My husband grabbed a couple of sandwiches to go today. I had the Bella Mia Eggplant panini which was huge and delicious, he had a chipotle chicken three pepper panini which again was huge and delicious. Technically these weren't really panini as not a pressed sandwich but on toasted bread- I didn't care because the flavor was delicious. We each sampled the others sandwich and agreed worth the $12.75 price. Also grabbed a contained of bow tie pasta salad Greek style and it too was good. Talk about a fantastic Italian American deli! I stopped here once for a sandwich with my cousins and the sandwiches were amazing. I stopped in on Saturday at 1:59pm and the wait staff said they were closed. This was extremely disappointing because we drove a bit out of our way to get a sandwich. Also online it says the deli is open until 3:00 pm. We ended up eating at a great dinner down the street called Sycamore. It was fantastic! read more

Food is mediocre. Ordinary sandwich stuff--Boar's Head etc; mediocre salads with no special flavor. There is no ambience to speak of, although they have a large area with tables and plastic chairs on a linoleum floor (which is freezing and winter). They've never made any effort to make it a little cozier so you can buy your food and sit comfortably. So most people do take out. Service used to be very good, but apparently the new owners are giving the cooks free reign to be rude on the phone. I called to place an order, but the kid who answered the phone could not understand what I was saying, I'm guessing because of the language barrier. So I asked him to get an English speaker on the line, and after some back-and-forth (apparently "she was in the bathroom"), another person for whom English was decidedly a second language came on the phone and also did not understand what I was asking for. (For the record, it was a "Keto Breakfast"of sausage, eggs, ham, and cheese; there was actually a picture of this on their web page.) I begged her to let me talk to someone who could understand me and vice versa, but instead she just tried to say something else I couldn't understand, so I said look, I can't understand you. So if you won't let me speak to someone else, I will have to go across the street to [Other restaurant]. And she said "sorry, I can't help you," and hung up on me. Now wasn't that lovely? Such a ridiculous situation. I would highly recommend another Deli over this one called Kaptein's, which lies on the Bethel Danbury border. High quality food, extremely fresh, extremely friendly. You'll never have a problem like I had with Rocco's downtown. read more

I've been here two times and both times Rocco's was amazing! I ordered the Saint Anthony's on a roll on both occasions, once for lunch and once for breakfast. I can honestly say that the quality was just as as both times regardless of the time of day. Many have said it - eat here and you'll be satisfied. I've been coming here for a number of years and I have to say that Rocco's claims to have the best chicken cutlets and they are not lying. I am pretty picky about the chicken I eat and I can say these cutlets are nice and thin and you never get a piece of cartilage or junk when eating your sandwich. They do charge a bit more but the quality is quite good and the flavor is great. Parking here gets dicey at busy times like lunch. Staff is usually friendly and service is good. Worth trying if you like a good chicken sandwich. BTW they have a full menu of sandwiches, not JUST chicken. read more

We are frequent visitors of Rocco's! Best Italian wedge (hoagie, sub, sandwich). Whatever you call it...it's the best! The Tuna, egg and seafood salad is also top notch. You want something warm? Try the eggplant parm sandwich!! It's amazing and you won't regret it. Rocco's is one of those places that makes you feel at home. They offer cravable menu items that keep you coming back for more. Oh and they have breakfast that is out of this world. Skip the fast food joint and grab a breakfast sandwich from Rocco's. read more

Holy moly!!!! I got the Rocco's Classico and that sandwich made me fall out of my chair. That thing was great. My buddy about 6 foot 3, got the bacon egg and cheese double everything, and that thing made him fly through the window. Never will go back! Went here on a lenten Friday-got there at 3 unaware of their hours but door was unlocked and neon light sign was on with words OPEN. Behind the counter wasn't clean yet as they were just about to start. Are you guys closing which point? The woman said yes we're closed. I said oh I cant order and her response was unless you want something quick??? Really? You hadnt start cleaning the grill yet and you couldn't even ask what we wanted or even accommodate? At least be nice about it. her other little sidekick just gave a big exasperated sigh! We were a party of two, and all we looking with some food to go on a Lenten Friday. Heard great things about this place, but due to customer service an absolute rudeness will never be back. Next time lock the door and turn off the sign one of those two would've made it better for us but considering they slacked on both those, they should've accommodated. One negative review can be exponential! read more

