday weekend. Did I mention that this all started around 10 AM ?? I finally think everything is in place and my dog will get his medication by the middle of next week - only to get a call from my Vet's office (which is now closed for the weekend) saying that Roadrunner Pharmacy has decided to cancel my order !! Not sure why my Vet did not use our local compounding pharmacy in the first place, but if she had - I would already have the necessary medication in hand rather than having to wait and start all over again next week. TERRIBLE customer service; EXHAUSTIVE wait time on hold; relieved not to be doing business with this poorly run company !! I have been fighting with RoadRunner for almost 2 years. We are on autofill and the medicine never gets here on time. I always end up paying for expedited mail. Today I was told they had to ask the Vet if they could refill it. It has 7 refills on it. Then I was told it took 7 to 10 days to make and that couldn't be helped. I asked why they don't make it earlier since it's on auto-refill they should know when it is due. I ask them do they use a computer to keep up with orders or do they just flip through a pile of papers to find what to make? Then they whispered, which I informed them that I could hear. So now it's 10 days to make the medicine and probably 7-10 days to get it shipped to us. I have reported this to the Vet and it is a large organization so if they are ignoring them they will lose a lot of money. I am currently the owner of a 13 1/2-year-old dog that we have fought to keep alive and make healthy. At this point, I consider them not having the prescriptions ready not only a breach of contract and a health threat. I have not contacted an attorney but at this point, the reasons given for a pharmacy to not fill medications do not apply. 1) There is an active prescription on file, 2) it is not a narcotic or pain medication that my 12-pound dog is abusing. 3) the pharmacist feels it is in the best interest of the pet not to fill it. A few days later, received a call from Roadrunner that they needed our credit card information (again???). Two days later, received another call from Roadrunner saying our vet declined the order because one of our dogs needed a checkup. Dog just had a checkup. Vet called in order already. I was directed by the doctor herself to purchase medication from a pharmacy called Roadrunner pet pharmaceuticals (Roadrunner pharmacy). Contacted the pharmacy on a Monday, called them on a Thursday and was told the medication was just sent out and I probably would not receive it until the following Monday or Tuesday. All the while my poor parrot is suffering from labored breathing and is constantly moaning and coughing in agony. In this 7-day period that has transpired, I can see the poor bird's health deteriorating. The pharmacy was well aware of the dire need for the expeditious delivery of the medication from both my veterinarian and myself, yet they failed to deliver the medication in a timely manner. I was charged nearly twice the amount for medication that I could have gotten much cheaper at a local pharmacy. Had I known how expensive Roadrunner pharmacy is, I would have requested the vet give me a prescription I could have taken to the local pharmacy in the first place. $110.35 for ten packs, vs $60.00 at local pharmacy. The medication is for a chronic condition, so it must be given for the rest of my cat's life. I can guarantee you Roadrunner pharmacy has gotten their last dime from me. Roadrunner is very dishonest as they created fake invoices for payment months after I paid their original bill for medications in full and in person, pretty sure what you sent me in the mail is against the law. Weeks had gone by from when I paid in full (this will be important shortly) and in person when I started getting phone messages from Sharon, over and over in a annoying tone and delivery. I have been picking up medication at Roadrunner for sometime now and this time the medication changed so I never paid attention to the amount. They presented the bill, took my card and swiped it and I signed it. We are not talking earth shattering amounts of money. Don't you think if this is the case of the wrong amount I would of squared up with you the next time I was in? In the mail today I received a FAKE invoice stating that I have an account PAST DUE. Roadrunner created a FAKE invoice that makes it look like I carry an account with them and that I had only made a partial payment when I picked up the medication. I have never had an account in which I owe money to them.They created two invoices with a Process Date and Due On date making it look like I was 30 days past my due date for payment. Roadrunner you should be ashamed, embarrassed and nervous. Who believes that they extend payment terms to customers?????? Anyone???? If this was true where on the invoice is the terms of payment agreement? I paid you in full, you made a mistake and instead of handling it professionally you acted like a sleezy bill collector and as a result you falsified an invoice in an attempt to collect. What other things are you cutting corners on? Your so dumb that on your "To our valued customer" letter you sign off from Accounts Receivable Deptment, you can't even spell Department correctly. I am extremely unhappy with this pharmacy. I ordered a prescription on Friday October 27 and paid for Saturday delivery. The prescription showed up on Monday. Roadrunner refused to credit my Visa but would only credit my