Solid 4 stars! For the price, the food options are good. It's nothing fancy, but the bacon is crisp and the food comes out hot. My meal was missing artisan bread and they were apparently out of potatoes because they subbed the red potatoes for hash browns. It's fine, but I would've appreciated a heads up. I was full so didn't push the toast/bread, and the cappuccino was good enough to distract me. We did have to avoid one seating area due to a lot of flies, but I understand it's an uphill battle. They have a bug zapper on the wall in the back. Service was decent and the finishes inside were cool. Check out the growler light fixtures at the bar.

Boys shared a blueberry pancake (perfect for two kids) I got the scramble which was amazing and the hocus pocus chai!!!

Food is really amazing!!!! So is the hocus pocus late!! I would give it 5 stars if it was child friendly. So for those of you without kids this place is great (as long as you're not in a rush). With kids I'd give it like 3 stars because the food and ordering took a while. They didn't have much staff so the front of house was doing tons of different jobs. Luckily we brought some snacks with us. It looks like a mix between an old brewery and coffee shop. They have a little shop area to buy coffee and such and a bar for extra fancy adult drinks. It was nicely decorated for Halloween. My guess is their "target crowd" are any age without kidddos... Would we come back (even with the kids)? Yes.... We would just plan ahead and have one person come order ahead of time while another played outside with the kiddos around town. Again the food and drinks were wonderful!

First time trying out this coffee shop and I really like the Drooling Moose latte. I can be picky with my espresso but they nailed this one. I do think I visited on a day where they were short staffed because there was only one server running around who was also the cashier, however she was really holding it down!

Great coffee and friendly people. The bread pudding French toast was crazy good. They roast their own coffee and brew beer here apparently. Anyway if you're in town for the dunes or whatever and need a good breakfast beforehand I'd definitely come here.

The Roast Cafe was a cool vibe in a small college town. We had breakfast and coffee. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly and bright. They have a cool concept of breakfast and bar service. Good place to stop. Almost made me want to go back to college.

Huevos rancheros with green chile and avocado

I enjoyed gluten free huevos rancheros with green chile and my husband loved the burrito. The coffee was excellent as was the service. We enjoyed the outdoor table and will stop by again next time we are passing through.

    Such a cute aesthetic

Genius idea for a small town place. Stopped here on our way to Great Sand Dunes NP. The drip coffee is great: smooth, delightful. I ordered the breakfast burrito smothered in the green chili pork. I was surprised by two things: it was cold and flavorless. I'm not even sure how that happens, but, alas, it was both. My friend ordered the quesadillas and it, too, was sorely lacking in any kind of flavor. My other friend ordered hard fried eggs and they came out runny. The waitress was quick to resolve the problem and brought her new eggs to order. The service really is good, but maybe breakfast isn't their strength?

The amount of avocado in their "avocado and egg toast". It was mainly tomato!

I never thought anyone could mess up avocado toast. Felt absolutely robbed. My wife's "scrambled egg" with her's was omelette. Tea was tepid and therefore tasteless.

This is probably one of the best Coffee places I have ever gone to. Their food is to die for and every morsel is worth the cheap cost.

The portion was generous and we took leftovers home for supper! The flavors blended well and had that comforting home cooked flavor. We both loved the green chili and found the beans above average, reminding us of the homemade, all day + simmered, beans off of a wood-fired stove in the alps when we lived in europe. Yes, they were good. The atmosphere was hole in the wall cafe, where all the best food is found. I did enjoy the mural on the wall, the on going local conversation, and the familiarity between staff and customers. In the midst of that, we felt welcome. I forgot to get pictures of the menu. Prices were quite a bit higher than shown previously. However the portions and value were good and we didn't know until leaving that the price included the tip. I'm not sure if that was the case for previous menus. Stop in and enjoy! Glad to give them my recommendation.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Minimal parking out front. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The restaurant's front looks like a cabin with a steep roof and a balcony above the entrance. Inside, there's a relatively small dining room with a couple of rickety booths where we sat - the waitress warned us. Restrooms were available. THE GRUB + Coffee ($2.50) + Orange juice + Lemon blueberry cake ($4) + Breakfast bowl ($12) + Burrito ($14) - this sucker was huge. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kids menu, but my kiddos had plenty of options. SERVICE Very amiable service from both our waitress and the owner. MY FAVORITE PART... My breakfast bowl with green Chile! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The booth seat kept sliding around. My kids were excited to go fishing. Lol. TIPS + Call for their hours before heading there. The owner was super nice on the phone. + They will let you taste the green Chile if you are hesitant about spicier foods.

I found the coffee to be decent and the sandwiches themselves were okay in terms of flavor, but the prices felt rather high for what we actually received. My main disappointment came after half a day of strenuous activities in the park when we finally opened the packaging to find teeny sandwiches with really small portion sizes. Even after eating them, we were still quite hungry, which was frustrating since we needed a filling meal to keep our energy up. While the quality of the food and drinks wasn't bad, the combination of high prices and tiny portions just didn't deliver the value we needed for a park day.

Loved how cute this shop was - it had so much character to enjoy. Thankful they opened so early at 7am so we were able to get some coffee. Grabbed a Matcha and London Fog - not the best we've ever had, but still tasty and a good start to the morning. Also had nice breakfast options. Comfy seating options. We were able to grab a nice couch to sit and enjoy. They also had free Wi-fi and clean bathrooms. Street parking was easy to find. Overall, a good choice for your morning coffee!
