I enjoyed our recent stay. We stayed three nights at the end of August into September for $535, which I thought was reasonable. First floor, courtside room with ample parking. The room was very clean and modern but lacking table and chair set, only a desk to sit at. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and coffee provided. Restaurant and Cabana bar on sight. Huge pool but it was heavily populated with families with small children so just avoided that area. Good sized beachfront access as well! They provided some beach toys and some floats that I enjoyed drifting on the 74 degree lake. Kayak and other rentals available. Large fire pit area as well. 24 hour desk services. Easy check in and out. They set up texting for communication through your stay. Daily room service for towels, trash, coffee and room tidying. I wasn't thrilled with room location initially but it actually worked out perfectly, easy in and out and courtyard across the way! Restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. Cabana bar with food options as well. They have lakefront rooms available that I would love to check out next visit! I've stayed at many hotels on Canada Street over the years and this was one of my favorites with so many amenities at a fair price! read more

THERE'S NO INTERNET. well, there is Internet, but it isn't good. It's so slow and really horrible. The rooms are fine. My favorite part was that I could dock my boat. I liked the bar. It was great I made so many cool friends at the bar. The pool was fine. I really liked the s'mores making place. I also loved watching the fireworks off of the dock. We wanted somewhere in town and chose this place. Location is great and the check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room on the second floor was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a microwave and refrigerator also. There is a small pool and bar which faces the lake. My biggest complaint is the guests. Kids are running up and down the hallways at all hours and the walls are thin so you hear everything. There are chairs outside every door, so people are sitting out there late at night carrying on loud conversations, which again can be easily heard. There should be a quiet time after 10. I'm just amazed at self entitled people who have no regard for anyone else. read more

We loved the Georgian, definitely worth the price. The pool and beach are great, the view is great, food and happy hour are great. All around awesome time. They've recently renovated so the rooms looked modern and cleaned up, we had the pool view king size room and had great fire of the water. They have an awesome pool that has a view of the lake too with a pool bar with awesome deals. Happy hour every day from 4-6pm, $5 Tito's mixed drinks or lavender fields specialty cocktail and I think it was $1 off beer and wine. They poor they're drinks strong so you definitely get your moneys worth. The beach is a nice added amenity and for only $20 you can rent a paddle board or for just $10 an hour you can rent a single person kayak. Definitely worth it and a fun activity to do. We went before the summer rush which was really nice because it was never too busy anywhere, but still great night life. Overall a great time at the Georgian and we'll definitely be back. read more

The resort was centrally located and the staff was wonderful and very accommodating. My only complaint was the Cabana Bar had no indoor seating in case it rained (it poured rain at lunchtime my second day there so the cabana was closed and I had to go out in the rain to get lunch. You also couldn't charge your meals to your room as in other hotels. My martini wasn't the best and was served in a plastic cup. My wine was good but was also served in a plastic cup. My food was really good and my filet was cooked to perfection. My breakfast was great but again, I couldn't charge my meal to my room. There was also no room service in case you wanted to eat in. As for the room, it was dark (even with the lights on and the curtains open). It did have a partial view of the lake with a balcony. For the money I was paying and a free room upgrade, it was a disappointing first experience. read more

We stayed here for a few days in August. The word resort can be confusing because this is a motel. They do have chairs outside each room, so you can sit in the hallway when you wake up or want to get out of the room. They say you are not allowed to smoke on the balcony/hallway, but they do not enforce this. The man in the room next to us was smoking morning, noon and night. I couldn't leave my door open or sit outside because he was smoking. There were also people at the other end of the hall who brought their own ashtray even though the motel has a designated smoking section. We opted to order food outside at the pool the first night since we got in late. They sat us at a firepit that was filthy. They didn't wipe anything down before we sat there. We had low expectations for the food, but it was pretty bad. The veggie burger wasn't even warm enough and the mozzarella sticks were just strange. They advertise you can have smores, but then they charge you for the smores kit. I asked for a 1 hour delayed check out on the day we left and they said they do not offer that. 1 hour? Really? The rooms were clean, and when our toilet got clogged, they were responsive. Absolutely stunning view. Not sure if those balanced out the negatives. read more

