Yes, this is an awesomely amazing location (for the price). It is about 5 min or so (no traffic) from Lake George village. The room (which was partially remodeled) was very clean, but beyond that, there was a lot of downside. All the downsides: - Wifi didn't work - TV has 0 channels working - ceiling of the bathroom had stains (just looked plain old gross). - check in was a nightmare because there was problems with the systems - surrounded by abandoned buildings (ghost houses???) - areas of the complex look like they are abandoned I do love how nice and friendly the staff are. They try so hard and they were doing active problem solving. But wow, the property leaves so much to be desired for. read more

They have shut down for the summer. We have our daughter's wedding in July and all our guests that were traveling from all over the country had reservations. As well as a band we hired for an after hour party there. They did not have the decency to ever speak with us. They just started cancelling everyone's reservations a month before the wedding. We had to drive up there and find out from a construction worker. To this day there has never been any communication. Very unprofessional and unethical. If they reopen I would never trust that they will be dependable. Terrible to deal with. Only giving a star because I have to. DO NOT STAY HERE!! read more

This was our first time staying here (we usually stay at The Tiki). We were enchanted by the lovely scenery and views. The highlights for us were the relative quiet, the horse riding, the proximity to town and the communal fire pit. The horses and the trail guides were excellent and we enjoyed the forest route we took. Our premium room was clean and roomy enough for the two of us. There were a few negatives to the ranch however. The restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was not running well at all. It took us nearly an hour to get our breakfast, and the coffee ran out after only one cup and it took another 20 minutes to get another. The 4 cheese pizza we ordered for dinner took well over an hour, and ended up being something else entirely. Also, be aware that there are a lot of dog owners who stay here. If the owners leave for the day and the dogs are in the room, they will bark and howl at every little noise. In spite of these relatively minor disappointments, we would easily stay here again. read more

The ranch is everything the others described. That being said, we stayed two nights and had a fine stay. Made the reservation directly with JP, the manager and got an even better rate than I found online. I wanted to ride a horse and had done it many times in Lake George, where we vacationed every year many, and I mean many years ago. We,also frequent the track and casino in Saratoga. Let's get to the riding part of this review. It was Great! Two nice men run the stable, Emmy and Billy. The horses are wonderful, you will not be disappointed. You get a wonderful ride through the back woods of Prospect mountain, not just a walk up a road. Billy is a terrific guide book your ride at the front desk and show up early. I booked a horseback riding trail ride for my family and I and was pleasantly surprised at the service, patience, and charisma provided by the family. I would 100% recommend horse related activities with them. Perfect activities for children as well. read more

This was our first time stay here. They are remodeling rooms. Our room was good new shower,beds,rugs and white soft towels. The indoor pool was opened. The room was clean and the price was great. Not very impressed with this place and I have not even stayed there. I had booked a reservation and then all of a sudden I received an email stating it had been cancelled. I never cancelled the reservation. I have tried to contact them several times over the past few days and they have not responded via a call back or they email either. Very disappointed. read more

We had our wedding here this past fall and we have nothing but good things to say. They were so flexible and worked with us with what we needed. We called in a complete panic with less than a month until the big day because our first venue fell through last minute. They accommodated everything we needed and we right in budget. We had the ceremony looking over the rolling hills and fountain with the mountains in background. Our reception was in the main lodge, complete with dance floor, full bar, and disco ball. I will say that we had to bring in our own sound system because they're was outdated and you couldn't plug into it. Though, that could be updated already. They were undergoing full renovations and I can't wait to see what things look like next time we visit. Most of our guests stayed the night afterwards and we were able to block out and entire building of rooms which felt very private. The linens and bedding was all brand new. And we got to bring our dogs! There was a fire pit where the guests sat around drinking and talking until late into the morning, which was really the key for us. There was no cut off for when we had to be out of the space. We felt waited on and we're so happy we went with this business. The staff and general manager (who acted as our bartender and was amazingly kind/engaged with our guests) were accommodating, polite, and professional. We would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a sweet, casual, rustic wedding, event, or just an affordable weekend on a gorgeous plot of land. read more

