The holy grail of pizza. The actual best pizza I've ever had in my lifetime. It smells so freaking good in there too, people at the counter are super nice and actually speak Italian as well which warms my Italian heart. The fries and garlic knots are also amazing. This was my go-to place for pizza. I had decided that this was my favorite place for pizza after moving here 1 1/2 years ago. Unfortunatly, this time, my thin crust cheese pizza was not as I expected. The main problem was that they scrimped on the cheese! It tasted good but come on! No toppings, except mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce, and they couldn't cover the crust? I also tried their chicken wings. They were a bit greasy and the blue cheese dressing lacked flavor. I previously ordered their eggplant parmesan sub and it was great. I like the staff, service is quick and the vibe is good as long as you like sports TV playing in the background. Oh, and the walls are filled with Italian movie posters, which is a unique and authentic touch. I will go back because the prices are less than the surrounding places. As a NY native, and After trying many pizza places in Jersey this is by far the BEST I've had in Jersey. Wings are excellent, fries are perfect, and the pizza has just the right texture. Not wimpy or soggy or too hard to chew. Their sauce is just the right amount and is delicious and the cheese is the perfect blend and just enough. Not many can get even two out of those three but they get all with flying colors. They also are very reasonably priced! If anyone is dissatisfied for any reason, give them another try! Depends on what you expect from pizza. For me the pizza is okay (Mafia dont come for me). The Stromboli and Calzones however, are like an Italian grandma gave you a kiss on the lips. Very much loving, a little too big, and oddly arousing. The cheese spread is honestly humbling as it is always tasty and appealing until it chokes you out and you really don't know if you're going to be 0-1 with a calzone. Your girlfriend may not mind but I definitely do. I can't say that it's a bad thing it's quite impressive actually, but i think I'm just self conscious that I can't take a meaty piece of cheese to the uvula. It's a really cool spot and quite literally one of the only things that Florence has that stops it from being considered for a nuclear test site. Italians work the kitchen so you know most of their food is gonna be good. again the pizza doesn't tickle my fancy but their chicken parm is solid. Today I managed to make it to NJ (which happens often enough itself) and ALSO managed to have time to spare and some hunger... So I rode up to Rocco's with the family. It is every bit as good as I remember. Both of my parents agreed with me... And my girlfriend and her daughter loved the pizza as well! Rocco's is a classic in my life, and in general is just great pizza. I often find that little places like Rocco's that are located in small towns manage to have great pizza. I don't know what it is, but it happens so often... And not only that, but customer service, too. These places always have that down! Girls who answer are usually friendly, there's one that's not so nice but it shouldn't cast a bad shadow on the establishment, they're a great asset to Florence. Best reheated slice in the area, hot and delicious(watch out for burned roof of mouth, I like it that hot). Joel may be the best pizza man in the business. When he is running the counter it is extremely effective. This may not seem like much but on a friday night you can see as many as 30 people standing there for pick up and take out. I've never seen him get an order of mine wrong yet. They have the best grilled chicken salad I have ever eaten. You know it is great because I don't ever choose to eat salad except their grilled chicken salads. The strikes against them in my opinion is 1. sometimes they are too busy(because they are good) 2. they serve breaded processed wing dings(very tasty, but not as good as an authentic buffalo wing done right. When I lived in Florence probably averaged ordering from there 5 times a week. My lazy nature prevents me from going anywhere near that much, but if they were open for breakfast I would go 3 or 4 times a week after I get done work at 6 am. read more
