Loved this place plenty to do friendly people. I definitely will go back when I have a chance to go. I would recommend it to anyone going on a cruise this place is worth a visit.

2 words .. Breath taking When my husband and I took a cruise one year and stopped in Honduras, roatan it was love at first sight. We decided to take an excursion through the island and ended up in Mohagnady bay beach and we absolutely loved it. The water is crystal clear the weather was perfect the people are friendly and the food is good. I would've yelp all the restaurant I went to but they weren't listed. 2 years later after our cruise my husband and I collectively decided to go back for his birthday of this year December 11th, this time for a few days. When we arrived we stood at the paradise beach hotel, and for the most part everything was super close to the beach but the hotel seemed a little out dated, I quickly got over it because of the gorgeous view I had of the pool and beach. There's so many things to do once you get to the island, everyday we did something from ziplining to boarding a glass boat where you saw all different exotic fishes and corals and not to mention taking a 45 minute drive to french keys to only experience yet another amazing beach and see many exotic animals, I couldn't stop taking picture. I have to say this experience was amazing and its definitely a place where I'll visit again.

Westbay Beach from Coral Sands by the beach vacation rental.

Westbay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Water is clear, beautiful, and always warm enough to swim. Since the beach is inside the reef you don't get beat up by the waves and swimming area is blocked off so you don't have to worry about boats or jet ski's.

So I thoroughly enjoyed the time on West Bay, Roatan. Definitely one of the prettier beaches on the island. This review focuses on the Grand Roatan Caribbean Resort, located on the very end of that stretch of beach. There are some nearby rocks/ corals and You can swim out from there to snorkel and get a gorgeous view of colorful fish without having to go too far out. We stopped in to the resort restaurant on our last night, for dinner. Gorgeous restaurant sitting directly on the beach, with a wide open patio-style layout for premier beach viewing, and lovely tables set up in the sand - ideal for watching the sun set while you eat! Service was prompt and friendly! A two-man band strumned classics like "Sweet Caroline", "Brown Eyed Girl", and lots of Bob Marley lol. Perfect ambiance to end a perfect evening. Well that, plus the gorgeous sunset we caught! The food was delightful! We started with the Lion Fish ceviche and washed it down with a caipirinha and a mai Tai. Ceviche was delish! The drinks could have been a little stronger. For our main courses, we tried the Whole Fried Red Snapper with Fried Yucca and veggies, and the Jalapeño Sea Bass with mashed potatoes and Red Beans and Rice. YUM to all of it! Came out nice and hot. The Red Snapper meat was tasty and not too much tiny bones within the fish (As I have experienced with other types of whole fried fish in Honduras). Fried Yucca was crisp and yummy! The sea bass, you guessed it, yummy! That Jalapeño sauce complemented the fish well ~ was not too spicy so I actually asked for some of their chili which was SUPER SPICY (get their homemade pepper sauce!). I am picky about my mashed potatoes and these tasted like the real deal, with a hint of garlic. I was thoroughly full and again service was great. I definitely recommend for food if you're in the West Bay area.

The five stars are for West Bay. I was on Royal Caribbean and stopped at Roatan. There's not much to do at the port. You must grab a taxi or better yet a tour guide to take you to one of the resorts for beach access and chairs. The water is amazing there and you'll also be able to do snorkeling with a tour. We booked through Cynthia who was able to get us to a place called Bananarama resort. She got us in the resort for $5 pp to be able to use their chairs and beach. It was much cleaner than the others. You will need to go through the little town to get your ride. Be careful with the motorcycles all over the place. Once you get to that resort you basically stay there till the time to go back to the ship.

This island is beautiful and the people are kind and friendly. The food is amazing and the rum just as good. We went to a local school and brought donations of school supplies and hair bands for the girls. Everything helps. Please consider bringing with you supplies for school as they are impoverished. #Bethechangeyouwanttosee

This is a pretty safe way to "do" Honduras without the safety risks associated with the country. The beaches are great and the waters perfect for SCUBA or snorkeling. There are a LOT of hawkers about. I really, really hate that about vacations. Tip: Give one of them (only one) $20 and he will keep the other locals away from you. And don't give him/her more than 50% upfront. I usually do $10 then another $10-$15 when I leave based on performance.

    Animal little French key

I came to roatan, Honduras July 13,2019 I landed in the airport. I rented a house on air bnb in Pensacola near flower bay right in-front of the beach. I have visited Mayan princess resort which let me tell you they have amazing pool very clean. The food there is delicious and freshly made. Places that are a must go is the little French key. I recommend going when there no cruise ships. Ride horses in the ocean. See animals, have food and drinks. Must do are zip line, kayaking, snorkeling, boat tours to see dolphins. Water are crystal clear which I absolutely loved. Must try the bailadas and pastelitos. West end is the place to party if that's what your looking for. It's a night life location.

This is an awesome place to visit. There's a lot to do such as scuba dive or ATV off roading. There are quite a few cruise ships that come into here, but that is okay. It drives the prices up but it also increases the availability of things to do. I'm definitely coming back to scuba dive. There are more than a hundred excellent dive sites. The dive shops were fantastic, so you know that they love what they do.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

You Check-in then you get changed into the robe and walk across the lobby check-in area to the elevators. You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window.

First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. My balcony faced west so I had sun during the afternoon as well (perfect for a tan). Honestly, I never felt like I needed to leave the resort being a pool guy. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. The gym was tacky- literally they just through equipment in 6ish guest rooms with the doors propped open. Kind of funny but not 5-star hotel caliber.

High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.