Roaring Brook Ranch Resort I'll start with the good because the bad list is long and gotta give credit where credit is due. The property (not buildings) is beautiful and it has phenomenal potential. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were both so soft so we did love that. The surround on the tub and the showerhead was new so we had nice showers. There is a communal firepit where they provide free sticks and marshmallows. Now for the bad..grab some popcorn this may be long. Days before we checked in I tired getting ahold of the ranch. Called literally 9 times(I checked my call log)..no answer or answering machine. Sent email, sent message on Facebook as well. Still no answer. Starting freaking out they weren't even open and we would have no place to stay so I finally put a post up in an Adirondack's Facebook rental page and someone finally got a hold of me the morning of check in. They sent me a text from someone's phone so that the only communication I ever got from them. We were worried we may not make the 11pm checkin time..they told us if we didn't make it they could cancel the room without penalties..I said why would we want to cancel...we're staying 2 nights and will have no place to go. So ultimately I had to leave work early to make it on time. After check-in they gave us a room we had to drive to got all our stuff out of the car walked to room and they gave us a dirty or occupied room. So called the new secret number they gave us that people actually answer and we had to load the car back up and drive to a new room. They gave us a piece of paper with a number on it however it was missing a number so I had to call the after hours number. I'm not sure why they are having such issues with phones around here. They said something about work being done to the phone lines but why wouldn't they put the working number on their website for people to call and actually talk to a person. Rooms were musty and stains all over the carpets...big spider in the tub and we even had a mouse both nights walking on our tables. Tried to get a video but little guy was quick. I get it woods=animals but maybe if there wasn't a huge gap under our main door the mice wouldn't be in here. They provide coffee in the morning however they ran out of cream..she blamed it on the "busy weekend " but still can't someone run out and get it..there were alot of unhappy people waiting in line when they found out there wasn't cream. At check out I was hoping for some form of a discount and she did give us $30 off for the mouse. This place had SO much potential and they are just letting it fall apart and rot away. The inside restaurant is closed, the inside bar is closed, it looks like they at one point held weddings/events here but the green(now brown with stains) carpet was still from the 60's and causes the whole main area to smell horrible and musty. Ultimately as you can tell we were completely disappointed in this place and will not be returning. Please think twice before booking..we though it was cheaper because it was not in town but just outside if it and the now know thats not why it was cheaper.... This place is a total dump. The one redeeming quality, and the only reason we booked it was the pool. It wasn't until we got here and asked what time the pool opens, that they told us it's closed for renovating. Who renovates their pool in the middle of July? We asked the front desk for suggestions on where to go for the day to swim in a pool. We were told to Google it! The beds are gross and uncomfortable, the rooms are damp and smelly, the linens are like paper, the bathroom won't close, everything looks like it's from the 70s and the service is worse. Awful stay. We checked in and the room smelled musty and old. I went to take a shower before dinner and there was no hot water. Aside from a cold shower, the bathroom had ants all over floor! Throughout the course of our stay we killed several different kinds of bugs! The air conditioner face fell off when we went to change the dials! 8:30 am weedwhacking woke us up on Sunday morning. Went for the weekend "Oktoberfest", was greeted with a dirty room and false advertising. The room had acrylic finger nails and hair between the sheets. I'm not a huge Covid-19 believer but would imagine this doesn't meet the standards for even no -covid cleanliness. My wife and I agree that we should've stayed at the Hilton and saved some money. The Oktoberfest party was very misleading and none of the staff knew the correct pricing, which was honestly good because i would've spent more than I should've on very subpar entertainment. Our family had the best time at Roaring Brook! The property is beautiful. Lots of room for kids to run around and for folks to hang out. Five minute drive into town. The new owner was so accommodating, interested in all of our thoughts and critiques and filled us in on all the upgrades he is planning on making to the property; which has great potential. The staff was nice and pleasant. The pool area was not crowded; which we loved. Can not wait to go back next summer to see what they have done to the place. read more

Checked in on Sunday staying until Wednesday. First room we got put in smelled like mold. Changed rooms. Got put in the farthest room from anything which I don't understand because there's like nobody here. Also stressed to them how I have trouble with stairs. Was told will only be 5 stairs get to the room and there's 14 and too late to even wanna deal with changing rooms AGAIN. So now it's a struggle EVERYTIME I go back to room. Had to call from my phone, because there is no phone in room, and have someone come to room because outlet tv is in doesn't work. I moved furniture around to plug it into one that works. Man that came to help speaks no English. Ordered food and a drink night one. They forgot the strawberries on my strawberry cheesecake which I didn't notice until back in my room. I did get a refund on that the next day. Also told restaurant will be closed Monday and Tuesday so now I have to figure out food for the next two days and spend way more money then planned and I can't have anything alcoholic to drink now which I certainly could use one from being here. Also the website says outdoor pool closed until July 18 due to renovations which is fine because we check in on the 25th. Guess what outdoor pool still closed. Indoor pool too cold to swim in so now no swimming on this vacation which my 9 yr old is less then happy about. So after trying the indoor pool I convinced him you can take a nice long hot bath when we get back to the room. Well guess what no hot water now. There is nothing to do here and nothing to eat. So we have had to go downtown for activities and food which is costing me a fortune I didn't plan on spending. Can't even bring back leftovers because there's no microwave. Very sad because the people working here are very friendly but seriously for the money I spent it's absolutely not worth it. I am so bored, hungry, and disappointed. read more

