I came into the restaurant asking how long my order would take, she said 10 minutes. Although there were chairs and tables under an eave, I chose to go to the car. Faviola brought the food to me and it was sprinkling outside! She even came back and gave us extra utensils when she realized there were two of us. All the while smiling:) I ordered via yelp because we were starving and easily this restaurant has their menu in organized and visually appealing. Their descriptions and the variety of selections and customizations on point. My husband said he wasn't hungry but then saw the food and we scarfed it all down. He gave it 8.5 and said would come back. I ordered pickled vegetables which I thought was going to be onions but I think it's actually cabbage. Not my preference so I will take that home to the parents. Did order yogurt dip- husband was a fan. The chicken thigh and filet were so tender. I had put a note on the order for medium rare. I wouldn't call that medium rare but it was tender nonetheless. I'm sad I had to pay extra for a half of a Roma tomato, salad and lavash- the lavash I saw it in the add-ons menu so I assumed it wasn't in there. Ended up with so much lavash. No need to buy extra. The entire thing came up to $63-ish. The food was 4/5 but service was 5/5! I know this economy has everyone struggling. This was probably the most I have spent on Mediterranean food. I would have expected $45-$50. We just came back from Turkey so this would have costed us $15-$20 USD. Portions for rice and meat were good though! All in all- would come back!

Dinner was romantic, food was excellent, the wait staff took really good care of us. When I found Dio Deka I thought I had discovered a new restaurant, but I was surprised to find that the place was well established over 22 years. The place felt more like a traditional steakhouse, which I was later told was indeed a former one. We immediately were welcomed by friendly staff members and a "Happy Anniversary" card at our table. I noticed that the many tables were recognized by special occasions, which was thoughtful. Our table was in an intimate corner next the fireplace. The fireplace was not lit since it was a warm Spring day. That said, I could see our table being a highly requested one during colder days. Overall service was top notch. Food came out in a timely manner. I never felt that we had long gaps between dishes. Our waiter was awesome. Don't remember his name, but he was a young gentleman who was friendly, attentive, and helpful with food recommendations. One of the managers stopped by, and he also was very hospitable. I enjoyed everything I ate... They kicked us off with avocado pistachio jalapeno mousse amuses-bouches. We got spanikotiropita and the Horiatiki "Village Salad" to share. I liked that the spanikotiropitas were small bite sizes, and the phyllo dough was so crispy. Their horiatiki was what I expected in a classic Greek salad, but the fresh feta and crisp veggies made it a notch above the rest. It was addictive, and I could eat plates of it. We hit home runs with the entrees: moussaka and the lamb shank. I am a huge fan of moussaka and thought that Dio Deka's was delicious. I also liked how they built the moussaka layers in a cast iron dish, which kept the moussaka warm and gooey with every bite. The lamb was tender and fell off the bone, and it sat on perfectly cooked al dente pastina. I wish I had room for dessert, but we were treated with chocolate mousse mignardises.

The bar is busy and loud, but the outdoor patio is absolutely charming. The waiters and the patrons behaved elegantly. There is no rushing, dining is at a leisurely pace here which is nice. Dio Deka features Greek food and it is pricey. My moussaka was good, but not great. It could not hold a candle to the moussaka served in Greek town in Chicago. I don't know why. The chef definitely skimped on the béchamel and the meat had some unusual flavoring. My husband's pork chop was a bit dry but the apple sauce compensated a bit. The lamb chops served at our table were well received as were the steaks. The big disappointment was the dessert. It was very bland creme caramel and most of it remained uneaten at our table of seven adults. So, the elegance is incomparable, and the setting is romantic. But the chef needs to step up his game.

Not only was the order ready on time, but the food was exceptionally tasty, incredibly fresh, and prepared to absolute perfection which is not easy to pull off for a rushed takeaway order. We ordered Koobideh for a small family gathering, and it was just perfect. The koobideh was cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, juicy, and quite literally melted in our mouths. Every bite tasted fresh, well-balanced, and made with care, as if it were prepared for a dine-in experience rather than a late to-go order. The hosts deserve a special mention for their absolute 5-star hospitality. Accommodating a last-minute request with such professionalism and warmth says a lot about this place. Pair that with 10-star quality food, and you've got a restaurant that truly stands out. Ziba Persian Restaurant is reliable, consistent, and clearly takes pride in what they serve. Highly recommended for gatherings, last-minute plans, or anytime you want truly authentic, high-quality Persian food. We'll definitely be ordering again.

