Joey I'm sorry, you had a great indoor ambience and wonderful staff when I came to pick up our takeout order (two large pizzas, two salads) but I was floored when the bill came to $120 (including 20% tip) for what we got and more specifically, the quality. I know food (especially pizza) rapidly decreases in quality when you order takeout, but given the price I wouldn't recommend this pizza. The crust was a little stale, and the flavours were forgetful. Sorry Joey, everything else was great, love the spot you're in and the atmosphere / staff were great, the product itself though just really lacking given the cost. read more

We've been longtime fans of Joey's Pizza, but our recent visit left us frustrated. We ordered a half cheese, half mushroom and onion pizza for takeout, and were charged $27. On top of that, a $5 tip was automatically added--just for the server to place the pizza on the counter for pickup. That brought our total to $32 for a single pizza, which is outrageous. I don't understand why there would be an automatic tip for minimal service, especially when I didn't have the option to decide the amount myself. We ordered in and got our pizzas and salad in under 20 minutes. The girl taking our order was great - delivering our pies and refilling our beers. The pizza is deceivingly crispy and absolutely delicious! This is true, thin crust pizza with a flavorful sauce. The only downside was the Greek salad. There were quite a few brown and soggy pieces of lettuce, which I'm assuming is because they pre-packed the salads in the containers then just serve as they are ordered. Not sure if mushrooms belong in a Greek salad, but the dressing was good. read more

Always 5 stars at Joey's! Just inhaled a dozen oysters while waiting for a large pepperoni to go! We love Joey's!!

For the price, I was expecting much better quality food. Small 2-topping pizza and a Greek salad came to about $35. Pizza didn't have enough sauce or cheese on it, which dried the dough out. I don't think I've ever ordered a pizza where I could see bare spots of dough where the sauce and cheese should be. Greek salad was fresh, but included some ingredients I've never seen on a Greek salad before (mushrooms? Red cabbage?) plus the pita was stale and the black olives were clearly just dumped from a can. On the plus side the dine-in area appeared clean and the staff was friendly. We ordered a pie and fried clams (they had run out), we were offered chicken tenders instead. The pizza was very good, crispy with good sauce and cheese. This has always been our go to spot for pizza on the Cape. Its a local friendly pizza place with heart behind its product. Being from NY, this a actually a pretty good slice. Summer time can be very busy, so be prepared to have a 2hr wait from your order. Staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I am so sorry we had to go twice. The wait was worth it. Pizza was light. Not too cheesy not to oily NOR too bready...have to say it...just right. Good flavor. Order early. Spaghetti hit the spot. I am super picky about my pizza and Joey's was GOOOD!. It is a thin crust, New York style of pizza. They also have a fairly big menu, which includes subs and appetizers. We ended up going here twice the week we were staying in the area. They are clearly short staffed, due to the labor shortage, but they were still nice and efficient. They told us up front how long our food would take, which we appreciated. The do serve alcohol, so you can wait for food with a drink. Will go back. read more

Joey's is a great pizza for place. I grew up in MA and lived 30 years in CT close to New Haven so I have experienced a lot of great pizza places and this is one of them. Great crispy thin crust pizza with a perfect combination of sauce and cheese that makes it very tasty. It isn't greasy and swamped with cheese like other not so good pizza places. The owner and staff are very friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is very clean. They always repeat to you what you have ordered to ensure they get the order correct. Worth waiting for ! This has been one of our regular Cape food stops for years. On a summer Friday, the wait can be long. This evening the pizza back log was two hours as new visitors headed to Joey's for a good meal. That the customers are dedicated enough to wait for their food is a testimony to the quality and flavour. The staff was very accommodating and professional. In addition, we ordered chowder and onion rings to enjoy our time as the pizza cooked. They were delivered in short order by Joey's wife. All were gracious! Thie out door patio is a pleasure on hot days and has a refreshing breeze. The location is on a neighbourhood street just back from the beach. There is private parking; however, this is a neighbourhood so don't expect endless spaces. Calling ahead is a option for take out orders. There is a small bar with draft and bottled beer. Wine and mixed drinks are also available. The restaurant is kid friendly and has a 50's and 60's motif. In addition, the staff was good with all groups, including children and seniors. The bathrooms are also easily accessible and clean. Joey's continually reaffirms our trust and admiration. It will be on our Cape list well into the future ! read more

