The window is a basic single-pane kitchen window with a crack in the bottom left corner. The technician gave us a verbal quote of $1,600 for the repair. We never received a written estimate or any itemized breakdown showing what the charges were for. The technician explained that the price was high because the window grids would need to be removed, and said labor for that alone would be around $600. We were never given a clear explanation for the remaining cost. Another thing that felt unusual was being asked what our budget was before receiving pricing. We decided to get a second opinion and had the repair completed by another company for $300 total. We understand that pricing can vary, but this was a very significant difference. If the second quote had been anywhere close, we would have understood. The lack of a written estimate and the large price difference left us feeling uncomfortable moving forward.