Giving one star because I have to. I booked this resort for a car show weekend in september. I canceled another reservation after confirming this one. On June 6th I get a reservation cancellation notification from email. I never canceled anything. I started calling them at 4 PM on a Thursday. I then continue to call throughout the day on Friday on Saturday and Sunday as well. I literally called them 17 times. Always went to voicemail never did anyone ever call me back. I sent at least seven emails trying to find out what was going on and was ready to drive the 3 Hours to them to find out what the hell is up.Only after reading one review stating that they closed for the summer for renovations and canceled an entire wedding party did I understand what had happened. Very unprofessional, I will never ever stay there or recommend them and if I have the chance I will tell this story to anyone thinking about staying. Exceptionally unprofessional someone really needs to grow up and learn how to run a business. read more

Avoid this place ! This can be an amazing resort, BUT ITS NOT! Rooms have a smell to them, bathrooms are not renovated at all (door to bathroom didn't close at all due to wood be swollen due to moisture in room) cob webs all over bathroom all over room and that's when we check in, you have to step in bathroom to close door as you squeeze next to toilet (ridiculously small) kids had candy in desk drawer and something ate it little bite marks on it!! The beds were comfortable, tv nice, rug was new I guess hotel management considered this renovations? Also there is no phone in room, so if you have to call front desk you have to use your cell phone if you have service otherwise start walking to desk lmao! The hotel's idea of a restaurant is a food truck outside, no rain eat outside if it rains you eat inside all supplied by a food truck!! Outdoor pool was open and was renovated nicely. This place is not managed properly, it has the capability of being a beautiful place. Would not recommend at all staying here! read more

What a great place! I recently stayed here at the RBRR, 8/8/21-8/12/21. I was unsure as to what I would experience. I took a chance in that the rooms were newly renovated, and yes they have now completed them. The pool was also being renovated, and yes it has now been completed. It looks wonderful. Lastly, this resort is just a few minutes away from Lake George which just means tranquility. The property itself is very large with separated buildings, some 1 story, others 2 story. The grounds are also well maintained. The Queen beds were comfortable, and the room was very spacious which was great for my boys. They enjoyed the open space and were able to play basketball and catch baseballs with no concerns for others being too close. At times we felt we had the ranch to ourselves, which we loved due to COVID-19, we did not want too many people near us. The outdoor pool was great and the chairs, tables and deck are all new. We did not get to eat at any of the restaurants or ride the horses but maybe next time as I am definitely staying here again. Reserve your horseback riding here but stay somewhere else if you want more than a 2 star hotel experience. Beautiful piece of property with great potential. Horses and the stable staff were the highlight... (friendly, personable, and run a well organized operation. The same cannot be said for the rest of the operations. The website notes that the pool was under repair so we anticipated no pool. However, the guest accommodation atmosphere was more like that of a cheap roadside motel/old camp rather than a "resort". - bathroom's cork drop ceiling with water spots. - dank and mildewy air in the room - No hand soap in room - No wall decor and old, very used furniture despite new beds, curtains and paint job. - Breakfast/ coffee operations disjointed and unprepared. Out of coffee each morning and had to ask for more to be made. - We were charged the incorrect rate and the staff stated they would adjust it at end of stay. We were fine with this, until we were notified of 8 more random charges having posted to our credit card- 2 of which were in excess of $900 - one of these was for a $2.50 soda. In total for our 3 day stay, the amount of random charges that continued to show up on our card added up to around $3000. This was extremely stress provoking. We have had this card for over 10 years and NEVER had this happen. Owner and staff faulted our card company instead of their system and offered no type of compensation to display their concern (ie. I would've offered extra horseback ride, meal certificate or something. - Every night and morning sleep was disrupted by the loud creaking floor of people walking in the room above us:( - Dog barking in the room next door. - no signs within the property indicating where various "amenities" were located. No direction was offered as to where on property restaurant was (though we didn't bother to ask as they don't take cash and we didn't want to risk yet a 3rd $900 charge to our card). Ate off property during entire stay. - WiFi inadequate for the poor signal area. - Despite website activity list, there is no biking unless you bring your own. You can walk the premises but "hiking" is actually down the road at the local recreation center. - One campfire consisting of about 8 chairs for the entire property. Staff burned an old painted chair for firewood. - No Bocce ball to be found - Giant chess board, volley ball net, ping pong table, corn hole boxes, and tennis court available. No balls, corn hole bags anywhere in the vicinity of the corresponding game. Figured it would be byo like the bikes so didn't bother to walk down the hill to office to ask. - When asked by the owner how our stay was, we gently offered our feedback knowing they were in the process of renovation. They were very unconcerned about the stress of the stay, despite having asked how our stay was and getting honest feedback. Had they showed the slightest bit of concern, or offered a minimal token of compensation, we would have planned to give them another try. We will not be returning. read more

