OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL SERVICE FROM RONNIE ROCHA!!! On June 12th 2018 we were the victims of a "smash and grab" in broad daylight in Corning, CA. The thieves shattered a window in our Prius and took suitcases, a backpack and a laptop bag with the laptop in it. We reported the incident to the police and decided to continue on to our destination (Oregon) and have the window fixed there. However, after driving about 20 miles the check engine light came on, and then the brake light came on. We pulled over and, after a lot of research finally found a place in Redding that could diagnose our problem. Luckily that place was ROCHA'S AUTO SERVICE. We had our Prius towed there and met Ronnie Rocha. We got there at closing time, but he couldn't have been more caring and helpful. He really went way beyond what was expected and offered to loan us his car so we could replace some of the things that were stolen and find a hotel. We offered to pay him but he wouldn't take our money. About 11 that night we got a call from the police saying they had recovered some of our stolen property. We called Ronnie the next morning and he let us drive his car 60 miles to retrieve our things (everything was there except the laptop itself). That afternoon we picked up our car, fully repaired. I had a smog done on my vehicle last year. Before taking it in, my battery died & I had to have it replaced. What I didn't know was after having a battery replaced, I had to drive my vehicle about 50 miles. Rocha didn't charge me to rerun the smog, which my vehicle passed no problem. A year later (now), my husband's car needed a smog & I suggested he take it to Rocha's. The man at the counter said it would take about 25 minutes. It actually took less than 20 & there was a car in front of his! We waited in the lobby which is very comfortable with a big couch and 2 separate chairs with foot stools. In addition to comfy seating, Rocha's has complimentary coffee and tea as well as fresh doughnuts! I must have been excited to sit back, watch t.v. on a nice flat screen and eat my doughnut while sipping coffee because after I left, I realized I left my wallet there! I realized this only after I got to AAA where my husband registered his vehicle. After standing in line for about 15 minutes, in addition to the 10 it took us to drive there was when I realized I didn't have my wallet. I called Rocha's immediately only to find the had it for me! The service is excellent & they are a very trustworthy & reputable business for smog and repairs. For those wondering where to take your vehicle, I absolutely suggest Rocha's. I started using Rocha's services because they offered the cheapest smog in Redding, and I have continued to use them ever since for both my vehicles. The family is very friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their customers, and they offer an incredible two-year guarantee, which they fully stand behind, unlike a few other shops I've used who put guaranteed work on the back burner. Rocha's fine tuned my duel air-conditioning system, a touchy thing in an big van, as soon as I brought it back in. Also, their guarantee is transferable to other certified shops around the country. I love to travel, so it's nice to call the 800 number and get equally trained mechanics anywhere I go and who will also cover Rocha's guarantee. I know because I used the service in Idaho and received polite and concerned help finding automotive shops in the area to look at my car. I've overpaid for terrible auto services around Redding for 30 years, and feel blessed to have finally found nice, honest, professional, reasonably-priced mechanics. so unfortunately I'm having to change my opinion about Rochas Automotive Care. I just had my car oil and filter changed on Wednesday. That $90 I thought was a bit steep but I don't mind paying a little more for good service. But not 10 miles down the road on the freeway. My check engine light goes off. I thought is it the old trick loosen a wire to make the person come back and have to have more work done? Not sure yet because I haven't been able to take it in to get it checked but that was at the back of my mind. So I gave them the opportunity by calling and asking how much would it be to have the car checked for the light problem. They told me it was $175!!!! And no credit for that would go to any kind of work or cost of the repair or replacement for that problem. Wow and I didn't even get kissed!! So I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer. To find out if they did something to it if they do, watch out!!! But either way I will never go back. I think $175 to put something on a machine for 5 minutes is totally unacceptable. You lost a customer that could have been for life! read more

I was finally fed up with the droning, brain melting drone coming from the back of the Highlander at higher speeds. We were fairly confident that it would be the rear bearings. Rocha's Auto confirmed our suspicions and went above and beyond to walk us through the discovery process. They took pictures that we could view securely online. They texted us (our preferred method) and were patient with our questions and requests. Also, they helped us prioritize the recommended services based on risk and urgency. They were up front with us about which services were based on safety and which were simply preventative. They were not aggressive but patient and direct. Rocha's really has their act together!! We recently bought a used vehicle at a reputable dealership in Marin. Later that evening, after looking closer, we noted some worrisome rust damage on the under carriage. We were able to get into RAS that very next day, and within several hours had not only a comprehensive service evaluation, but amazing on line photographs of the extent of rusting and evidence of an active rodent nest!! The dealership was very embarrassed and received the car back later that week with full reimbursement/no restocking fee!! I am certain that we would not have been able to negotiate without the savvy and professional assistance and attention to detail we received from Rocha's!! This was my second visit to Rocha's Auto Service. My first visit was quite accidental as I had a flat tire and just stopped