The people there are so nice too, they always do a great job decorating these cool coffees that are named after scary movies or scary characters. I absolutely love this place. If you love horror films, this is the place for you! It was our first time coming here on a Saturday around noon. There was a line, but we were not deterred because they had little pop-up booths in front for us to shop while we waited. I ended up buying two purses from one of the vendors. I'm not sure if they are always there, but I would recommend coming there to check it out! I love the variety of drinks they offer, from coffee and teas to lemonades. I ended up ordering the "Here's Johnny," and it was delicious. I loved their presentation, and the whipped cream was amazing. The opportunities for photo ops here are plenty. They have an 8 person limit in the store, which is great because then you can actually take pictures of everything without a bunch of people in the background. Nostalgia hits at every corner if you're from the 80's-90s. Staff: 10/10 Friendly, helpful and chill. A girl helped us find the right drink based off of our likes and the guy behind her made them all and they were all delicious. They were so chill we never felt rushed although we took our time, they answered every question and even gave us suggestions on where to go next to try in town. Drinks: The menu is short and sweet but not limited to. They offered to make or mix anything we'd like but we wanted to stick to what was on the menu and visually appealing. I won't even act like I remember what we got because the names are cool but can be easily confusing. The drinks were sweet, coffee ones strong but not burnt and the kids ones were crème based and delicious. Overall this place is such a vibe and just worth a visit even if you don't buy anything however don't be douches and support a small shop. We waited in line for at least 45 minutes just to get inside last Sunday on 9/10, so BEWARE! Prepare yourselves for the worst in case the wait time is long when you go. They sell horror merch outside the shop, have a huge mural of iconic horror characters on the parking lot side of the wall, and inside, they have body size horror character figures like Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Meyers, Annabelle, Chucky, Billy, and Scream. I randomly found this cool spot here on Yelp and thought it was worth checking out since I don't think I can get this experience and drinks as easily anywhere else! We got a Freddy Nightmare Fog, which is a twist on a classic cold brew that has a pretty layer of red velvet on top and Hellrazor that has a REALLY SPICY Mocha and Toffee Nut. I'm honestly not even exaggerating when I say Hellrazor is spicy hot like a tasty salsa on your tongue that makes your hands dance trying to fan down a cold drink and leave you wanting for more. The theme here is so cool and the drinks are actually delicious and unique. Calling lovers of Halloween and all things spooky! This right here is the place for you! Every day is Halloween at Roast the Dead. I truly couldn't be more impressed with the decor/theme here. It's quite dark inside, but there's still plenty of instagrammable photo ops available if that's your thing. DRINKS: I'm unfortunately not a fan of very sweet drinks, and that's what RTD specializes in. I ended up getting the "Helter Skelter" tea and my sister got the "Mental Mango" tea. Both were quite flavorful, but honestly tasted more like I was drinking straight syrup, not so much tea. I did ask for half sweet, but I'm assuming they didn't get the memo. I would love to try some of the other drinks, but might have to just do a regular coffee next time I go. IF you're a person with a large sweet tooth, you'll probably be very satisfied with the huge selection of specialty drinks! SERVICE: I got lucky and came at a really good time so there was no line. We love the Riverside location so much we wanted to venture out and try the OG Roast in Yucaipa but unfortunately the experience fell a little flat /: I came on my birthday and the interaction with the baristas wasn't the best. I have taken a handful of trips out here and always make it right before they are open! Line can get long quickly. Parking lot is small. Coffee shop is even smaller. After you order you may have time to take some photos before your drink is ready. This is not a sit and sip type of place. It's very much a grab and go I got hooked on Freddy's nightmare the last 2 trips so time to switch it up on the next trip. I love the vibe. The people are cool. I thought I loved Rad coffee because of their creative drinks, punk atmosphere and color whip ...well I have a new lover now! I've been eyeing this spot for the longest since I first saw them on TikTok. I got the Freddy's nightmare because of the colors. I'm not a coffee drinker but didn't want to get a non picturesque drink. Let me tell you this drink was sooo yummy, not too bitter and not too sweet. I'll be honest, I already had super high expectations as someone who lives close to and has Rad coffee accessible to me. I loved the theming firsthand based on photos, but I wasn't too sure regarding the menu on which things were seasonal or not (turns out they have a huge menu and what I was seeing was parts of it and they do have a seasonal fall menu!). Their hours are normal for a coffee/cafe place and it's a bit on the small side, parking included. There was no space so we had to park on the