I've stayed at this place for years and never had any issues, until this year. They claim their resort is pet friendly, and dogs could stay in any room. They have now limited pets to a certain section of the hotel. Rooms are dirty, there's no food, and the place looks abandoned. The rooms also offer no WiFi or TV. As someone who used to love staying here, please stay away!! I've also noticed people reporting bed bugs. This place needs to get it together, or the health department should close it read more

Oh gosh, first of all, the staff is sooo nice ! Friendly, helpful, and accommodating . I'd return just because the staff was so great ! The manager, JP, got us a great room, organized a private 2 hour horseback ride , and planned a nice picnic lunch on our return. He also gave us Smore ingredients for the evening campfire ! The night manager, Debbie, made sure we had everything we needed and that we were able to have a nice campfire. Our horseback riding guide, Billy, was awesome. The horses were well cared for and friendly, and the ride itself was a lot of fun, up and down mountain trails and through creeks. Ahahahahaa, I almost hate to give a raving review, because I want to keep this hidden jewel of a place all to myself ! And although the accommodations are a bit dated aesthetically, (70s decor) everything was spotlessly clean ! read more

We spent only a day at this resort and I wish it could have been longer! Went with hubby and friends to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, completely updated. The pool area was brand new and a great place to relax and get some sun. So much to do here! Seeing the horses grazing in the field was a treat and I love the grounds themselves with majestic pines and the fragrance of the Adirondacks puts me at peace. There's a firepit to enjoy in the evening and the sunrise from the rocking chair in the morning made for a perfect coffee time. I did not want to leave. The new owners are absolute gems, you can't find nicer and more accommodating people in this world and we are changed from just meeting them because they are a gracious combination of dynamic and generous, hardworking and attentive. The best hosts you could have and an inspiration to talk to them about their vision for this beautiful property. Do not miss an opportunity to spend time here...we can't wait to return! read more

My stay was very amazing it was me and my boyfriends first time in lake George and we definitely picked the right hotel to stay at we did have one hiccup out bathroom light didn't work and they switched my room right away , the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because when we went to the restaurant they have there the food was Mediocre at best the sausages look days old the pancakes were paper thin (10$) for 2 pancakes would stay there again but would definitely go somewhere else for breakfast read more

If the facility was rated on location and the landscaping alone, it would be a four. The price was very reasonable, so expectations were limited. The rooms themselves were more of a concern. At this price point, I don't mind basic amenities, and the beds were very clean, comfortable and seemed to have been recently installed. The room itself appeared to be reasonably clean, but very, very dark; the walls were painted dark gray and the carpet was old and stained, so it was hard to tell. There was only one window next to the entry door on one end of the shotgun room and a tiny sliding window in the bathroom. The lighting was horrific. To me, the whole feel of the room reminided me of a CSI crime scene set... The bathroom was dated, but the shower and tub appeared brand new, as did the sink; although the sinktop was in very rough shape. The furniture was slightly beat up. There was baseboard heat in the room, the themostat was set to 90 degrees when we entered, but no heat. It would've been nice for management to tell us that the wall mounted a/c unit was also a heater and to ignore the wall thermostat. All of the above would have been acceptable without the odor of mold and mildew that permeated everything in the room. If you have allergies or respiratory issues, I would strongly recommend you not stay here. That was the final dealbreaker for me. read more