I love this place but rarely can get there because they close before I get out of work, so I made a point of calling ahead so it wouldn't be a last minute order when they're closing. No one answered the phone and got there and they were shut down and locked up a half hour early! So frustrated! read more

Rocco's is great. My parents recently moved to Bethel from NJ and during a visit I had a hankering for a good deli sandwich. Rocco's did not disappoint- the selection was great, everything was freshly made and service was relatively quick during a busy lunch hour. We went again the following day we liked it so much. There is an assortment of sandwiches and wraps on the menu and you can choose to have your sandwich on a round or long roll. The Bethel Special sandwich was great with bacon. Chicken cutlets were very fresh and you could tell they prepared them that day. This is a great traditional tri-state deli and I highly recommend giving them a try. Payment was super easy as well. They have a new Clover POS system that accepts credit cards (swipe/chip) and NFC (Android/Apple Pay) which always gets me excited. It has a screen which gives a detailed explanation of what you're paying for, super helpful! Cash is accepted too, of course. One thing I will note is that the dining room was very warm, the AC either wasn't working or wasn't on at all. We weren't planning on eating in, but we definitely wouldn't have since it was so hot in there. Parking can also be a pain if you come right in the middle of lunch hour. The lot is shared with a bunch of other businesses. There is a rear parking lot, but that can fill up quickly too. We'll be back the next time we're in Bethel! read more

I work nearby. I have to say they are very consistent. Have ordered breakfast sandwiches, chicken & eggplant wedges for lunch. My advice....upgrade to the wedge for a super large sandwich. Owners are super friendly and accomodating. Only negative is prices are a little on the high side for me(about $9.50 for a wedge) but not exorbitant either. read more

Came here not expecting much but wow. The food was delicious. The owner was in and him and I had a long chat, he told me all about his family and the history and experience they have together and boy when I got my food did it show! Absolutely amazing! After eating Justin recommended a few things all of which I got to go. I had for dinner and ate more the next day. Now I'm there as often as I can, seeing all they do for the community just adds to the reason I go. If you're in town you must stop in and grab something to eat! read more

Delis are easy to find but good delis; much harder. REALLY good delis.... few and far between. Rocco's is one of those special places that just does it right. They make sandwiches like you'd make a sandwich. Generous portions, top quality ingredients and that extra something that elevates the food. I can't always put my finger on it but I know by how the food looks and certainly how it tastes, that it is on another level from your typical deli. I will drive miles out of my way just to go there. read more

Full disclosure; I worked at one place in this space so I understand the short comings of this facility and can say without a doubt the new owners are doing a very good job utilizing it. Rocco's gets back to basics with good Italian deli style sandwiches. I had a sandwich here last week, it was one of the ones that has been on the menu through the last 5 incarnations of this location, the Sinatra. I have to say it was fresh and well made with just the right amount of everything. The interior has been cleaned up and freshened up with a couple of small tables and a lot less clutter than some previous establishment in this locale. I saw the great Italian bread on the shelf that we used to get delivered fresh from NYC daily so that's a good sign, everything in the deli case looked home made and fresh, another good sign, my old friend Ruth was working in the kitchen, a third good sign! All the best to the new owners, if they can keep up the quality and get the word out they should do great! read more

Not only do we love their food in general (it's our family's favorite deli) but with only 24 hours notice they were able to put together lunch for 30 people for a gathering I was suddenly put in charge of thanks to Rocco's. They put together a great selection of wraps, pasta salad, and regular salad. Everyone commented on how yummy and fresh it all was. I now use them for any gathering I have. read more

The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.