street, but there's a lot of street parking and we parked right in the front! While we were there, there was a decently long line to get in (even longer line after we waited for a bit), but they have the radio blasting some metal and rock tunes and some shade from the canopy tents. Very thoughtful of them. You can have someone hold your place in line to take pictures with the horror/logo murals on the side of the building, make sure you check out the red balloon and "sewer gutter" with It the clown peering through, a backdrop with classic horror movies, and some more decorations at the front of the entrance. I am sure that the line is mostly because they are trying to limit the number of people in the store (6 at a time) and of course you have families bringing all their kids, so it will take some time. They also make an effort to make your drink as horror Halloween aesthetic as possible and this definitely takes time (especially with the drizzling and the blended drinks). Once you get in, you definitely see what the hype is all about! The entire interior is decorated from ceiling to floor, down the hall, every nook and cranny. There's a small porch like display with a classic TV playing vintage horror movie commercials, another TV showing "The Thing", animatronics/mannequins of Michael Meyers, Jason Voorhes, Freddy Krueger, Jack-O-Lanterns galore, Chucky and Annabelle, horror movie posters, and a merchandise corner too! So much to look at and take pictures of so I don't blame people for lingering behind and snapping pictures, especially while waiting for their drinks. For this alone, I definitely think it's worth checking out! We got the: 1) Hocus Pocus (large, blended): -I generally don't get whip cream on my drinks but for something this fancy and aesthetic, I had to ! And I'm glad I did! -This drinks is a vanilla bean, mint blended cold brew topped with orange whip cream -You can see the minty green "slime" drip down the sides of the drink over gray "sludge" very spooky-like and the orange whip cream also had Oreo cookie crumbs on top, adding more Halloween vibes to it! -Honestly tasted more like a dessert than a drink, but still had enough coffee to keep me awake and alive for the rest of the day. The large also allowed me to nurse it for quite awhile, even when melted this drink was super enjoyable ! 2) Hazelnut Skinny Witch Latte Fog Style: -This one had the flavored latte foam at the top drip down "fog style" and as it did, it slowly sweetened the drink. Definitely a drink that you'd nurse throughout the day. -Love that they have so many options and flavors and different styles you can order these lattes as. -Honestly before this, I had no idea what fog style even was! Definitely worth the trip here if you are in the area and if you are a horror/spooky fan. I would definitely go again to try more of their drinks. My only qualm is that it looks like their actual website isn't very active, so you would have to get updates via their Instagram and other socials. This place is literally in the place of nowhere. We live in Downtown LA and have driven 2 hours, with minimal traffic, just to visit this location. We've been here twice. We got lucky on the first visit since the wait time was no more than 10 minutes on a Sunday. We bought our drinks and had them in the car with the AC blasting. On the second visit, the line went down the block and it was 100 degrees outside. There was no shade and people in line had over 5 members in their family. We waited for nearly 15 minutes and the line did not move! We were frying while waiting in line and decided to leave. We haven't been back since. With that being side, the service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful when asking for info about the drinks. It's worth going at least once. Don't know if we will be making the 2-hour drive a third time. We'll stick to Rad Coffee instead. read more

La Churrona was supposed to taste like horchata but it just tasted like a candle to me which I was not a fan of. My favorite genre of film is horror. So, it's without a doubt I had to stop in a check out this VERY cool horror themed coffee shop. One of my favorite coffee places! We drive 1.5 hours from LA to get our fix every couple of months. It's small and in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth the drive in my opinion. The interior is definitely creepy, instagram worthy, and overall very cool to look at. It's a fun place to see whenever you want some spooky vibes (Halloween time or not). THE CENTIPEDE - this is my favorite drink! It's a Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy Lemonade. I believe this was a seasonal item, but they can still make it if you ask. I'd recommend coming early because they only allow a small amount of people inside at a time and we waited a good while. I was excited to look around the shop and look at all the decorations, but it was pretty packed inside so I couldn't really take it all in. I think someone should be at the door managing the capacity because a lot of the patrons clearly didn't read the sign out front. Or the sign should be placed at eye level because they have it placed pretty low on the door. Prices are a little high in my opinion, but it's worth the try. Our total was $15.62. My boyfriend and I got the Voorhes (toasted marshmallow) blended drink & the Regan (matcha) blended drink. We thought the Voorhes would be a lot sweeter, but surprisingly wasn't that sweet at all.
