Ordered the Short Rib. In one word, disappointed. It was over cooked borderline burnt, yet it was also cold and so were the included sides. It was also a pretty small dish, so even if it was prepared properly, I'd probably need a snack after dinner. I sent it back and ordered the brisket Mac and cheese. Wasn't sure what to expect from this place adjacent to the Empire Mall. Agree it is a little pricey, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. We really enjoyed the cornbread as an appetizer and the smoked grape salad was unique and tasty. The white bean chili came out redder/tomatoey than we expected, but was still tasty. Ok well, we've been going to Roam since they opened the door, not for dinner but cocktails and munchies at the bar. I'd highly recommend them for this! We tried dinner twice and both times the food was less than good. They knock fire rotisserie chicken out of the park but they're far from a steak house and just can't seem to deliver on a $34 Ribeye as well they mis the mark on Alfredo. I just can't understand the inflated dinner prices with less than well prepared food. However, the service is outstanding as far as friendliness goes, they really go the extra mile here. The food is delicious and customer service was great. We ordered rotisserie chicken plate, brisket plate brisket sandwich and grape salad. The only reason they didn't get a 5 Star was because the corn bread, the mac&cheese née some attention. The cornbread was a bit dry and the Mac & cheese tasted like Kraft mac&cheese from a box. Then they forgot my Texas toast, but that bread was worth the wait!!! I would definitely go back, but will not be getting the mac&cheese and maybe substitute the corn bread for Texas toast! read more

But, the food took forever to come out, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. The pork shoulder and Brussel sprouts were terrible. The bbq sauce and Brussel sprouts were crazy sweet. What I did have: Deviled Eggs and Walleye Fingers. The smoked onion tartar sauce with the walleye fingers was a tasty twist on a traditional. This place should remain on your Must-Try! It's hard for me to give 3 stars because the ambiance and service is definitely 5 stars. The food was not good, some food was overly seasoned and this is coming from a girl who love seasoning. Some food was salty, the chips were stale and my guacamole looked bad. The drink that was supposed to be fruity taste like medicine. One saving grace was the sausage and water. The sausage was good. The wings have the potential of being amazing but they tasted too salty. The cornbread is different then what I'm used to but not bad. The brûlée looked good but was ice cold. The food was exceptional and I would definitely recommend the Brisket Mac & Cheese as well as the corn bread. Stopped on our way home from Idaho after an amazing day at Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We were looking for some great food and we found it!! COVID protocol is followed! Met by masked host and there was sanitizer for us to use. Came to our table which is separated from others. All of the servers are gloved when carrying food and masked! Love it. Now on to the important part... the food!! I had the brisket dinner with potatoes and beans. The brisket is slow cooked. It had the nice burnt bits but was also juicy and WAY tender!! The beans came out in a little cast iron pot, adorable and functional, kept em warm!! Oh and the cornbread was amazing too! Had honey butter that was to die for! Hubs had the half a chicken which was off the chain. Moist and tender, seasoned well and had a nice crispy skin!! The Mac and cheese was smooth and creamy. Our server Jessie was attentive and friendly. We recommend this place for groups or date night. Had the game on which made my hubs happy after our long drive. Not a review type person but this deserves to be said: We have been to ROAM probably close to twenty times since they opened, up until recently every meal and service was superb. It was one of our go-to restaurants, but our most recent two visits have definitely not sat well, if you know what I mean. So, another return trip is unlikely at this point. The most recent trip, last night, was terrible compared to usual standards, especially the service. Our waitress only took our orders, otherwise we never seen or heard from her. All our food was brought to us by a different server or bartender every time, I appreciate the teamwork but hard to say someone did a good job when they deferred their duties to others. Not once were we checked in on, even though we had been trying to get our waitress's attention for ranch (typical, right?) and some extra utensils for our dessert. As far as the food goes, well I've already said it didn't sit well. At this point we have tried close to everything on the menu. Our appetizers, the chips and guac, and bacon wrapped poppers were pretty good although the chips were saltier than the Dead Sea. We only got three poppers, but they actually pretty good so no complaints there. For entrees we got the Cubano with Mac and cheese, and the bacon cheeseburger with fries. The Cubano was okay even though the bread was burnt and pulled pork dry, and the max and cheese was good. The burger, well not good, as this is the main culprit of sickness this evening, a little undercooked and very greasy. The fries were greasy and undercooked (cue the typical Midwest request for ranch) although the seasoning was nice. For dessert we always get the triple chocolate brownie since portions of the cost are donated to different charities, it was actually good, but again it took a long time and was brought to us by another server. To sum it up, food was meh, service was shit. And we were revisited by the food in a not so fun way. read more

Nice place and people. Super clean and comfortable. My brisket was dry and chewy - didn't even eat half of it. But, the folks with me had the salmon, the ribs, the cobb salad, the chix alfredo and raved about it all. The mashed pots were very good but the corn chowder and corn bread were over the moon! (Note, I ordered the brisket because my friend had it the day before and said it was the best ever. It appears I was just unlucky that moment). The atmosphere is nice and the bar area setting is huge, probably 50 seats or more. The food was good, I had the brisket. The portions were average but plenty when you add an appetizer. This place probably has the best ambience of any restaurant in the 5 state area. Great feeling walking in and greeted right away by the great friendly staff.