There were kids and adults running up and down the hallway making noise at 10pm while I'm trying to sleep. There was a moldy smell in the air. Whoever took the marketing photos for this place should get a raise. There is nothing wrong with staying in a motel, but if I'm going to stay in a motel, I'd like to know before checking in. While this "resort" claims to be updated, it is a run down motel. The room was dirty, with someone else's beard hair all over the sink, stains on the baseboards, and hair and dirt on the floor. The "amenities" you need to pay for, such as breakfast, kayak rentals, s'mores. That's fine, but not typical for a "resort." The door has a deadbolt but no secondary locking mechanism, which is typically standard. The only reason I did not give this a one star was because the staff were kind upon check in and check out. Save the $200+ they charge per night (a ridiculous rate for a motel) and get yourself a nicer place. read more

The pool always had plenty of space and chairs, and we loved the happy hour option right on property. AC in room does take a minute to get cold so keep in mind if you would like to bring a fan too. Clean stay in a renovated room (weirdly no towel hooks in the bathroom though? seems like renos are inconsistent throughout the property as we had others we came with). Sheets and towels smelled like burnt bleach, but, hey, they're clean! Great view from our room. The firepits are a nice touch but really need to be monitored - drunken adults playing soccer and singing loudly at 11pm was pretty obnoxious. We ate on site one night and food was fine. Happy hour Tito's special was nice. Pool is heated and has a nice view. Kayak rentals were inexpensive and convenient! Staff-wise, there's generally an air of lack of friendliness. Honestly the kids working the kayak rentals and our 20 year old Bulgarian server at the cabana bar were the highlight (we didn't catch her name but she was super sweet so shout out to her! x). It's not that management did anything wrong per se, they just didn't seem particularly friendly. People are spending $350+ per night on a vacation destination, always good to make them feel like you appreciate their patronage (but, when demand is so high for the location, I guess it doesn't matter too much). 2 Stars for the location and that's about it. The room rate was over $300 a night. The carpet in the room was filthy as was the couch. I had to ask for toilet paper and towels as we received no maid service while there for three days!!! The outdoor covered patio was leaking and there were dead bugs all over the windowsill in the room. The pool deck was filthy (a little power wash at the beginning of the season wouldn't hurt). Overall it's just want a very clean hotel. The pool bar was nice and the bar food was ok as well but if it wasn't for the walking distance to everything the trip would have been a total bust. Hello guys, usually I don't leave bad reviews unless it's absolutely necessary, but this place claims to be fully renovated, but it's not, after we came to check in which was delayed by two hours this asshole managed Dave, guy in a baseball hat told us if we're not happy we can go look for other hotels although they all are booked and we can go back to New York City where we came from, by the way, we booked five rooms which were not refundable so we had no choice but to wait, then found out one of the rooms at AC, not working while it was crazy, hot outside and the other had electricity not working in the room, third room had a huge nest of wasps and bees. Finally checked into the rooms and found out it was really smelly and one room bathroom had black mold in it although he showed us is great new rules acting like he's doing as a favor. Breakfast, please is really bad, although it has a great view, but the experience was ruined by tasteless food, overpriced, for example, avocado toast was a piece of old bread with a tiny slice of avocado and then a tiny slice of tomato on top of it for like 14 bucks. One day night out when I came back to the hotel, I had to wait for 20 minutes for the come looking all sleepy and annoyed, when I ask for additional room key, she couldn't even find our information in the system for another 20 minutes and then called her boss Dave who said that although my name was on the reservation as well because credit cards was under my wife name, she had to come and show up, but she's a really strong sleeper and and in her room was fully on as she couldn't hear me knocking on the door to spend the night in the chair outside while he threatened to call the cops to kick me out. I told him go ahead. I would better deal with them than with this asshole. Because I'm NYPD police officer with 15 years on the job.. Please save yourself time, money, frustration beautiful hotels, or motels for that matter just make sure you're booking advance and make sure it's refundable. I hope you have a better experience than my family of 12. read more

