It looks very fancy and expensive! However, the bed was too high, and my 4-year-old daughter fell and got hurt. The shower water seemed old, and the bathroom door was very inconvenient for me. In my sister's room, the shower was leaking. The electronic control system for the bathroom was very confusing. When you're cold and tired from the swimming pool, go into your bath, get out, and adjust those things outside the bathroom; I don't like it! However the pool and the garden were so nice!

My boyfriend and i recently stayed here for a vacation booked through Costco. We had the most amazing time at The Palms! We were celebrating our one year anniversary, and were spoiled with a bottle of wine our first night. Room was spacious and super clean- you can elect to have it cleaned however often you would like to with an out of a button. We loved lazy days at the beach and the pool. Cocktails were delicious, but beware of the steep 20% auto gratuity. We also enjoyed the nightly happy hours, where proceeds from the drink and food specials would go toward a particular charity. Loved that it was in a super quiet location...you do need to venture a little ways away to find some good restaurants though. Very happy with the level of service and for making this vacation such a marvelous one.

I absolutely LOVED my stay at the Palms!!! I booked my trip through jet blue vacations which was a first for me. I think I got a really good deal on my flight and hotel stay. I've looked at pricing for the Palms again and it does seem higher than what I paid. I'd pay to come back again though. The only negative thing to note that was upon checking in we found 2 pairs of dirty underwear in the closet of our room. We called the front desk and they immediately apologized and moved us to another room. I felt so relaxed at this hotel. From the room to the staff and restaurant it was just perfect. The food at the bar / restaurant was great. The service staff was so friendly and the pool / exterior area is very serene. It doesn't feel like you're in Florida. I can't wait to plan my next trip here!

How AMAZING! The staff has been nothing but wonderful and cheery! We spent a week in the Palms and had many accommodations. Lots of great food places to walk around and have! The pool area is beautiful, and the beach is so close! Wonderful. We want to come back asap!

I chose The Palms for the location. The lobby and grounds are nice. The pool is good, busy, but we were still able to get the last two chairs together around midday on a Saturday. It's a direct shot to the beach and you can check out beach towels with your key card. The standard king room is absolute crap and is very small. The room itself felt more like something you'd find at a low end place you stay at when road tripping across the US because there's nothing else around but it's getting dark... Motel 6? Housekeeping was good but you have to request it or they won't come but every few days--I love the button you can push to tell them you're ready for service. They've gone the route of the refillable bottles for toiletries (boo). The TV in the room was so old that it kept resetting randomly. The room is supplied with slippers and a robe. Water pressure isn't great but tolerable. I would not recommend staying here to anyone and would likely not stay here next time I'm in the area.

Barbara and Vanessa are the BEST! They helped us make our dream wedding come true at The Palms Hotel and Spa back in June! Being born and raised in Miami, there are lots of picturesque wedding venues that unfortunately are more flash than substance, especially given their asking price. The Palms Hotel and Spa is not one of those cases. This venue truly provided a white glove, boutique experience. The venue itself felt very detached from the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach with all the greenery and tranquility of the outdoor gazebo area. That scenery, combined with the art deco style of the hotel and the wonderful service of the hotel staff, truly transports one back to a simpler, and calmer point in time before Miami and Miami Beach became the world renowned metropolises they are today. Every detail was attended to by Barbara, Vanessa and the entire team! The food which was prepared by the same chef as their onsite restaurant, Essensia, was phenomenal! After our wedding, we also enjoyed our stay in an ocean view room, which had very comfortable linens, and pillows, and got to enjoy the hotel facilities the next day. We absolutely loved the pool and beach area, which had plenty of room for the guests. The hotel also reminds you of all their sustainability efforts-- hence the wood-like keycards that are used to access your room as well as other areas. Thank you for dealing with our questions throughout our year-long planning process! The execution of everything our summer wedding and our subsequent stay at the hotel couldn't have been better! We travel frequently, and can proudly say that our experience at The Palms Hotel and Spa has been a standout!

