At our visit we noted seeing blood in our dogs urine and they did an ultrasound but didn't want to do a pee test based off the ultrasound. Well our dog kept having to urinate frequently following the appointment and there was still blood. So we called asking if we could start treatment for a UTI as our dog had a history of them and this was likely the issue. They said we needed to catch a urine sample and bring it in office to determine treatment. We did this another $100 later and they say there is no UTI and to bring her in for a clean catch sample and another ultrasound and more test. Mind you days are passing and our dog is not feeling better. We ultimately went to another vet up the road who treated her same day and was in the same price range as what we paid in CA. Their wellness visit was $30 cheaper too. It's unfortunate because our initial visit was positive but it just seemed like they wanted to keep charging us instead of treating our dog.

They need to hire at least two people who work at all times and do nothing but answer phones. When I first started bringing my dog it was Covid time and I could understand their lack of organization and employees, but we're beyond all that now so they should have no excuse. We conferred with him and asked for the best course of action, he recommended a PTLO surgery which would correct the limping problem. We went ahead and scheduled the Surgery. We have nothing but great things to say about the staff, as well as Dr Kiefer. ZOE, is my Service Dog, and she is my lifeline. I am a young woman, and the Dr made sure to emphasize my age and made it feel degrading and like I was an unfit cat parent because of being young (He has no clue I am a registered nurse). My cat is very friendly, but he makes me hold her down with all of my might so he can shave her in which she freaks out and scratches me. He doesn't let this go and continues to bring up her "bad behavior" throughout the visit. I would've freaked out too if I was her, and why was I the one holding her down when I'm paying over $100 just for the exam fee? Lastly, I assume this is because of the doctors age, but he came into the exam room three different times to lecture me or share different POVs on politics, morals, etc., stuff that had nothing to do at all with my cat or me. I of course don't mind small banter, but this was just over the top and turned my 30 minute appt into an hour after the fact my cat is in distress and I want to take her home asap. I do believe the course of treatment that was prescribed was right, but not the way myself or my cat was treated. I was judged for looking young and that allowed him to decide how I take care of my cat? I am well educated with a bachelors degree being a RN and could very well end up taking care of him in the hospital.
