I had the Italian sampler which had 3 small dishes. Homage lasagna, Chicken Parm & Fettuccine Alfredo. It was delicious. They make their own Pasta & it's served with homage bread. My only complaint was we ordered cheese sticks as an appetizer & they're basically just frozen cheese sticks you find at the grocery store so I would skip that. This is one of the first times I've been to this place. I enjoyed the atmosphere, I don't know if we came on a slow day or what but it was just us and one or two other tables. Our server was really nice and in the end we were given a small piece of cheesecake with caramel to share with the table. I had ordered the cheese ravioli, and honestly, I had looked at the menu (not noticing it was outdated) and was devastated to learn they didn't offer manicotti anymore. Been to the Fratelli's in Prairieville several times and for the most part it's been good to great. Not this one. Granted it's one trip but not impressed. Ordered chicken Parm. Watery sauce, very very bland. Wife's lobster ravioli was good, on par with the other. Meatballs were fine, again, mastery bland sauce. Bread and infused oil was by far the best thing about the meal. Stopped in for dinner. Had high hopes. Staff was so sweet and their service was prompt. Strip mall restaurant. Food was average or less - wine was served at room temperature as in Italy; however, this is outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana - not Italy. The veal in the veal piccata was tough. The table knife given to cut it could not have mastered the task in its dreams. The sauce lacked depth and was thin. The pasta was cooked well though. Skip the focaccia bread as well. It's just mozzarella melted on bread with unripened, flavorless tomatoes. Maybe I ordered poorly, but there should be no poor items on a menu. Three strikes and you are out!!! I ordered a large pizza with sausage and Mushrooms out carry out in the restaurant on Wax in central. Hot Pizza came out boxed and drove home to find a Pepperoni and Mushroom. I took it back as I do not like greasy pizza. They remade it and I checked and saw a very uncooked pizza in the box so I asked to please cook it. This pizza looked so white and undercooked . Third time pizza came out I looked and went home to easy a mushroom pizza without sausage. Tired of driving back and forth trying to get what I ordered. I found Fratelli's this weekend when I was looking for a new place to eat truly good food. I was very happy with my dining experience. It's a small but quiet little gem of a place with booths and tables and a bar. Kind of old fashioned on the inside, quiet and welcoming. I ordered the cheese ravioli with sweet tea and rolls. Then asked for a slice of their lemon cake. It was all very very good and my waiter was really wonderful. The service was perfect. He let me sit in a booth even though I was dining solo too. I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes on their menu. read more

Pictures of the pizza in previous reviews caught my eye and looked outstanding, so I paid a visit. Seems to be The Real Deal Holyfield Italian spot, plenty wine choices on the shelves. Some decor around the small restaurant, plenty of booths and some tables. Music playing in the background, don't remember a TV. They had a woman serving us that was real nice and a man serving a different table that looked like he may have been the owner. A woman did walk in with a small dog on a leash and he asked for a card, I guess for proof of the dog being a service animal...she was asked to leave when she didn't provide that card. They start you off with the complimentary bread knots which are good but kinda lack taste. Some dipping oil on the side pictured. My dad went ahead with the shrimp and crawfish fettuccine and he said it was really good, and it sure did smell amazing. I went with the supreme pizza and it was also very good. I personally would enjoy a meat lovers pizza over the supreme but by no means does that say anything bad about the supreme pizza. The total was $88 for a medium pizza, 2 other entrees, and a piece of cake to go, and 3 drinks of course. Sadly the best part was the garlic bread and that's not how I like to start a review. Spaghetti and meatballs dish was pretty weak. Meatballs were out of a frozen bag and the sauce had no flavor. No garlic, no sweetness , no sign of any flavors that would indicate that this was an Italian dish - About as bland and underwhelming as it gets. The side salad was worse and inedible as the dressing was not anything close to the vinaigrette I ordered. I wanted to give them the excuse that perhaps I ordered the wrong item, but a salad with an Italian type dressing and spaghetti should be a Benchmark dish of any half decent Italian restaurant. read more