You get what you pay for. The room rates were reasonable, but the price of food/drinks were too expensive for what you get imo. The hotel is dated and that is reflected in the pool area/rooms. We went for happy. Breakfast was good. Cocktails at the beach were subpar. We were told happy hour at the lobby bar was from 4-6. However, when we went the bartender said 5-7 even though the menu showed 4-6 like we were told.

My sister and I needed a vacation where we sat and stared at the ocean for a few days with as little movement as possible, and the Palms fit the bill. Our room was clean and well-maintained, with a separate toilet from the shower. The open areas were clean, and all the workers were friendly and helpful. I even had an excellent employee return my earbuds when I dropped them without noticing they were missing. Each morning at 7 am, I sat and watched the hard-working men set up the chairs and umbrellas and were able to pick our chairs at the 8:30 opening time. Starting at 11 and throughout the day, attendants brought drinks as food that we ordered promptly and efficiently. Our experience was great, and we vowed to make a yearly trip to the Palms.

The Palms Hotel & Spa is located in Miami Beach at 30th & Collins which is a bit north of all the action so that is the first thing folks need to be aware of. If you want to be in the heart of things I'd probably stay further south which is walking distance from numerous restaurants and bars. On the positive side, The Palms is quieter and not as crazy so reserve based on what you prefer. You definitely have a limited number of options come night time in this area. We were very happy with the hotel overall. Clean, nice rooms, nice pool area with a tiki bar and the beach area is very well run with attendants manning the umbrellas and chairs. Was very impressed with the pool and beach folks in finding seats no matter what time we got down to the pool/beach. Kudos! The valet service is all done thru text which is a great idea. Fast, efficient and made it very easy to go in/out without issues. Overall a very pleasant experience and trip. I wouldn't quite put the Palms at the level of a 5 star hotel but a relatively inexpensive option (for Miami) and a quality hotel. I'd definitely consider going back!

Writing this review because we dined at the restaurant last night. I honestly have to say that Essencia is back. The service was better than ever and the food was delicious. Oh, and for the parents that read this: they offer the best kids menu in the city (it really shows that they care about the nutrition we give to our children). We had an incredible evening. Thank you to everyone that took care of us. Oh, and to the young Dutchman that called us back to book our reservation: you're going to have massive success in the hospitality industry - thank you. We loved our stayed. We had a reservation for 2 adults and 2 children. My husband and I arrived the first day without our children and gave us a small room. Everything was cleaned and the staff friendly attentive and polite. We decided to add another night and finally gave us a bigger room. They didn't know why we were given such a small room the first three nights. Other than that everything was perfect.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

You Check-in then you get changed into the robe and walk across the lobby check-in area to the elevators. You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window.

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

We spent the afternoon by the pool, enjoying drinks and snacks, which were delicious and the perfect way to relax. Later, we headed to Happy Hour at Lido, and it was fantastic. The drinks were excellent, the food was great, and the waterfront setting made the experience even more special. The entire property has a laid-back luxury feel, with beautiful landscaping, comfortable seating areas, and amazing views. Whether you're visiting for a spa day, drinks by the pool, or Happy Hour at Lido, The Standard delivers a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend for a relaxing day in Miami Beach!

The rooms have been thoughtfully re-designed, but still have that cold Miami cinder block feel. In other words you won't do more than sleep in them. The pool area is fantastic with a bay view and plenty of chairs. Lido Grill, the main restaurant, is nicely done and people / pet friendly. Service was good, once you got their attention, which was on you, not them...we had the lobster, fairly priced at $39, but was like rubber and inedible. Sides were a throw away. Drinks were very good. Other points, nice mini bar in room, however NO coffee in room and coffee shop doesn't open until 7 AM. A regular room, facing back away from bay, dinner for 2, minor mini bar invasion (2 drinks) valet, was over $1100. Not worth the cost.

The ocean views, beautiful pools, and direct beach access created the perfect relaxing getaway. The energy of the resort is unmatched and truly gives you that upscale Miami experience. One of my favorite parts was spending time at Lapis Spa -- such a peaceful and luxurious experience after a day in the sun. The entire property blends relaxation, entertainment, and elegance perfectly. If you're looking for a luxury Miami Beach stay with amazing vibes, beautiful scenery, and endless things to do, Fontainebleau is definitely the place to be. I can't wait to come back!

This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.
