Nope. Read the reviews and ordered-based on recommendations- the breakfast quesadilla, cinnamon roll, 1/2 breakfast burrito, steel cut oatmeal, artisan wheat toast and two coffees. Coffees and breakfast burrito were fine. Cinnamon roll forgotten in the order- tried to call- no answer. The toast was sent dry with no butter provided. The oatmeal was inedible- see below picture. The quesadilla was greasy and fell apart. We are visiting Alamosa and were excited to eat local for breakfast this morning. This was not a good selection- go elsewhere. read more

Turned the corner to drive around the block and happened onto Roast for breakfast. I'd share pics of our food....but it was too delicious and we chowed down fast. I ordered the breakfast burrito and the skillet, and neither had salt or pepper. :/ Coffee was decent and they were the only coffee shop in town that sold cold brew coffee (outside of Starbucks). We stopped into Roast on our trip from driving Dallas to Fort Collins. We were exhausted and needed a pick-me-up. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. The espresso was pulled perfectly and the drip was delicious. The space doubles as a brewery and we were bummed we had more to drive because we wanted to hang out and grab a beer. I ended up leaving my wallet at the store and the staff and owner, Scott, were more than helpful. A true god send on our long journey. Thank you, Roast! They were open on Labor Day and we had just had an awesome experience at the attached brewery/pub, so stopped in for breakfast. Probably top 2 breakfast burritos of all-time, with a barista who really knew what she was doing (try the chai latte!). They also had a trio of tasty toasts, with the three cheese toast being the highlight. But gah damn, that burrito.... We are driving through looking for a good breakfast and we found ourselves in heaven. The Roast Cafe delivers an excellent cup of coffee, I had the Sumatra and it was smooth and rich. For breakfast we ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo, the Biscuits and Gravy and the Mountain Breakfast. All were very good but a few tweaks would improve the food. For example add avocado to the Breakfast Burrito, and add additional pepper to the biscuits and gravy. The atmosphere here was cool and relaxed. The wife and I ate lunch there on Tuesday the 25th. We both got the southwest breakfast wrap. She got bacon and I got sausage in mine. The staff was friendly and helpful. Both our wraps were delicious and arrived fairly quickly even though it was their lunch time. We both also had a cup of their Italian sodas. I had blackberry and the wife had strawberry, both of which were also quite tasty. They had both inside and outside seating. I was also offered a coffee to go with our meal which I took one because we had a long drive back. Next time we are in Alamosa we will probably go back. read more

Came in here when we were driving through. The coffee is really good and it is obvious they take their coffee seriously. Their menu is a bit short but offers everything from savory to sweet. I had the house breakfast burrito with smothered green chili. Was very good and felt like a proper southwestern burrito. People next to me had the biscuits and gravy and the French toast. They said they were excellent as well. We sat at the bar- really cool set up, set up like a brewery bar but it really is a coffee bar. They have several alcoholic coffee drinks on menu as well if you're up for it! Would definitely return if I'm ever in town again. Probably the best thing about Alamosa. read more

I spent a week in Alamosa to hike and explore. I really like the landscape and the Foodscape (that may not be a word but I'm using it) I tried many of the local eatery's and cafes. This one called me back. On the last day of my trip I had to make a second stop. The burrito is great and the coffee is great. I really like the shot in the dark aka red eye aka 911 aka espresso in coffee. The atmosphere is a little country a little hipster and a bit industrial. But that's what's in right now so if you are in the 15-35 age group you will really be drawn into this backdrop. clean and well decorated the small "store" near the restrooms has coffee and memorabilia like t shirts and coats. A little note to women the women's room is hard to see as it is kind of off in the corner. I saw lots of women look for the women's room only to give up and use the men's. read more

We have been to roast 3 times. First time, it was ok. Great coffee. Second time food was pretty tasty. The feeling is of a coffee shop that sells some food. Coffee is great, food tastes good but lacks in care. Third time, our order was delivered to the wrong table. Our order sat at another table for at least 10 minutes, then picked back up and brought to our table. My husbands food was cold, my food was cold. My eggs, ordered over medium were on the griddle so long the edges were dark and crispy, the yolk was hard and dried out. No ooie gooyie unctuous yolk to dribble down on my biscuits. My gravy was ok, Although cold, and it had formed a skin.At best this lovely coffee shop is, just that a lovely coffee shop. There is no care in the food, the server is just a vehicle to get the food to some table, not necessarily the correct table. Go to a breakfast place for breakfast, and go to a cute coffee shop for coffee. read more

Outstanding! We stumbled across this place while trying to turn around to go somewhere else, then stopped in for breakfast on a lark. I had the chorizo scramble, smothered in the best green chile I've ever had. My wife had the roast scramble, with sausage. All meats were locally-sourced. SLV Brewing is growing in a good way. The brewery has always been one of my favorites. I passed on the free hotel breakfast to go downtown and it was worth it. Huevos Rancheros & breakfast burritos were both excellent. Could have had more green chili sauce but good local sausage made up for it. Everything is made in front of you, nothing to hide. It's a small place. Great coffee. Breakfast was good size. That saying we had a small group. Considering they were not busy, our group's meals came out scattered. Some of us being feed way later. My hubby's meal and mine, as well as daughter and son in law meals where cold when we got it. Biscuits and gravy should be hot! Perhaps wait staff and cook are new, but it was disappointing. The coffee was decent but the breakfast I ordered was not acceptable. Specifically, I ordered sausage which was delivered scant moments later along with eggs and potatoes. The sausage was inedible. It could not be cut with a fork and barely so with a kitchen knife. It was obviously frozen and then microwaved. The balance of the food was average but the experience with the shortcut on the breakfast sausage justifies my rating as 1 star. If you are going to charge a premium price for a gentrified meal then you had best deliver a fresh cooked product. read more