We went to fratelli's for supper tonight and we were seated right away. Between the four of us we ordered a pepperoni pizza, chicken Alfredo, seafood 3 which is shrimp, mussels and clams over pasta with a cream Alfredo sauce and lasagna. The pepperoni pizza was the best I've tasted, it's handmade crust OMG YOUVE GOTTA TASTE IT. The pastas were all 3 made from scratch pasta and sauces. The seafood 3 elwas loaded with fresh seafood. They also brought out fresh hot rolls and a olive oil and her dipping sauce and fresh butter for the rolls. Not sure why we never tried this place sooner. Both times we have ordered takeout, the food has been great. This most recent order we just ordered a large pepperoni pizza and 2 side caesar salads. Pretty good pizza and the salad dressing had a hint of sweetness but very good. The first time we ordered takeout, my husband and I both got the chicken parmesan but we could've shared a plate, the serving size was huge! Very good food and one day we will make it inside to eat. So our first time here. It was busy! Family owned business had a couple little kids there that were behaving like children! Loved that! Our waitress was bustling about and very good at it! It's clean and well lit! Food was very good, but you have to pay attention to how the menu is written. Spaghetti comes with meatballs, or, meat sauce, or, Italian sausage. If you combine it's $6.99 extra, I didn't know that but I do now! The rolls are just the stuff! Comes with a garlic oil that just adds to them!! Julie got the kids size spaghetti with meatballs and that was just the right size. Salads are extra, they have chicken done about ten different ways, veal and baked stuff. There's steaks and sandwiches too. Some lunch specials. On the down side was the iced tea. Julie thought it was like dish water. They gave her a sprite and we know not to get the tea. We decided to eat lunch here in the Central area while we were visiting family. We arrived and were immediately greeted and seated. The owner (I assume.) was really friendly and helpful. I heard another table order a pizza other than what was on the menu, and he was very accommodating to her and made it the way she wanted off menu. They brought a full basket of garlic knots, which tasted awesome, though I wish they'd had a little more garlic. They had a bowl of butter on the table to use as well. I could have eaten just rolls and been happy. I ordered Spaghetti Marinara, and my husband ordered the Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo. The pasta on the fettucini looked and tasted homemade. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it. I also really liked the Spaghetti Marinara. We would both order them again, but with their large menu selection, we'd probably try something new. The restaurant isn't fancy, but the food is really good and reasonably priced. They looked to have a really good wine list and offered cocktails and beer for those that want that with their meal. After having a not so great experience at one of the more expensive Italian restaurants in the area was definitely pleasantly suprised, on this visit. Always wonderful service, here but today's visit was extra nice for me. Had the calamari for starters and it was seasoned and fried to protection mom had shrimp tortellini, I had Ribeye Giambott with shrimp and just as the calamari main courses were perfectly prepared. My third time coming and each time has been perfect . Tucked away in a strip mall is the quiet unpretentious restaurant. The menus comes a basket of fresh garlic rolls that are highly addictive . My child said he wanted to eat here because it had pizza. I was not expecting much. I was blown away. We were treated warmly when we walked through the front door quickly seated us. I had the crab ravioli which was fantastic. My wife had the tortalini al forno. She loved it and I had a taste. It was pretty good. My son had the pepperoni pizza. He was happy! The waitress was very nice and they brought out a lemon cake when we were done. Which they did not charge us for. The experience was excellent. Honestly I got bored playing the game, got hungry and said ima just drive and eat some place I never ate before. Seen this Restaurant and said I'd give it a try. They have a Big Menu, I looked over it for a good 10 minutes. But ultimately I just went with the Shrimp Po Boy with Fries. Food came out Fresh, Id Rate my Whole Experience a 10/10. This is my new favorite restaurant in the Baton Rouge area! I am so happy to have finally found this spot on Google. I've ordered takeout twice from them since the start of the pandemic and each time I have received fast and friendly service. Not to mention the food is absolutely outstanding. I haven't had a chance to sit down to eat, but the inside is immaculate and nicely decorated. The first time I ordered, I got the lobster ravioli for my mom and me. It was delicious! Even my mom liked it and she is very particular. The second time I ordered, I ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was amazing. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the texture makes me believe they are fresh/made in-house! When I ordered the first time, I was expecting to receive some edible Italian food but was absolutely blindsided by the sheer quality of this restaurant! Plus, each time I order, I look forward to the garlic knots and suggest pairing them with the marinara sauce. Dined here with two friends. We got an appetizers, three entrees and a dessert. One of us had a sangria. Thumbs up on the lobster ravioli and the chicken alfredo from those who had them. The fettuccine carbonara was not very carbonara, and the sauce was more a generic white sauce. So, it was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. The sangria was good. The dessert, which we split, got thumbs up from everyone. The service was outstanding: polite and efficient. If I were a restaurant consultant, i'd suggest trimming back on the menu and concentrating on things they do well. As a prospective diner, I'd keep that in mind. read more

One of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in the baton rouge area. I feel Fratelli's kind of flies under the radar for a lot of people but i have to say the food is exceptional as well as the ambiance and service.
