That actually left me a little sus because it was around 5PM, dinner time. I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and the seafood pasta as an entree'. The calamari left something to be desired, it just need more flavor! They were crispy and tender, cooked perfectly, but definitely needed some seasonings. The seafood pasta, however!!!!! Great little take out spot perfectly nestled across from the Carousel and walking distance from the beach. Once side offers a large variety of fried seafood and the other side is only pizza. All food is takeout as there's no seats inside but there are a few right outside. Prices are quite expense like $20 for an order of fried shrimp but portion size was good and very tasty. Nice friendly hostess; we were seated right away. This restaurant advertised being open since 1930 so I'm thinking fabulous pasta. I ordered Alfredo pasta with broccoli and chicken. The Alfredo and broccoli great. The chicken was thick and non edible. My dinner fiend ordered lasagna she was disappointed it was full of ricotta cheese on one side and the meatball on the other side. She didn't eat her meal. Thé sangria was refreshing. Wow...just wow. This has to be one of the most underrated seafood spots on the island. This review is specifically for the clam bar, and not the pizza joint attached. I mentioned that I had no idea what a clam belly was in line, and everyone around me started trying to explain it. A few moments later, the manager (or owner) walked out with a giant clam belly for me to see and even offered me a sample lol. My goodness...it was everything I could ask for in seafood. The rich, briny umami flavor hit instantly and reminded me exactly why my cholesterol is so high lol. We ordered a quart of fried clam bellies, had some of the best scallops I've ever eaten, along with a lobster roll that was absolutely loaded with lobster meat, so much that it was falling out the sides. The clam chowder was okay, but everything else tasted super fresh. The staff mentioned that much of the seafood had been caught earlier that morning. One thing to keep in mind is that outdoor seating can be limited, so if you're visiting with a larger group and want to sit together, you may have to wait a bit. Business was going very well based on the number of customers milling in to grab some food. I would definitely come back again. Giordano's is one of the "Highlights of our MV visit, the food is to die for, whether you are in the dining room for a "Spectacular" entrée such as the Chicken Palm or any of the 'palms as well as the Fisherman's Platter, if seafood is your thing. The Owner "Buster" a real character and a gracious host, as well as all the Staff treated us extremely nice and could not do enough to make us happy and FULL! The bartender was whipping up some cool and refreshing cocktails, I felt like I was on an Island! I mean, a Caribbean Island....LoL On the other end of the block (BLDG.) is their Pizza Room and Clam Bar, for a casual and quick bite you can't beat it! The Pizza is "World Class" and the Clam Bar will get your juices flowing. We always grab a Pizza to have for a late night snack and it never disappoints! Bad Management... Good Food My mom and I recently dined at Giordano's. The food was very good, but what should have been a great experience was overshadowed by how management handled a simple mistake. My mom ordered eggplant parmesan, but was mistakenly served veal parmesan. She politely sent it back and requested the correct dish, which was excellent when it arrived. The issue came with the bill. She was charged for the veal -- an entrée she did not order, eat, or keep. When we questioned it, our waitress stated that she heard "veal" and that her manager insisted we be charged for it. The manager also attempted to uphold the charge until my mom explained she should not pay for a meal she never ordered. The charge was eventually corrected, but this should have been handled immediately and professionally. Great food, but management's response left a disappointing impression. read more

The place was really crowded which is a good sign to me that the food is good. It's a rustic looking place, a lot of wood. The food here did not disappoint. The calamari was not heavily breaded and neither were the onion rings. The mussels were in a garlic white wine butter sauce and it was delicious. The garlic bread was garlicking with mozzarella cheese. Greek salad was good with a really good creamy dressing and salmon. The crab salad was really good also. Horrible dining experience. Everything was very bland or overcooked. My mom was craving fried clams so we chose Giordano's after reading they had won multiple "best clams" awards and good reviews. The "fried whole clam bellies" were overcooked/chewy and very few bellies, might as well of been clam strips. I ordered broiled salmon served with rice and vegetables. Salmon and rice was very bland. After notifying our server how disappointed in the food we were, she took our plates and went to talk to the manager. They only took off half of the salmon, NOTHING to rectify the clams. We will never be coming back, and would advise anyone to choose elsewhere to eat. read more