Nice pool, good location, the place has construction going on. However, they gave our room away, so they "upgraded" us to a suite. No hair dryer, two towels for a room that sleeps up to six, no phone, no tissue, no tp, no wifi and no hot water. The front desk was less than sympathetic. I am giving three stars based upon my overall experience, having stayed here six of the last seven years. My family and I spend a week in Lake George every summer, and after trying a few different resorts in the area, we chose the Georgian as the one to keep going back to. My first four experiences (2017-2019 & 2021) were all very good (4 stars). The first year was a poolside room and all subsequent years we rented a lakefront room. The only two knocks were that the exterior of the resort was a bit run down and there's a bit of a bee problem. Last year in addition to the above, parking was also a problem. They have underground parking available but it's too low for most full size vehicles. Finding a parking space outdoors in the evenings can be difficult. However, my family enjoyed the lakefront view, lake access, and proximity to the downtown, so we continued to manage. This year was unfortunately much worse. The run down exterior, bees, and parking difficulties persisted. Additionally, our room left a lot to be desired (no mirror other than the bathroom vanity, wall mounted tv was replaced with a smaller tv on a dresser, and only one hook to hang all wet towels from in the bathroom). The lake beach and pool were packed with parents more interested in drinking and partying than watching their kids. That meant kids did whatever they wanted unsupervised, including throwing rocks in the pool. I'm not talking a few rocks, I'm talking dozens of 1-2" decorative stones that were part of a landscape island at the pool. Lastly, there were people using the Resort's facilities that were not staying at the Resort. (I knew this for a fact and advised the front desk about it when I was checking out.). I suspect that part of the problem is that the cabana bar is open to the public and there is nothing preventing people that come to the bar from just using the pool and beach. The Resort used wristbands for guests in the past but didn't have them this year. When this was brought up to the male manager, his response was that he didn't think they needed the wristbands. Consequently, I would rate this year's stay as 2 stars, and I'm at the point now that I will look elsewhere to book my family's Lake vacation going forward. I will say that the Resort staff have always been courteous and respectful. They deserve the praise. Ownership and management needs to step up and address the Resort's shortcomings. read more

The rooms appear to be recently updated and reasonably clean. We did come across a bit of dirtiness on whatever sheet was sticking out from underneath the main fitted sheet on the bed as well as the wooden furniture being pretty banged up. Parking was easy and overall price was really reasonable. The lodging is close to all the restaurants and stores therefore making it a very easy walk to just about anything you want to do. The air-conditioning in the room, however, did not work great and really needed to be turned on at least two hours before going to bed. Additionally, the beach area for the motel is very small and most importantly the breakfast is not complimentary and is not obvious that it is not complimentary. It is only after you eat, do you find out that there is a cost associated with that. Overall, it's a decent and economical option for exploring Lake George, but could use some improvements. read more

Went here on 4th of July- 7th when we got into our room a panel near the door was on the floor and it had all mold that looked black it kind of make us feel like our room was dirty I had to keep my sandals on the whole time... We did tell the front desk and they did fix the panel... We only had two outlets and it seemed like they didn't work well when we tried changing our phones took 8 hours to change to 100% but when we're home it takes a hour..... the bed was comfortable but the sheets seemed small for the king size bed it kept popping off the corners.... Also there's lights everywhere I say it's great for safety but at night it shines right in the room , also the doors seemed very banged up too. read more

My fiancé and I stayed at The Georgian for four nights while visiting Lake George and had a great time. The resort has a beautiful view of the lake, and a great swimming pool. The cabana bar is also a ton of fun, with friendly bartenders and great food. We visited with COVID-19 restrictions still enacted, resulting in no maid service. The lobby had tables set up with towels, coffee, soaps, etc, that you could take when needed. Dirty towels and full garbage bags could be left outside the room door, and were always promptly picked up. My only complaint is the rooms are a little dated, and there are definitely noticeable areas of wear and tear around the resort. A little sprucing up would definitely enhance The Georgian experience! Ps- try the frozen PB&J drink from the cabana bar!! read more

