The worst place I've ever been too!! I've now been waiting on my prescription glasses for over 3 months and I keep calling and they keep saying they will arrive next week or make up some excuse then they'll tell me they'll call me back to confirm when they will receive them from the lab BUT they never call me back. They could at least give the customer a courtesy call to inform them about the glasses that hasn't arrived in over 3 months and I paid a portion out of Pocket! I don't understand what's so hard about calling me back and letting me know exactly what's going on. I went to your business because I NEED my prescription glasses and my eyes are giving me a hard time ESPciaallt driving at night but this place does not care about their customers I am fed up and will file a complaint to my Insurance for fraud if I don't receive my glasses as promised. read more

I ordered a year supply of contacts because they had a deal where you can get six months for 60 or a full year for 270 with the exam included. When I picked up my contacts, they mistakenly gave me a six month supply, two boxes of six, one month contacts. I have called back three times and they have not gotten back to me as to whether or not they will give me the rest of my supply that I paid 270 for. Not only that but I had to wait two months to get these contacts. Feel like I'm being scammed. very unprofessional that they don't get to patients that they know they are having an issue with In a timely manner. The way they are handling the situation is why I am frustrated and I feel like I'm being scammed. From the very beginning when I called in to ask questions and schedule my appointment, Vanessa and Andie (I hope I got it right) helped me and were so kind. They left messages and followed up with me to confirm my appointment. It was such a delight to meet the girls. They sprayed hand sanitizer on both the front and back of my hands. It was not crowded. It was only me and another client. It was one client at a time, and I never felt rushed. When I met Dr. Gonzales, he was so kind and took good care of me. I felt so comfortable talking to him as he listened completely. He did not rush the exam or talk about his personal life like the last dr I went to. I explained that I had a bad experience with my previous dr and he made sure that I was well taken care of. He answered all my questions and explained everything. It felt good to have a thorough eye exam without feeling rushed. The girls helped me pick out a nice pair of glasses and I can't wait for them to arrive. They take VSP which I was hoping for. I came to get my youngest son seen by the Dr. Unfortunately, I was not able to come into the building because as a single mom of 3 boys 7,10,12 . I have no one to leave my kids with , per the manager only one patient and parent allowed . I asked if all my kids could be seen and per the manager whom didn't even come talk to me just sent another assistant to tell me they do take walk ins but not right now . I went to see Dr. Gonzales for an eye exam in mid January. I also ordered my glasses on the same visit. My glasses arrived about 10 days later, but they weren't right and had to be send back to the lab. As of today, March 10th, I still haven't received my glasses. I've been waiting over five weeks. Every few days I have called to check the status and am always told they called the lab and my glasses are scheduled to be sent out within a day or two. How many more times am I going to be told I will get my glasses back "in a few days"? I was told the same thing when I called again this afternoon. I need my glasses. When I asked if we could just cancel the whole thing and refund my money, she replied that she would look into that and get back to me. I'm sorry I ever came to this place. I need my glasses. I would like to cancel my order, and get a refund so I can go someplace else. read more

He caught my glaucoma really early, for which I'm very grateful. Prior to that, he provided me great follow-up care for my Lasix. Dr. Gonzales is basically our family optometrist. My grandparent, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and siblings we all go see Dr. Gonzales and his wonderful staff. I've been seeing him since I was in elementary. I am now 21 years old and recommend everyone to him because the service is great and he cares a lot about his patients. You can always schedule an appointment for that same week or the following and during the examination Dr. Gonzales explains everything. Which is wonderful because you can understand what is going on with your vision or how to take care of your eyes so you don't get an infection. Great with kids and adults! read more

I strayed once and saw a different optometrist closer to home but felt rushed and wasn't provided the service this doctor and his staff provides. Dr. Gonzales is great, he does a lot for the community and is a super nice guy. It pains me to say this, but I have to be honest...the quality of service has significantly declined :( . To start, even having the first appointment meant I still had to wait 45 mins. Also, they had run out of hygienic wipes for the vision screening machine and weren't going to clean it, until I asked for at least hand sanitizer to clean the chin and forehead placement area. Although Dr. Gonzales is thorough in his exam, the last 2 years I have gone, the prescription of lenses has been off. I've had to go back multiple times to get my prescription rechecked, but it's still off and the glasses are blurry. So I had to switch to another optometrist. I really wish I could give a better review because I have been going to Dr. Gonzales for 10 years. read more

I came in for an eye exam last year in December. It was a very long wait to see the doctor, but when I finally got to see him, he was great. Very nice guy who seems to care about what he does. It's unfortunate that I have to give the establishment one star due to the customer service. I decided to get contacts and was told that they would be shipped to the office in a few weeks and then delivered to me as I requested. A month goes by before I realized that I hadn't received them or had been contacted about my contacts, so I call and they say that they were delivered. I didn't have them, so I asked what address they had on file. The address was completely wrong. They said that they would resend them. I wait another month and I have to call again. I don't remember the excuse, but they said they would send an additional box for the wait. I appreciated the effort to rectify the situation, so I waited. Nothing came... it took me constantly calling and getting the run around for 3 months to finally get what I ordered; the additional boxes were not provided. So, I call and let them know that my free boxes did not arrive. They give me the run around for 5 more months for those. The manager in charge of the contacts, Christine or Christina, barely ever got on the phone to talk to me herself. I got a text 2 weeks before I finally got the free box of contacts from someone making sure to remind me that my FREE contacts would be arriving to the office the following week; as if they were doing me a favor rather than fixing their mistake. It was ridiculous that it took 8 months of me blowing up their phone to get my order, that I probably would have never gotten had I not, to get what I paid for and what I was promised. If I could I would give this place zero stars. I would not recommend you spending your money nor your time here. I've been coming here for years and I finally have had. The wait is ridiculous! Last Tuesday I had an eye exam and had to wait 2 hours to see Dr. Robert!! Today (the following Tuesday) I just had to get my contact fitting which only takes less then 5 minutes, my appointment was at 11am and Dr. Robert didn't even walk into the office until 11:47! They're very quick to take your money but don't really care about you. Once you're finally being seen everything is rushed because they so behind due to them not scheduling accordingly. I would HIGHLY recommend you driving around the corner and going to Nina Optometry on 1601 W 17th St, Santa Ana, CA 92706. She's very sweet, takes very good care of her patients and is very knowledgeable. You won't regret it read more