account. I let them know it is doubtful I would need the credit as my cat is critically ill. They said that since the delay was due to UPS and they shipped on time, they can only credit my account and not my Visa. I viewed that as poor customer service and told them I will NEVER use their pharmacy again. I sent them an email and today I received a call back. They reviewed my situation and will credit my Visa for the shipping amount. This is what I expect in Customer Service! I think these people pretty much rock! I was paying a small fortune in med costs (thanks to my stupid vet), until I discovered Roadrunner and got them to call the prescription there. Now I get everything by mail for a fraction of the price. They are very nice to deal with. Orders come quickly, though they will expedite for a reasonable fee if you need your order faster. I love that they send a little toy for my kitty with every order. Nice touch! My only issue that dropped a star off is that the pricing for a smaller quantity seems to be more than for larger volumes. I don't understand that logic at all. They had quoted me a price for 50ml, then my vet only authorized 10ml. it ended up costing more. that to me was a little wrong. all in all, happy customer though. read more

The people that answer the phone at Roadrunner are always very nice and courteous. The process is easy and the delivery prompt. BEWARE, however, that they have a minimum order amount of $42.95 per order -- so, if the prescription is for less than that, they will give you less but still charge the same amount -- even if you have refills. The trick is to ask them to give you the maximum amount allowed for that price, which will just reduce the number of refills you have. I was pretty upset to learn this after ordering from them for such a long time (my cat takes two prescription medicines a day). This is something they should tell you at the very beginning (you might have to ask your vet to write the prescription differently, but it is worth it). I recently ordered some Heart medication for my dog, I was informed it would arrive in 3-5 business days. I informed then I would like it earlier and was told I could have it by Saturday for additional cost of $25, Saturday has come and gone and no medication, which now the earliest date would be Monday delivery. Their website advertises FREE NEXT DAY SHIPPING on NEW ORDERS And on REFILLS. This is false advertising at its best. The numerous persons I spoke with at Roadrunner Pharmacy stated that they NEVER PROVIDE FREE SHIPPING, NEXT DAY or OTHERWISE. Their representatives are unbelievably incompetent. I have been struggling to get an order completed for seven days now. For starters, they seem to be incapable of performing simple math. My dog's prescription was for two pills per day. I requested a 3-month supply. 3 months = 90 days. 2 x 90 = 180. 2 pills/day x 90 days = 180. Despite numerous call back and forth between Roadrunner Pharmacy and my vet, the Roadrunner rep maintained their ridiculous argument that a 3-month supply would be 120 pills. Ugh! When they finally got the quantity right, they said I would receive the order in 7-10 business days. Really?! What happened to the FREE NEXT DAY SHIPPING plastered all over their website? The rep said they NEVER DO FREE SHIPPING but since my order had been delayed and fraught with complications, they would make a ONE TIME EXCEPTION and ship my order FREE NEXT DAY. I explained that I live in a remote newly developed area and that although I receive FEDEX deliveries weekly, to my knowledge, UPS had not yet delivered to my area and I was concerned my address would be rejected as invalid. They assured me they would take care of it. Guess what? Yep, the NEXT DAY I received another call from Roadrunner Pharmacy stating that my address had been rejected by UPS as invalid. I repeated the previous day's conversation and the Roadrunner rep stated they would let UPS know the address is indeed valid. I was also told I would receive an email confirmation of my order with tracking information for the shipment. Of course, I did not. I contacted Roadrunner Pharmacy to ask WHY I had not received the promised email. Their response, "We do not have an email address on file for you." Hmmmm... You'd think they might have asked for that at the same time they requested all my other demographic data. But that would be too much to expect from a company that is clearly incompetent in every sense of the word. After this request, I get this ridiculous email from Roadrunner Pharmacy with NOTHING but a TRACKING NUMBER. No order confirmation, no invoice, nothing. Just a tracking number. I'm surprised by all the poor reviews here! Called Monday afternoon to provide payment and shipping info for the script that my vet had called in late Friday. Although wait times to get someone on the phone are a little long (waited about 10 minutes both times I called), the staff are very helpful once on the phone. So info was provided Monday afternoon, and my cats medication arrived two days later! Very pleased with how quickly the order was processed and shipped. They even included a free kitty toy, though I chose not to give it to my kitties given that it had a warning on it regarding cancer causing chemicals. The thought was appreciated though! read more