Just stayed there Sept. 11-14, first looked this place up on line, they stated they had a deal for $20 off a day or $40 off breakfast each day. My wife and I decided not to make a reservations and just go to Lake George. We checked a few places then stopped at the Georgian. Front desk showed us the suite that was available, it was a nice room with a good view of the lake. Guy never mentioned the deal until we brought it up. He stated "oh yes". We decided to take the room. We tried to use the microwave and it sounded like it was going to blow up and had to get it replaced. We saw a sign outside the dining room that advertised " Pasta Night", my wife went into the dining room to inquire when it started, she was told that it started at 6pm. We went to the tiki bar and hung out until 6:30pm, my wife went back the dining room to check out if "Pasta Night" started, she back with an exasperated look on her face, she stated that they were NOT having "Pasta Night" I went to the dining room and saw the sign advertising "Pasta Night" was still posted, went into the dining room and spoke to the waitress and was told the same thing, I told the waitress then you should take the sign down. Went to complain to the manager my disappointment. On the second day, we left the sign for maid service and went out. We came back later that night to find our room was never cleaned. I went to the front desk the next morning to complain, they apologized and asked if we wanted it done today, I said yes, she said it would be done. We left for the day and came back in the late afternoon, went to our room and AGAIN THE ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED! Went to the front desk to complain and made the point that for the money we spent to stay here this was unacceptable! I've been to other motels/hotels in Lake George that would've offered some sort of compensation for even the smallest inconvenience, the GEORGIAN OFFERED NOTHING! Highly disappointed !! Been coming to Lake George for decades and heard good things about this motel, but left dissatisfied with our stay. They have lost out on a repeat customer. read more

We stayed here 1 night and thought the room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was surprisingly quite comfy and we slept well. Check in was smooth and quick and there were many available parking spots. We had some drinks at the cabana bar and those were good, the view is amazing and the patio was clean and roomy. We didn't try the pool or restaurant. The rooms have vinyl flooring, which was a nice change to the questionable carpeting you find in a lot of Lake George hotels. read more

We stayed on the Lakefront suite. Quiet and serene and just a few steps from all the resort has to offer. The grounds just neecto be redone and landscaped. Once that is done this will be the best hotel in the area. They just need more time to complete.The food and beverage at the Cabana bar was excellent and very convenient. We stayed at the Georgian because we know it's clean. Most of the staff was helpful. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was really nice & clean but unfinished. There were no towel bars in the bathroom near the shower. I would have liked some shelving for shampoos & soaps in the shower/tub itself. There was no stand to lay my suitcase on. With the size of the room, another dresser would have fit perfectly and still would have looked as empty as it did. I am 5'2" so a full length mirror would have helped. Most importantly..the room didn't have a safe to keep our valuables in. We truly hope these issues are addressed before our next trip back to Lake George. read more

It was my first vacation alone after the passing of my husband last year. I was looking for peace, serenity and beauty. I got all of it. I spent 3 nights and never left the resort. There's a restaurant and bar on the premises -- food okay, drinks are excellent. The view from my room was spectacular! Pool and private beach rock. I went during COVID and there was no maid service which was on their website and expected. The room was very clean when I arrived. I would never stay at this hotel again. The exterior of this hotel is very run down, dirty and outdated. If you decide to stay here, request a room on the first floor as the stairs to the upper level are ragged and could cause tripping. Also, the walkway on the second level is so narrow that anyone sitting in front of their unit must stand as you pass by. While the rooms have been updated, there are no luggage racks in the rooms and no racks were available when requested from the front desk staff. Stayed at this motel while I was visiting Lake George to look at the fall foliage. The motel is on the lake front and you can tell it has been there for many many long years. The motel has signs of wear and tear. The room had signs of wear and tear and had a nice big cobweb in the corner. The nicest/newest thing in the room was the tv nice and big. In the bathroom we had a used bottle of shampoo left for the toiletries. The room had a fridge and microwave. The carpet looked kind of old and I thought the room had a odor but that was easy to cover with our air freshener. The bathroom had a tub with jets however the jets didn't seem to work in my room. The noise from upstairs was horrible, I think a elephant was staying up there cause all I heard was stomping all night so I might would request a upper floor. The pool area and bar looked to be in decent shape and the dining area was old but decent looking. The hallway outside carpet in the walkway area was disgusting it had lots of stains and it looked like someone had given birth on the carpet. The motel is nice for a short stay just needs some more renovations to the property. The Georgian was very convenient to the village I was able to walk to every where from where the motel is located. The staff was friendly. Also I will say that breakfast was pretty good. read more