The family got a pizza and two kids meals (chicken tenders and pasta with sauce). Pizza is pretty good here (for Cape Cod). And kids meals were also very good. The restaurant itself is sort of like a self-service shack. You order at the counter, seat yourself either inside or outside, and eventually they bring out the food. This can be enjoyable or not - depending on mood and expectations. Sometimes I don't want a waitress and big sit-down meal. And sometimes I'm in a sit-outside-on-a-picnic-table kind of mood. As such, my mood will probably determine if/when I return. I could also see myself doing take-out here. This is one of those where I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. It was enjoyable enough for (really) good rating, but not sure it's worthy of being equated to a lot of the 4-Star restaurants I've reviewed. I will always give 5 stars to Joey and his staff because they are the friendliest bunch of people. As far as the pizza goes, I love the taste and it had ample amount of toppings on it. The crust was a little soggy. I prefer a crisper crust. I also get frustrated that you can't order half a topping. If you order 1/2 a topping, they charge for a full topping. The egg plant topping is wonderful, but I am the only one who likes it. I love that the pepperoni is a bit spicy. As I mentioned the egg plant is also delicious. I tried this place out on Memorial day. We just got a thin crust plain cheese pizza and two drinks to try it out. When the receipt came it ended up being a lot more than I was told it would be . Turned out there was a mistake and I got charged close to $40 instead of the $25 I should have gotten charged. The owner called me back personally apologized and made things right. Offering me my choice of cash or food, whatever I wanted. Also offered me drinks as well . Really good owner cares about his busines, and being fair and honest. This place is fantastic! Wow. It's not very big but it's good for families and friends alike. There are pics of 60's and 70's stars scattered throughout the place and that really creates the fun environment that is found there. They offer pizza, subs, oysters, steamers and adult beverages as well. THere is this guy named Henry who is too cool ! So nice, attentive and really seemed to have the staff rolling very smoothly. This little pizza shop is convenient if staying in Dennis Port. The sign on the outside of the establishment states numerous "best of" awards. Therefore, being a huge fan pizza. My only guilty pleasure, I was excited to try their pizza. I ordered a standard large cheese. There is nothing to write home about. Truthfully I'm not sure what the hype's about...maybe the fact that there isn't a whole lot for food happening in this little community. Don't misread this, it's not awful, just middle of the road. What really stood out: Friendly staff. A true family feel, though not sure if they were related to the owner or not. The shop is spotless. I would expect that this came close to Ace"ing" it's health inspection. Prices were reasonable. read more

Best Pizza on the Cape by far. This place is much more than a pizza joint, they have Oysters , Steamers a full menu. Also a full bar and pitchers or glasses of Beer. Everyone working there is friendly and personable. If you get to meet Joey, the owner, what a great guy. He is a hands on owner who also works the kitchen and pops out when he can to say hello. This past Thursday we ordered pizza from Joey's. We had a long day at Rock Harbor and just wanted something quick and easy. We had others from our big family vaca go pick it up. They told us that is was a 50-60 min wait if you to just go there and order pizza. Not really sure why?! The also told us that the lady that helped them was very helpful, pleasant and double checked to make sure we have to right order. The pizza were a bit disappointing. We ordered 6 different pizzas. 2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, 1 green pepper and onion and 1 (supposed to be) fresh mozzarella and tomato. Well they definitely do not know how to do fresh mozzarella and tomato! All the pizzas lacked flavor and there was almost no sauce on any of the pieces I had. I ate about 5 pieces hoping it was going to get better and it never did. Wait service: going off the people that picked it up the lady that helped was nice. Food quality: not good at all! It was like cardboard with a hint of flavor. Wait time: because we called ahead it really wasn't much of a wait for the people to pick it up. Atmosphere: not really sure since it was takeout and I didn't physically go to the restaurant. Sorry Joey but you will not be on my list of favorite pizza places.
