Fantastic! My family got take out here this past weekend and everything was amazing. We ordered a white and margherita pizza, both were delicious. The crust is cooked perfectly, a nice NY style, topped with fresh cheese and veggies. We ended with their chocolate cheesecake which was absolutely perfect. I have been on a quest for the perfect Italian sandwich. There are many places that have one on the menu but so many fall short. I found the holy grail of Italian "grinder" here at Roccos. It's the perfect combination of the right cheeses and meats . The perfect ratio of vegetables and vinegar and oil, surround this with the just right roll that is fresh with the right amount of chew. As much as I enjoy pizza, I've never felt compelled to write a review of it or the place from whence it came. Nevertheless, this is darn good pizza and all of that is predicated on blindly trusting that I have the credentials to make that judgement. Still, absolutely solid crust with complex flavor and a welcomed touch of salt. Sauce has a marked richness and is applied sparingly so the crust keeps its integrity. Great topping portion and distribution. The cheese is a pretty non-offensive standard blend. In the simplest terms, this is a rock solid, go to for pizza Friday. The pizza was ok, but the woman with the bun at the front desk was so rude. She was very snappy, didn't even bother to ask what kind of salad dressing I wanted before she slammed a container of whatever she wanted on top of the salad. She practically bit my head off when she reiterated, incorrectly, what my order was to ring it up. Then she ordered me to go wait in the other room and said they'd bring it to me. Not a pleasant experience. Salad was very expensive for a lot of lettuce and carrots that weren't even shredded. I was hungry so grateful for food but would think twice before going back there. My sister and I have decided this is the best pizza on the island (and we're both NYC pizza people). Crust is perfect (thin and very crispy). They serve beer and wine now, with purchase of food (hint, a bag of chips is food). That being said, it's not (nor is it intended to be) a drinking hangout spot. It's all about the pizza, man, and the subs aren't bad. They have currently the best takeout pizza on the island imho, which is to say they'd at least survive as a neighborhood joint if they were someplace like Boston. Rocco's actually knows how to create a good crust, which is a singular skill here. Four out of five times, the service and accommodation is top notch. They do tend to get a little full of themselves from success. They occasionally succumb to that most Vineyard of restaurant foibles: closing early if they decide they've had a good enough day already or aren't doing well and just feel like knocking off--point being, don't plan your dinner around them near closing time unless you're sure they'll be there for your takeout order (one time, they actually closed early "just because" when I still had an order in, but that was one out of maybe 100 times now). read more

Have actually enjoyed the pizza from here, nothing special but good. Last week-end wanted to get soemthing to accompany some chicken made at home and stopped by for some of the ravioli's they have packaged in the dairy case. Beware, when I got them home they had blue mold on them. I returned them and they offered to replace them with ones made that day (how old were the ones in the case) and I declined and they offered me my money back. Ate here 4 years ago and the food was good, not so much now. The hot wings were like mushy and bland, pastrami sandwich tasted like it came from 7-eleven or airport food kiosk, sauce on pizza can be compared to ketchup. On the other hand the stuffed grape leaves had flavor. read more

Went to Roccos to meet my sister and her boss, and he is good friends with the co-owner Chris. Chris was more than welcoming to my sister and i, and came right out to our table and talked for a bit. the two large pizzas were ready in a matter of minutes, and we took them to go, and Chris offered us cookies on the way out the door. This is definitely the best pizza on the Vineyard, hands down! It is Neapolitan-style with a cripsy, thin crust and offers nice, delicate toppings. The best ones are the pesto and margherita pizzas. There is also a parking lot which is nice and seating on the roof above the restaurant which offers nice views of nearby sites, like the beach! When they're good they're great but unfortunately you never know what you're going to get. I order the same pizza every time and only about 1/10 of the time is it good. The rest it is average to burnt or made wrong. Service is the same. Unless one specific person is working the service is unfriendly and when mistakes are made very rarely is there an apology or an offer to fix it. read more