I've been coming to LG for many years. This was my first Thanksgiving eating out and being at the lake. Happy Thanksgiving ....NOT! *Reservations were made 6 wks ago and yet they had us at the wrong time...very well knowing what time they were made for. Upon arrival there was a line for '2-3's'. We waited 30m and was seated. *the buffet was empty. Salad stations were like soup. One salad had old walnuts. Disgusting! The taste stayed in my mouth for the entire 'meal' Almost every station was empty and we had to ask for them to be filled. The desserts were horrible. Cookies were stale; like hockey pucks! *Most disappointing was the menu didn't match the food that was there. *The coffee was good. Creamer was from 2018 and curdled when added to the coffee. Waitress went and got us fresh cream. *Our server was overwhelmed but very nice. She tried to be accommodating. Highlight of the night. *oh, we sat with strangers and laughed a lot. Another highlight *We complained several times but no one knew who was doing what. Finally, we spoke to Steve Penrose....he was cocky, rude, swore and didn't even say 'sorry'. No explanation, no apology. I was appalled!!! *Avoid at all cost! . Not just the false advertisement, the 'chef' was the worst. Take Ownership! Be accountable. An absolute shit-show. Your "Resort" is more commensurate with a Motel 6 along a major highway. It's run down, dirty, poorly maintained, and old. That would be ok as long as your rates reflected what a guest should expect. They are not! Apparently you think that being close to the lake makes quality less important than convenience. News Flash: there are tons of places on the same strip as you that are close to the lake. Also, I was there for a wedding. I booked online after the bride told us the hotel. I paid more than everyone else (substantially)and your staff wouldn't honor the wedding rate because I didn't call to make the reservation. Apparently your policies are as antiquated as your hotel. In 2019, most people do all business online. My family and I will be back to Lake George, but will not be visiting you again. read more

Booked this hotel during Covid-19. It was not cheap; over $200 a day. Upon arrival, the front desk told me that there was no maid service! What?? Each day a guest was expected to bag used towels and go to the front desk for fresh ones. Honestly, when I go on vacation I want to leave my housekeeping duties at home. This was a convenient way to pare down housekeepers that were normally employed. The ice machines were far from my room. The courtyard view was a euphemism for view of the parking lot. The aerial view of the pool and beach made both look large which it was not. Broken lounge chairs everywhere. The only restaurant on the property was poorly staffed and food was cold and served late. Looks abandoned, pool is nice but the concrete deck surrounding it is all cracked and broken, absolutely no shade, pool is surrounded on one side by decaying facade of filthy Giovanna's restaurants, the other side, an abandoned conference room with plywood on windows and other side is view of the lake. The carpet going into Giovanna's restaurant is so filthy, I want to throw my shoes in the garage. The outdoor cabana bar is nice. The beach area is very small and run down, looks like you broke into an abandoned hotel when your sitting there. There's not enough parking, there's no handicap accessibility, the room was newly and cheaply renovated, no towel hooks anywhere and no room service . The only good thing is you can walk to town. I used to stay here in past and it was very nice, now it's a filthy rip off. Very disappointed. Almost everyone here is pissed off and feels they have been scammed by the website.