Don't let the small space fool you; this office is packed with great product and great service! Dr. Gonzales has been my optometrist since I was in college (over 20 years ago, gulp!)! He has helped me keep track of my overall eye health, and even in the times I didn't have insurance, made sure that prices were affordable while my eye care was still top notch! On several occasions when I've had an eye infection, he's even gone in on the weekend to thoroughly examine my eyes and rinse them for me. I will go there for as long as I can because he and his staff bend over backward to ensure that all my needs (be they prescription glasses, contacts or even high quality sunglasses--think Juicy Couture, Jimmy Choo, Bagley Mishka, Michael Kors) are cared for. Today we visited this office. We showed up early to see if we can possibly get in early, but the doctor was not present. We waited at the office until our appointment then still no Doctor. We waited another 20 minuets until the receptionist told us that "oh he just called and is having car problems." Which I understand car problems but not having people wait and not calling until you are 20 minuets for an appointment you have. Just have to say will never recommended or refer people here and do not recommend anyone go. read more

FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR DO NOT GO HERE. Seriously the biggest waste of time. I went back in SEPTEMBER, and it took almost six months of multiple visits and MULTIPLE contact lenses and this usless doctor could NOT find my correct perscription. When I first went in I told him I've used Biofinity lenses before and that they were very uncomfortable, to the point where my eyes were dry and sore everytime I took them off no matter how much I used rewetting drops. But he insisted I try them again, and so I did. Now at first it seemed like he knew what he was doing and that he was being careful about figuring out my prescription, but when I wore the trials he gave me the same issue I had before occurred again. When I went back and told him he didn't believe me and basically kept saying it was my fault for wearing makeup, EVERY SINGLE TIME. I work in makeup, makeup is my livelihood, it was infuriating to keep having to hear someone talk down on it just because he couldn't figure out my prescription. He kept saying I had an eye infection so he also gave me some drops and even after I used them like I was supposed to he kept saying I had unhealthy eyes. So after all that I asked if I could go back to acuvue since I knew those worked for me in the past. Well not only were the three pairs he ordered for me the wrong prescription, it took weeks if not months in total to receive each pair. It's hard for me to lose my patience, as someone who works in retail trust me, I have patience to spare and I hate confrontation of all sorts, but after the third pair of useless contacts I had it. I asked for a refund and the doctor gave me trouble about it trying to convince me not to. But enough was enough and I was done wasting my time. I was told I'd be receiving $420 back but not the money for the exam which I understand ; even though their exam was useless and didn't solve ANYTHING. One of the girls at the front said I'd receive the check in one-two weeks since it had to go through the accountant, as annoying as that was I didn't want to have to return for another visit so I said that was fine. Well a little over a month later and I FINALLY have the check, but I had to go pick it up because they for whatever reason couldn't have it delivered. When I look at the check I find out I'm only getting $320 back not the original $420 I was told. Apparently not only was I not getting back the exam, they also kept the money for the fitting and they gave me some discount that I also couldn't get back. What fitting?? Every visit was a useless waste of time! The doctor couldn't figure out anything and kept giving me contacts I couldn't see out of or caused irritation! I honestly was so fed up I didn't even try very hard to fight for my money back I just wanted to leave and never go back. I ended up going to my parents' optometrist at Sam's Club and I showed her the prescription this doctor gave me and she laughed and said it was completely wrong. She set me up with two different brands of contacts and got my prescription right and she said I didn't have signs of infection. Dr. Gonzalez and his staff need to get their sh*t together and upgrade their equipment or something because the six months I spent were such a waste of my f*cking time. read more

First of all, the receptionists over the phone told me that my insurance covers contacts. When I arrived the story changed and I was told that I had to wait a year for my contacts to be coverd by insurance! I couldnt wait a year so I had to pay out of pocket. Then there was the eye doctor. I DO NOT recommend that anyone go to him. I had to wait 2 months for my contact lenses because of his incompetence. He did my prescription incorrectly the first time and then I had to go through another eye exam for him to finally get it right. Once my contacts finally arrived,I still had to wait!!! The doctor made me wear them for a few days before he ordered them and then I had to wait some more!! I have been wearing contacts for years and this is NOT common practice to take multiple eye exams and then wear them for a week before they are finally ordered!!! This doctor was very condescending and I was very irritated and frustrated with this whole experience. I hope that enough people read this review and take my advice. DO NOT GO SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Gonzales since about 1994. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and takes his time to explain everything. He also has very gentle mannerisms, which are helpful since I have a major phobia of anything being put in my eyes. I am even able to wear contacts after his great office staff coached me through my fears. He now treats my entire family and is great with the kids. I highly recommend Dr. Gonzales. read more