Two years later - and the more things change, the more they stay the same. My current pooch was diagnosed with Valley Fever about 18 months ago. (Grrr.) In my review two years ago, I closed with stating that if the need arises, I am thrilled to know Roadrunner is there. Sure enough - more Fluconazole. More fast delivery with a toy or treats! More stellar customer service! I noticed a very mixed bag of reviews here for Roadrunner - but am thrilled to say my experience has remained stellar. A few years of meds for the amazing Husky, a year and a half (and counting) with my sweet little Lab mix - and EVERY contact with Roadrunner has been positive. Half of the time they are good and the other half they are very poor. I believe they need help in organization. They are great in customer service and friendly, they really try. They always have excuses on why they can't find a fax, a prescription. They paid for sending a prescription out overnight because they didn't send it out on time. This time I called in a refill yesterday, they had to fax the vet. They were going to call me back, never did. I called again. They said they would fax the vet. I had already called the vet. The vet said they faxed it back yesterday with 2 refills and that I was all set. One thing they do that is very sweet, they always send a toy or snacks for my pup. EDIT: I gave Roadrunner another shot and placed an order for my cat's medication last Friday. When I called today to check on the status of the order I found out they tried to refill an old prescription that had expired over a year ago. For the past week they've been waiting on a prescription renewal from my vet for an expired prescription with no refills instead of filling the current, most recent prescription on file. I even had to eat the cost for Saturday delivery because we've been waiting so long for a refill my cat is now completely out of medication and covered in skin lesions. I've used this pharmacy for a few years now and was always impressed with the quick service and great quality of their products. I've tried everything to get my cat to take her medication: mixing it with food, wrapping pills in lunch meat, getting the medication as a pricey injection through our veterinarian, you name it. Roadrunner offered me an affordable way to make giving my cat her medication totally painless, and they also send free toys with their orders! I'm sorry to say I probably won't be using Roadrunner Pharmacy again, though. Recently our veterinarian wanted to try a new medication and I chose to have it compounded from Roadrunner without even giving it a second thought. I trusted them and had such incredible experiences with them in the past. But when I went to give my cat her medication, she reacted the same way she would if it hadn't been compounded at all: she vomited and spent the next 10 minutes drooling. To their credit, they did send an additional syringe of flavor to mix in with the medication make it more palatable but it really didn't help. When I called the next day to ask what the issue could be, the representative told me the medication in question (gabapentin) was "just naturally really bitter" and there was nothing they could do. That's frustrating for me, because making "naturally really bitter" medication taste good to my cat is exactly what I expect a compounding pharmacy to do. It's what they've always done in the past. And when they failed to do this, they also refused to offer me a refund. They have an absolutely non-negotiable "no return" policy which is apparently also a "no refund" policy. I could have gotten bitter gabapentin I knew my cat wouldn't take for about $10-$15 at my regular vet. The reason I paid almost $60 is because I trusted Roadrunner to compound it in a way that my cat would accept. It's unfortunate but their refusal to work with me on this issue is why I will be using a different pharmacy moving forward. read more

I called the customer service line as 2.5 weeks have passed, I then got put on hold for 20 mins and I had to leave so I hung up with no answer. RoadRunner was *very* quick to call me to get my shipping information and CC info for billing after my vet's office called in the Rx we needed to try to save the eyes on two foster kittens with severe feline herpes ulcerations who were at risk of losing one eye each. Because the meds needed to be shipped on ice, I opted for overnight shipping and paid RoadRunner an extra $16.95 on top of the $160 cost of the meds for the two little girls. The agent on the phone was very good about going over the difference between the billing and shipping addresses, as I was having the meds shipped to my work address (a spay/neuter clinic). The next day by 3:00 p.m. when the meds hadn't arrived, and UPS is generally at our workplace by 10:00 a.m., I logged in to the UPS website to see an 'exception' for the package, and in calling UPS found out that RoadRunner had used my home zip code on the parcel instead of the work zip code. I was livid, because the only way to get the package, which I needed THAT day to help try to save their eyes was now to make my way to the regional UPS will call center in Northbrook, a suburb an hour north of Chicago where I live, and I don't have a car. So I hired a Zipcar for three hours, as it was a Friday evening in rush hour. Upon calling RoadRunner seeking reimbursement for my trouble and costs, I was dismayed to find out from not one, but two supervisors that their hands were tied by some idiotic corporate refund policy such that they would only give me my overnight shipping fee back. They would recognize nothing of my time or cost needed to pick up a package that was undeliverable due to THEIR error. And