The manager's boyfriend cussed me and my wife out of front of our 2-yr old while we were picking up to-go food. He didn't like where I was waiting in my car while my wife ran in to grab the food, there was no parking, she was inside for one song (2 minutes and 36 seconds). I shouldn't have to justify my side of this, but for clarification: I was ready to move for anyone I was blocking and I had just moved for him park in the "No Parking" area; he then yelled at me for waiting elsewhere, then my wife as she walked out with the food. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Amazing hospitality! ... Which I thought was good enough, even if the food might not be. Then, I thought that sitting outside in nature's back yard, next to this stream, was the best part of this breakfast. When the food arrived, I tasted the "Salida Omelet" (and hash browns) I ordered and I thought that was the best part... But as I turned to start on my pancake, I noticed the little heart cookie they served with it and I thought that was "the icing on the cake". Then, I cut into the pancake and OH EMM GEE... It was soft, yet firm and moist, like a birthday cake! So I thought that was the best part... But then I poured the syrup... and tasted it... And I thought THAT was the best part of this breakfast. I'll just say this, it was the best overall breakfast experience I've ever had, HANDS DOWN! I live in south Texas and have been trucking for 31 yrs and this is my first time driving thru this part of Colorado and I'm so glad I stopped here. Thank you Robin's! It all started with a terrible service with the cash register guy who looked like he was on drugs. It took us 20 minutes to wait in that line to get up to the register. When there was only five people waiting to order. We sat outside. I ordered the corned beef Ash. My wife ordered the two eggs hash browns and bacon and toast. Pretty simple orders. Not too hard to screw up. We also ordered coffee and water and asked if they would bring it out to us and he said yes. Well they brought it out to us but never came back to ask us if we wanted refills of our coffee or our water which we ran out of both. I don't remember how much we paid for the coffee but to get just one cup and never have anybody come back to refill. It is ridiculous, especially if it's a breakfast place. My corned beef hash had 80% potatoes. I need 20% corned beef. Come on folks! Potatoes are cheap corned beef is reasonable and you give me like 10 pieces of little tiny half chunks of corned beef? It's not too hard to make corned beef hash and it's very cost effective for a restaurant but to really rip the customer off and only give them a few bites of corned beef is ridiculous and to say that you order coffee and somebody would come out and refill your cup. read more

This place is a hidden treasure! Perfect BLT, great portions for children at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. Dining room was pleasantly quiet and they have a beautiful patio for warmer weather. We'll be back for sure. Highly recommend. read more

Had such an amazing experience at Robins! They have fun breakfast drinks (we had tequila sunshine and hot apple cider with whiskey) and many vegan options (and non). As a vegan, it can get boring to have avocado toast, but they not only had avo toast, but also could veganize most of their menu. Also, they had vegan pancakes, vegan breakfast burritos, a beyond burger, and were really accommodating. Not to mention, it also has a beautiful patio experience on the river (dogs allowed too)! The food here is very good, my party had the peach-almond pancakes, the eggs Benedict, assorted fruit, bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and coffee. It was all delicious! The service was top notch, I think they came by to check on us about 5-6 times and they were very professional and courteous. The outside seating was very nice, you can hear and see the creek from the seating area and they even have a little path you can walk down to the creek. Will definitely be back. read more

Great place for Sunday brunch! You order at the counter, sit, and staff brings you food. Attentive service. They serve alcohol (beer, wine, spirits) and non-alcoholic drinks. They have gluten-free pancakes, waffles, and bread for sandwiches/toast! I got the avocado toast on gf bread and my partner got the old fashioned breakfast (not gf pancakes). Both were great! Dog owners beware!!! We are traveling with our three legged, sweet as pie, 60 pound mixed breed dog. We called Robin's to confirm pet seating. They said pets are welcome. We arrived. Signs point to the left of the restaurant. The path takes you by the delivery door and the dumpsters. When you arrive at the outdoor seating area, there is about 4 tables outside of the covered area. The covered area gives you a great view of a scenic river. The dog area gives you a view of the freezer and the dumpster. I asked the manager if we could sit in the nicer area. I was told that regulations prohibited that. After she left, I looked up the regulations. The only requirement is that pet friendly area need to be separated from the non pet area. In other words, the management has arbitrarily decided to rope off a very substandard dog area. If that's your policy, so be it. Own it. Don't hide behind "regulations ." Other than that the good and service were great. I highly recommend Robin's if you want a good meal out by the dumpster. read more