The rice was great (a lot when it's the only side) the onions were yummy which is huge for me bc I never like the onion "salad" restaurants usually give. This one they properly "rinsed" the onion and it wasn't too sharp with a nice cilantro top note. I tried the chicken from my husband and wasn't too blown away personally but he and the other person with us that ordered it loved it. Price wise you get a solid portion so even if it might be more than some other places I don't think it's unreasonable. If you're really on a budget you can get a single koobideh for I think it was $9 which I wish I did bc I had a lot of rice left over but not much koobideh for my left overs the next day. Space is small so just keep that in mind if you plan to go with a larger group. We were a good of 6 and we barely made it work. The staff is great but it is more a self service (seat yourself, order at kiosk, get your water) with them bringing the food out to you.

We arrived an hour before closing. We were greeted with smiles. Lots of open tables. Cool music playing and restaurant was nice and clean. Walked straight to the kiosk and looked through the menu. While looking at the menu, we seen one of the waitresses with two HUGE plates of food. We asked if one of those was a dish and they said yes. I'm glad we seen that cause I would have ordered a dish for my wife and a dish for myself. The plate was so huge, my wife and I shared 1 dish and left full! We ordered the combination plate of beef kebab and chicken breast. I thought the chicken breast was going to be dry but it was hella juicy and seasoned very deliciously. The beef kebab was delicious as well. After ordering that dish, the lady in the front asked if we liked "Tahdig". I didn't know what it was and she said it was crispy rice. She gave us extra Tahdig for free. Once our food came, we noticed the Tahdig. My wife and I took our first bite together. Honestly, very very very good. It's like a crispy rice pancake. Taste of Persia exceeded my expectations and I'm very glad we have something so delicious (that's not Asian) close to us. I will be returning here more often. It might be on a "sketchy" side of San Jose but it's definitely worth a visit.

This was more than enough food for two people. The restaurant itself is huge, they have a big shaded outdoor area that can host events, an indoor event area, big dining area, bar and multiple big flat screen tvs to watch the World Cup. After ordering, they gave us some nice warm bread, I think it's called sabzi khordan. It came with some butter, thai basil and raw onions. The bread had a firm outside but fluffy inside, very good. For the main dishes, the shahsavar ghormeh sabzi with meat is a dish we saw recommended on multiple platforms (i.e yelp, reddit, google) to try. It is a dish made with beef, herbs, kidney beans, sundried limes, parsley, green onion, leek, fenugreek, salt and pepper. This is not a familiar flavor to us, but it was still enjoyable. The beef was tender, kidney beans were not overcooked, had a slight tart taste but went well with the rice they had. The rice was regular basmati rice and saffron rice mixed together. The portion size was big. The shiraz lamb shank with baghali polo is a lamb shank served with dill and saffron rice. The lamb was nice and tender, cooked well. The juices from the lamb shank soaked into the rice which was very nice. The portion size was also big. Since we were at a persian restaurant, we usually also get a skewer of some sort to try. We got one isfahan koobideh kabob which is a ground beef skewer. It was fine. Overall, the food here is quite good with generous portions, will be back again to try other dishes.

Came here for Mother's Day excited to try Stone Stew and left very disappointed and upset…read more First of all, always ask for a copy of your receipt. The owner has lots of hidden and outrageous charges. We were very disappointed that they charged us $37.99 for 1 skewer of koobiedeh & 1 skewer of chicken kabob with bone ($10 extra), oily rice and the smallest bbqed tomato. $6.99 for 1 cup of "homemade" lemonade sour and with crunchy sugar on the bottom. $13.99 for the smallest microwave reheated (cause even the plate was hot) kashkeh bademjan. And even more disappointed when we ordered a togo order of 1 skewer of chicken kabob & 1 skewer of chenjeh and being charged almost $60 dollars!!! You can see this on our receipt (that thankfully my mom asked for because when the bill came out we were shocked). - We asked the owner about all the charges and she just said "that's our menu charges" and walked away. The prices are outrageous for the quality, portion sizes and cheap corny decoration/table settings. Like plastic table coverings, pitchers for water, smelling piping in the bathrooms, servers running (literally running) around with $60 portions, come on! The owner claims it's a "whole Cornish hen" and that's why they charged us so much. Hmm. We are obviously Iranian and therefore have been to MANY Iranian restaurants, that was not a whole Cornish hen. If so, poor gal only had one breast, one thigh and one wing. And the yellow food dye they used on the chicken was stuck on my fingers after many hand washes. The koobiedeh's weren't bad but very dingy and thin. Not "por bareekat" as we Iranians say... not sure how to translate it. We won't come back again. I gave 2-stars because the Afghani bread they served was warm and fresh.