here's why: Their solution, which blows my mind because of how much more it costs them, would have been to re-compound this expensive medication ($160), and then pay UPS for a Saturday delivery at $45. They would follow a policy that costs them over $200 rather than simply refund me an extra $30, which was all I was asking for. Never mind my time sitting in traffic when I'd rather have been home, which is worth quite a bit. The agent was even a bit accusatory ("You already rented the car?") before sharing with me what would have been their solution. I told her that wouldn't have been acceptable because I needed the meds THAT DAY, which is why I paid for overnight shipping in the first place. DUH!!! I sent a letter to RoadRunner's director of business development, but not holding my breath that he'll care one iota anyhow since they have this inane refund policy in place. Gimme a break - your supervisors don't have any leeway for refunds in a situation where RoadRunner's at fault?!? We have used Roadrunner Pharmacy to fill/refill our dog's prescription for flucanozole for several years now without a problem. The packages arrive within the estimated ship time, are packed well, and always include a pet toy - thank you! I'm a little baffled by the variable customer reviews, and wonder if there are some inconsistencies with internal systems and processes. Am also aware that reviews posted on Yelp don't go through any sort of verification process. So, as a currently satisfied customer, I might suggest that Roadrunner Pharmacy consider getting accredited with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB imposes standards for business accreditation, offers a mechanism for resolving complaints, and posts customer reviews that have been verified. I would be happy to post a positive review on the BBB website for Roadrunner Pharmacy! read more

I have a 13 year old cat named Shadow. She was feral when I got her but over the years she has become a much loved member of our family. However, she has always struggled with anxiety until she began taking Amitriptyline. But it was always difficult to give Shadow medicine and until I started getting it in a paste form from Roadrunner. Soon I will also be getting a liquid form of Amilodine for her blood pressure. The folks at Roadrunner are always so helpful and nice and they're services are very customer friendly. Thank you Roadrunner. You guys are AWESOME. read more

Terrible customer service. Two times running did not fill my order. Required multiple return calls the next week with long wait times to reach assistance. Ultimately repeatedly asked for supervisors and they were not provided. Was told supervisors would return calls and this was never done. Was told medication would be shipped overnight due to failure to process order, this was done once but not the second time. If you have daily medication needs for your pet, I regrettably must warn you away from this business. Including small toys in the package is a nice touch, but if you are not reliably filling the medications, priorities must be changed Update 1--Received message from customer service 1/15/18 through yelp and the response they made to review. At their request provided my name and phone number. I still have not received a return call. Their response does not reflect resolution/customer recovery. Update 2--Customer service manager called. She was quite friendly and apologetic for the multiple delays. Their reaching out is appreciated, and they indicate that they are transferring to a computerized system (currently paper based) that may address these concerns. Such is set to roll out in March. If you choose to do business with them in the future, I strongly advise checking to see if they remain paper based in their processing of orders. While I thank Jody for her effort, I do not feel comfortable returning as a customer in the future. read more

I have a basset hound with horrible dry eyes just like me except I can get over the counter stuff for me but my baby needs special meds. My vet sent in the script, the pharmacy called me right away to get the order started, the price wasn't bad either which is one thing I was concerned about. I want to say I got my first order in two days sur ordering it since it was later in the day, I was beyond excited to get her started and couldn't believe how fast it came. They work like a charm no more crusties around the eye. Since then I have had many more great experiences from them they sent my baby a birthday gift with her order she was excited and loves it. To me that shows how much a company cares about their clients the 4 legged ones or any other non human ones lol. I just got my latest order and I found another gift for her she got all excited. I posted a note earlier but since it posted twice I tried to delete one and ended up deleting both of them. I will not repost the old note because it was long and detailed. Suffice it to say, I contacted Roadrunner Pharmacy on Dec 15 and finally canceled the order on Jan 2. From Dec 15 until Jan 2 I talked to 6 different people (Candice, Tony, Maureen, Jodi, Sam and Robin). Jodi told me that she is the Customer Services Manager. Even though they charged my credit card on Dec 20, the prescription was never processed. They did say that they would refund the payment but it would take 7-10 days. I contacted another local pharmacy and the order was ready for pickup 5 hours after it was phoned in and cost over $20 less than Roadrunner was charging. read more