This pizza place has a window where you can conveniently walk up and order a slice. Not to mention it smells heavenly! We decided to sit down inside for full service. This place has a long history in the island and I really love that. We were there on July 29th. The food came out really fast for how busy they were. The pizza was just okay-we asked for well done and it could have been cooked longer. Also, I do not like canned mushrooms on my pizza. The server we had did a great job, very attentive. One thing that did kind of give me the ick was that one of the hosts had on flip flops and she kept taking her foot out of her sandal. I know it's on an island, but I did not notice any other server or host wearing sandals. I believe shoes are standard in the food industry, as this can be perceived as unsanitary. Gonna lead with the positive. The pizza is good. Nice crisp yet chewy crust. Tomato sauce is savory rather than sweet. Good cheese coverage, good quality pepperoni; all comes together as a very tasty pizza pie. A group of "not hungry but could eat" teenagers agree with me. My husband and I stopped on a whim while window shopping "on the bluffs". We ordered at the take out window amongst a group of patrons. Ordered a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza. We quickly see a box labeled cheese and my husband's name appear on the counter. Twenty minutes later, we've watched countless patrons receive slices and whole pizzas. My husband has a thing about hot food actually being hot! So he politely requested the cheese pizza that had been sitting on the counter be replaced with a fresh one especially considering our second pizza was not yet ready. Yo, what? This place has been around since the dawn of (island) time but our main prompt to grabbing lunch here was that it was very, VERY kid-friendly. As in, they have an actual kids menu, which is strangely in rare demand on the Vineyard. A lot of "kid-friendly options" but none with the price point, nawmean? Anyway, I got a meatball parm, wife got a bilstered hot dog, and the kids split a cheese pizza. Firstly, $5 cocktails for bloody marys (maries?) and Cape Codders (vodka crans) during lunch hours. Three cheers for liquoring up parents! Secondly, the pizza is bomb dot com for kids - a bit sweet on the sauce, mostly mozz with a thin, amenable crust for all. They loved it. My meatball sub was BIG baby, but I housed it because I'm not a scrub. Reasonably priced, although our server had to be tracked down for refills and the check. No thang to us, but worthy of a mention to the Yelp faithful. Look, this spot has been around and it's well equipped to feed the masses: grab a slice at its togo window or get the whole dang pie in house. Giordano's is located in the heart of Oak Bluffs, and it is one of the few Italian restaurants on the island. When I dined there they offered a $48.99 meal for two which came with two entrees, two salads, and a bottle of wine. We got the cheese ravioli and linguine with meat sauce, neither of which was overwhelming good. The ravioli was quite flavorless but the linguine was decent. Additionally we got the garlic bread, which served an excellent cheese pull, despite being a bit too garlicky. Overall a good restaurant when you're looking for a hearty meal, but there are definitely more noteworthy restaurants on the island. read more

I am from Jersey, and typically pick up a Jersey Mike's sub on the way to the beach. We went to South Beach, and needed sammwiches. We looked up best sandwiches. Ended up at an awesome place with $20 fancy avocado and chicken subs. Expresso Love was very good, excellent, even, but not an Italian sub. Found Giordano's. Got an Italian, a cheesesteak and a meatball parm. The Italian was great, the meatball was good, but the cheesteak was PERFECT. Went to college in Philly, and this place was up there! This review is for the take-out dining experience. And wow, this place puts the chaos of Neptune Oyster House to shame. All restaurant hell has broken loose here: there's no discernible place where to order and the woman at the pizza counter kept on going back and forth between two windows. Cash only, of course, because they want to make the whole thing as miserable as possible. Over at the seafood counter, the one girl working could not answer A SINGLE question about the food. Where is Larry David on the vineyard when you need him!? There was comic gold happening in Giordano's tonight! The pizza was shockingly good for take-out by the slice. The crust was crispy, the cheese was gooey and both the pepperoni and plain hit the spot. We also got a plate of the whole bellied fried clams and those were far less impressive. A couple actually managed to be crispy, but the majority were limp. Fries were limp and the cole slaw was runny. Put it this way: hunger made the best sauce. No surprises that their picnic tables outside were covered in ketchup, filth, etc. Still we shared the table with a nice guy waiting for his food which made the experience somewhat bearable. I went here with my husband for dinner a few days after they opened for the summer season. We were greeted by a friendly staff and seated. Our wait staff was friendly but inexperienced and not very attentive. We had to ask about the specials and once our meals came, we never saw our wait staff again until we asked another staff person to send her over. The food was ok. I had shrimp with asparagus over fettuccine with pesto and parmigiana. The dish was tasty and they did not skimp on the shrimp or asparagus. I thought my dish was a bit more salty for my preference and the pasta was cooked a little more than al dente. Phil had pizza which he said was delicious. The sausage was very spicy and delicious. This is a family establishment that has been in Oak Bluffs for generations. They are great for families and the price is good, seafood is fresh. read more

When your nephew says the island's best pizza is Giordano's, you have to give it try. Not only have I given it a try, I've been back a few times now. There are actually three 'parts' to this restaurant. They have a full menu dining room which I've not yet tried, the pizzeria, and a seafood counter of sorts. You can order pizza at one counter and seafood (and other items) at another counter. Walk-up business tends to be plentiful so I suggest calling ahead with your order. Their online pizza menu is somewhat confusing, however, so I find it easier to call them. The pizza is good. Very good. They have a good crust which is crispy and chewy. They have a tasty, savory sauce and I find they don't skimp on their toppings. I haven't tried many other pizza places on the island just yet but why bother when your nephew says this is the best?! read more

I have a long connection with giordano's. I used to eat here with my parents as a kid as long ago as the 1980s and later evolved to ordering fried clams and scallops at the takeout window. So I will probably continue going here when I'm on the vineyard. Most recently, the wife and I ordered a bunch of fried food, scallops, clams, and fries. The scallops and clams were good. Unfortunately, this restaurant has changed from the good thin fries to what I assume are cheaper fries with a bunch of potato skin on them. They were also a little bitter and required crazy amounts of ketchup. Not delicious, but we had a lot of other food and next time will know better and not order the fries. Another issue was that the scallops were swimming in frier oil. I get that this is deep fried food, but this was too much (see photo of oil at bottom of carton). read more