at the first auto shop I came to. The guys were great, helped me out without my having an appointment and fixed my flat tire. While waiting I spent time watching and listening to how they dealt with the other customers. I heard knowledge, fairness, a willingness to help and courtesy. Because of that experience I returned for some routine maintenance. I was not disappointed. I was given an appointment that was convenient for me, my car was serviced in the time promised, the service report was all thoroughly reviewed with me. Great experience working with Rocha's family team. I live in Bay Area but work occasionally in Redding and had Rocha's fix an oil leak one year ago. My car started a slow leak again and fortunately I had work in Redding so Rocha's can check the cause. It was a different leak and Rocha's repaired it. They double checked other possible sources were they found a loose bolt on timing belt cover, and tightened it so I would avoid a third leak. What they did very well included a quick check while I waited to make sure it wasn't just a leaky oil filter, confirmed it was not their work from a year back, and had an estimate since they identified the cause. They drove me quickly to my job, and would have picked me up if I needed. Best of all, their rates are 15% less than Bay Area rates. read more

I had a great experience at Rocha's Auto. I went there for after market warranty service, they fully inspected the vehicle and provided a link with photos and descriptions of all the issues with my truck. Due to some questionable repairs done on the truck before I purchased it I elected to have the dealer repair the truck. Rocha's auto charged me a minimal fee and gave me a link to Give to the dealers shop describing all the issues they found with photos. Wow ! ! ! They said they do pre purchase inspections on vehicle's that will be a " Have to do " for any vehicle I buy in the future. Best place in town! They're always nice and upbeat, waiting room is always clean and there's coffee. Came in for a smog check with a truck that'd been stored for 5 years, without making me wait they hooked it up to the OBD ll reader and told me my sensors weren't ready and I need to drive it some more. Unfortunately, that happened one more time (I changed the battery so it reset everything- my bad) but they didn't waste my time and we're totally cool about it, spoke to me about how the computer system works, I really appreciated that. Came it today, 1/18/20, same great guys and great upbeat attitudes had me in and out in 20 min! Awesome. Been there with my two other vehicles too and will again in the future. I love their communication and technology. They actually have a system that emails you with a description what they found was wrong with your car and photos to support their findings. Also, once, we came in thinking there was something wrong with the alternator. The guy at the front desk came out with a gadget and checked the battery (which was new). He found out it was something with the spark plug and fixed it on the spot. Didn't charge us for anything. They could have faked a problem with the alternator and charged us a few hundred dollars, but they were honest and that deserves all the kudos in the area of mechanics and auto repair. Third time I've take a car to Rocha's and will return again and again. Truly kind, deeply professional, and as cliched as it may sound, I always feel like family when getting my car serviced. This time, I had to get my husband's car smogged, but because it had sat for a while and the check engine light popped on, it wasn't a straightforward trip to Rocha's. Jose, however was patient and advised of what was going on (the car needed to be driven a lot of miles before the error message would self-clear). I love this family-owned business. Rocha's has been taking care of my 1998 Durango for years - old as she is - much work has been done on her but I never feel gouged with their pricing and they don't give you a song-and-a-dance about this needs to be done and that needs to be done! I think they're very competitive in the Redding area. They are great at accommodating the customer - weather sitting and waiting for service to be done - or dropping off. When I drop off my car they even take me home and pick-me up!! That's service....and they always appreciate my business. Many of my friends use Rocha's as well. They know I'll be back!! I admit it. When it comes to anything automotive, I am a total dunce. Ask me anything about a household budget or how to make a spectacular quilt and, sure, I can do that. But when it comes to the mechanical operation of a vehicle my brain just shuts down. Its so good to know that Rocha's Auto Service has my back. We just purchased a used truck from a private party and needed a smog check and oil change. Since our house is within walking distance we figured give Rocha's Auto Service a shot. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted by Ronnie. Completely impressed with their professional attitude and courteous staff. They offered to drop my off since I planned to walk. Excellent and prompt service! Made an appointment for smog certification. I arrived 5 minutes early. They helped me immediately and I was holding my certification and leaving in less than 20 minutes. They also were nice enough to remedy my quart low oil situation by putting more in (I had a quart in my trunk, but the engine was always hot when I thought to do it so I've been staring at this warning for a couple of days.) Have been going to another company for smog check since I moved to Shasta County over 16 years ago. Went to Rocha's the other day and was very pleasantly surprised! They have a very large, comfortable waiting room (unlike the other place) and it only took maybe 5 to 10 minutes from the time I saw them take my car back to when I saw them bring it back, and the customer service was very friendly and helpful. The staff at Rocha's are extremely professional and friendly. They are open on Saturday, which is fantastic for those of us that work during the week and need our vehicle to get to work. I chose to leave my vehicle for the day to have it repaired, they called to let me know what the problem was and gave me options on the work that could be done.