This place is a diamond. The staff are friendly and kind. I would come here everyday if I could. The food is amazing, the best no gluten pancakes I've ever had and the breakfast sandwich was great. This will lace is full of charm and is surrounded by nature. There is a seating area for people with dogs and without, a small little trail you can follow to the river, and local wildlife like robins(the bird) will perch right by you. I just moved to Salida and headed to Robins for my first meal in my new town. It was breakfast time so eggs Benedict was sounding pretty darn good. I love the decor and interior design of the restaurant. There is a ton of space here which I overheard may be used to cater events. I opted for a cup of coffee and an order of corned beef eggs benny and headed outside for the patio. The patio is very tranquil and I can see myself having many a breakfast or brunches back there. You are literally feet from a small stream and the sounds will put you in the most relaxed mood. The corned beef was great, the eggs poached perfectly and the hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside. Although there were a few people outside dining, it was very quiet as mostly everyone was enjoying the food, view and serenity. I can't wait to go back and try some more of the menu! read more

My wife and I wanted to treat ourselves for lunch. We live in Howard which about a half hour from Salida. We found Robins through the Yelp app. We both decided to try the Fish 'n Chips. When we arrived, we ordered at the counter and were promptly seated on the patio. The server directed us to a table with a great view of the river. The food arrived almost immediately. The fish was two nice filets of cod. The batter was light and crispy with the inside white and flakey. The fries were crisp and golden brown. Along with the fish and chips was a freshly made coleslaw with a creamy dressing that has hints of lemon and dill. Tartar sauce accompanied the fish. However, I prefer malt vinegar which the server was quickly able to provide. If you are looking for a place for lunch in Salida, I highly recommend Robins. It offers everything you hope for when dining out: prompt courteous service, ample menu choices, fair prices and a relaxing welcoming atmosphere. read more

Can't go wrong. Especially in a town exploding with new comers. The food is amazing! They have a great small selections and have mastered it. The prices are the only thing that have a draw back, but that should be expected in a town that is booming with expansion. The service here is absolutely great. Not your average service at table experience, I almost prefer how they have it set up here. Easy, simple, and to the point. The restaurant it's self is very clean and organized. Went here on July 4th and it was great. First of all, it was open on July 4th which I appreciated! We sat on the back patio. There was a high chair for my 1 yr old and they provided waters with lids for both kids which was helpful since I forgot their water bottles in the car. Food was delicious and service was quick. The kids shared a short stack, which I nibbled on and it was good. I got a the French toast, which was tasty, and my husband got the breakfast sandwich, which he liked. Robins is consistently delicious. I have been here multiple times in different seasons and I highly recommend coming during the spring/ summer so you can sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds of the river. Robins catered my rehearsal dinner (after hours at the restaurant) and our wedding guests gave lots of compliments on the dinner offering. My in-laws said working with the staff there was so easy! I've been back during regular business hours for breakfast and lunch and I love it every time. Parking is right out front, the service is quick and attentive, and I always leave with a full belly. Robins remains on my list of recommendations for anyone visiting or traveling through Salida. read more

I've been to Robin's twice and won't rush to return based on my recent visit. Staff is wearing poor quality masks which are clear plastic that rest on the chin and project upward barely covering the nose and mouth. As well, the staff does not seem to take care to try to keep a safe distance as they are delivering food or talking with you. While in line, I observed others not wearing a mask indoors (waiting to order) and the restaurant staff did not seem to care. Social distancing is offered with table separation. Key takeaway - I did not get a good feeling from a health perspective. The food is good but not great and it is generally overpriced. Views of the river from the outside patio are nice. Unfortunately, I just can't give more than 2 stars to Robins. read more

The food was ok and nice clean area. I paid 26 dollars for eggs Benedict and a cup of coffee. I sat there the entire time. Not one person asked if it was good or if I would like some more coffee. You pay and tip before get the food or coffee. So don't expect any service after that. I would not recommend this place at all find a quiet cafe where the service is better for less. read more

We tried this spot for breakfast right off of Hwy 50. You order at the counter and are seated by their staff. It was clean and spacious. Food was good and lots of options (my kids are picky). I had their meat lover's omelette and my son had their S'mores pancakes. The staff constantly checked on us and kept our coffees and water topped off. I definitely recommend this place and would come again if visiting the area. They also open at 0700 where a lot of the other "Yelp" options opened at 0800. read more

We came here for brunch today after camping for a few days. Although it had rained right before and wasn't the warmest, the restaurant was able to accommodate us outside on the patio so that our dogs could sit with us. We had a few eggs Benedict's, a salmon Benedict, and the pair of monarch burritos. The food was really good. My only complaint would be that the poached eggs on the Benedict's were a little overdone. The breakfasts were a tiny bit expensive but still delicious. Service was great and everyone was really nice. I would go here again and try other items on the menu! read more
