Mom and pop place that has hard working staff. You can't beat a Gloria's burrito or anything on the menu. But the Gloria's burrito is the star here. Staff wants to get you out asap, but they do warm up after you visit a dozen times or so. I came here once as I grew up in this neighborhood 40 years ago. It's a small, odd restaurant that serves both doughnuts and Mexican food. I opted for the carne asada breakfast burrito and boy was I surprised. It was literally the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Was it a farce? Solid burritos with a humble mom-n-pop vibe. Came here for the first time with 2 friends, and we got 2 chicken burritos and 1 carne asada burrito. We got complimentary chips and salsa - the chips were thick and crunchy and the salsa had quite a kick! The burritos were tasty and filling, but I think I would've preferred roasted chicken like I've had at other places compared to the shredded chicken they serve here. It was tender but didn't have much flavor on its own. It was pretty quiet - we were the only ones dining in, but a few people came in for takeout orders while we were there. I've drove by here several times in my lifetime and never noticed this little joint. It's definitely a small hole on the wall type of restaurant. I decided to see what was around here since I'm currently waiting for my tattoo artist to let me know he's ready to see me, and walked (came) across this place. I ordered the birria tacos w/carne de res with a side of consomé, a refreshing Squirt, and received a complimentary side of chips and salsa... let me just say that they had a sign that stated they weren't giving them out anymore! The plating presentation looked great. I was excited when I saw the color of the consomé! Some places tend to not put spices which makes it look like it's lacking something/flavor! I totally recommend this dish. The meat was perfect in texture and flavor, as well as the consomé. I wasn't a big fan of the tortillas, given that they were already soft/soggy when I received my plate. They could have warmed it up a bit longer, on the toastier side... my opinion. Clearly can ask that next time as well. I didn't like the cheese on top of the tacos, but it wasn't a big deal nor a deal breaker. Chips were great and the salsa was perfectly spicy. The gentleman helping was really nice and helpful. Totally a ma and pa restaurant. Dined in and they were very kind and checked on me. My friend placed a takeout order for our party of 7. A couple of people in our party had specific dietary needs (i.e. vegan and vegetarian/gluten-free). We had a pretty complicated phone order, but Gloria's Burritos assured us that they were able to make the proper modifications and accommodations with no problems. I tagged along with my friend for the pickup. Gloria's Burritos was a small mom's and pop's restaurant in the Maple Leaf Plaza off Saratoga Ave. I could see that the place was clean. Customers dining-in were loving their food, which all looked great. When we arrived about 18 min. after placing the phone order, the food was ready to go. My friend went through the list of food with the cashier, but my friend realized that she forgot to mention one of the burritos. The kitchen promptly made the forgotten burrito, which was no more than a 5-7 min wait. I tend to feel wary about large, complex phone orders. Something about the order has gone wrong from my experience like an item missing or an ingredient that was supposed to be removed. I was pretty impressed that every single order in our party was done accurately. I ordered the wet burrito al pastor with everything in it. I definitely got the best bang for my buck. The burrito was f'ing huge for $7.80, and I loved it. The al pastor was very flavorful, tender, and cooked well. I liked the ingredients inside my wet burrito. I especially enjoyed the sauteed onions, because they brought a touch of sweetness. In addition to the red sauce, there were guac and sour cream attributing to the wetness. Gloria's Burrito's hot sauce wasn't particularly spicy in my opinion, but I topped my wet burrito with it anyway for another layer of unique flavor. read more

This was my first time at Gloria's as I pass by it by everyday to and from work. Hungry as heck I decided on the Chili Colorado plate. There was a decent amount of food for your buck. But for me it wasn't about the price as much as it was about quality. Quality is top priority here as the result of the food I had. Its crazy because the locals I ran into inside don't even live on this side of town. Everyone inside Gloria's was quick to gab about the spot. Without over stepping the place was packed and not one person was Hispanic except myself. The loyalty here is real as there was a line outside from Caucasian to Middle Eastern. Anywho the food was great. I actually went back today for the same thing after yesterday's initial visit because it became a craving...I never crave Mexican food on consecutive days as I'm a Asian food fan. The meat was simmered perfectly but had a familiar taste to it. I want to say they use maize as a roux for the Chili Colorado. The beans are exceptional and the rice is as basic a Spanish rice can get but the flavors of its surrounding cast carry it. I'm glad I pulled the trigger as I will be a norm here. This place is a PERFECT example that hole in the walls are alive and still thriving giving us some of the best eats. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! read more

Wonderful place! I love the food, the portions are awesome for the price, and the man who works there (I believe he is the owner?) Is so nice! The food is out in minutes and it's very good!! I come here all the time. The restaurant area is small, though it's not packed or dingy-looking, it's more of a pick-up place, though sitting inside when it's hot outside feels so good! Haha. To be perfectly transparent, I've only ordered one thing from the menu but I've ordered it a lot. The chorizo breakfast burrito is legit!! The salsa they provide with it is absolutely perfect and compliments it so well, but the burrito itself doesn't need it if spice isn't your thing. I usually call my order on 10 minutes beforehand and when I arrive it's either almost ready or just came out of the kitchen. Did I mention they serve them all day long? Best chicken taco salad! A hidden gem among the hustle bustle of the area. Reminds me of a native America Indian taco.

I live close and finally went to try as the owners next store raved about Gloria!s. But I just got the shrimp enchiladas through Door Dssh and literally the totillas are like dough. Really gross. Flavor great just massively undercooked which makes me nervous as I did eat some shrimp. I called to complain but the person answering spoke mostly Spanish so we didn't get far and I totally understand- just please deliver a product worth eating.