We just spent 3 days here. It was wonderful. The customer service was very accommodating. We brought our dog and they have a dog building. You can even leave the dog in your room while you go out as long as it is in a crate of some sort. I expected a room with a doggy odor but was very surprised that there was no odor at all. "We have completely renovated our Ranch to create a retreat you'll love so much" those are the exact words from Roaring Brook Ranch Resort's website; the lobby, yes but our room, not so much. Even spoke with another guest and their room was apparently missed as well. Lighting is awful, not one piece of artwork or print on the wall, bathroom door would not shut at all, toilet not secure on the floor, no vent in bathroom, buckling walls in bathroom, the beds are just OK, the room is large and the tub did look brand new though! Outside our room was a small table with 2 chairs to sit and take in the scenery, which could be nice if management had housekeeping clean the outside of the buildings and get rid of the cobwebs and bugs. There was no phone in the room, nor coffee maker or microwave. We had breakfast at the resort only one day. Was not worth $45 for the 3 of us. We did address our concerns with the front desk the first day. A handyman came and agreed the bathroom door had to be fixed or replaced. We addressed our concerns again with management on day 2 and he was going to send someone up - they never showed. read more

Stayed here for a weekend getaway and wasn't disappointed at all. Honestly we choose it bc it was affordable compared to other hotels in the area for a summer weekend. It's conveniently located (less than 2 miles from downtown), on a beautiful property. The room was nothing fancy- no WiFi, a small tv, 2 double beds, and it could have used some updates. However, it was extremely clean, the staff was so friendly, and the grounds were immaculate! And since all we did was slee there, we didn't mind the lack of modern amenities at all. Pros: 2 pools (1 indoor and 1 outdoor), 2 fountains, a fire pit that we got all to ourselves the first night, and the best part- a stabile with 6 very sweet horses. We decided to do the horseback riding on our last morning- and I'm so glad we did! Turned out to be our favorite part of the whole trip! The horses were so well behaved (I hadn't ridden a horse in 25 years and had no trouble) the trails were amazing, and the guides were very personable! The ride last over an hour. This spot truly had the perfect charm you'd expect for a weekend getaway. We will definitely stay here again! read more

This resort needs major help. Musty smell in the rooms and the decoration is from the 1970's. Meaning wallpaper falling off the wall. No wifi and tiny tv in the room. The indoor pool was colder the the outdoor pool. Cold showers in the morning. Can't forget that as we checked out in charged for our dog which I wouldn't mind but neither the website or the guy who checked us in seemed to mention it. Here's hoping they really shred my credit card information that they wrote on a my name card. Spend the extra $30 and go somewhere cleaner and better customer service. read more

Stayed at the ranch 8 days and 7 nights. Beautiful surroundings; friendly people; dog friendly to the max and the housekeeping was awesome. My room was cleaned and vaccumed daily especially with the dog hair in my room. Ample garbage containers all around the property so no excuse not to scoop the poop. The grounds were beautiful and the ranch is not located near the noise and business of the village of Lake George. I would recommend a stay here; can't wait to go back next year. My only complaint was that they do not have any vegetarian meals that contain protein in their meal plan. I would have liked to have seen some bean dishes; large salads; some hummus for lunch and easy easy easy some veggie burgers. I am sending them a letter and will recommend this so other vegetarians can eat a balanced diet when staying there. read more

I give them 4/5 at least for value if not 4.5/5. The bathrooms were a little old but the rest of the room was more modern and you can't really beat the price in the area for what you get. The grounds were beautiful. What gives them 3/5 instead of 4/5 or better was room cleanliness. The rooms were very clean as far as what you come into contact with, but there was not a lot of attention given in a few other areas. The ceilings when I walked in had 2 spiders that I put outside and there were a number of crushed dead bugs on the ceiling that were there for who knows how long. Ants, mosquitoes...they were crushed and left there in the ceiling. About 5-7 of them in addition to the 2 living spiders. The window sills were dirty with spider webs and a bunch of dead moths. So I think I will go back there on my next trip but I expect there not to be a bunch of dead bugs everywhere upon my next arrival. The room could use brighter lighting. Then maybe so many bugs wouldn't be attracted inside and the maids could see how dirty parts of the rooms really are. read more

A really great place to stay. I went for the Americade last week and all the staff was great. I had a break down with my bike (Mad-Max) a custom three wheeler. It had over heated because of a bad wire on the fan and blew out the radiator. While pulling the radiator out in the parking lot I met Evan Boyer on the maintenance staff at Roaring Brook, I had been told that the radiator I needed was in Troy NY. Evan offered to drive me there in his own truck more than 40 miles away. When we returned Evan helped to install it using his own drill and screws from his shop, he worked on it until nearly 11pm. I was able to make it home next day with no problems over 140 miles.............................thanks to Evan...Oh i'm on my wife's yelp................Paul read more
