After years of animosity for towing companies due to parking mishaps here in Austin (damn you, West Campus!) and in New Haven, it's really weird feeling the need to leave a good review for a towing company. I guess the difference is that for the first time, I actually WANTED someone to come take my car away. One horrible, horrible morning, my car refused to start. It wasn't the battery; I'd just had it replaced last month, and all my electric stuff (lights, radio, power windows, etc.) still worked, the car just did not want to start. I was in a horrible mood after trying to deal with my car outside in the freezing sleet-y rain, but thankfully I had a great experience with the towing company. Everyone I dealt with at Rocha's was very professional and super friendly. The dispatcher took down my info, and called me back within 10 minutes to let me know someone was on the way. I think it took about 15-20 minutes total for them to get to my house. The guy who came out to tow was also very friendly. We discussed the issue I was having and straightened out details about where it was going. Since I'd already arranged for someone to receive it at the service station, I didn't have to ride along, but he let me know I was welcome to watch the process as he got my car onto the truck, and left me his card. Oh, and though their billing was taken care of through the dealership I was having my service at, so I didn't actually pay them directly, they do charge a flat rate, which is handy to know. I think it's $65 if it's under 4 miles. Anyway, as you can imagine, all those details are on their website. All in all a good experience, though I hope to never have to have it again lol. read more

My car broke down Monday after work in Austin and had to have it towed, I called Rocha's towing and they were Awesome to work with. They told me it would be about 2 hours to be picked up and brought to my house in Kyle and it was almost to the minute. Manny was my driver and he couldn't be more professional. When he brought it, he called me to let me know he had arrived, let me know how everything went with the tow and put it in my driveway without tearing anything up. My wife and I found ourselves out in the evening running errands when our car died. I thought it had been fixed but I was wrong. I have AT&T's Road Assistance coverage and dialed it immediately. They told me they were sending out a tow truck and I asked for the name and number (my previous experience with tow truck operators was marginal, at best). Their driver, Ian, called me within minutes to confirm our location...and it's a good thing he did. Turns out they were sending him to a similar sounding location nearly 15 miles away (same east to west street). After I gave him our correct location and hung up on the call I realized that the delays I had experienced in the past all had to do with the driver having been given incorrect information...the difference they only called after an hour to tell me they couldn't find me...and in two instances in the past they didn't call at all. Upon Ian's arrival he asked first if he could take a quick look to see if there was anything he could the cause for the problem. After concluding there was nothing he could find, he hooked us up and took us immediately to our destination. Ian was very professional, extremely conscientious of our situation/problem and I found his customer service to be better than I ever expected. I apologized to him for not having any cash because I would have liked to have given him a tip. He said it wasn't necessary...he asked me to remember Rocha Towing if I ever had trouble again. I laughed because I have 4 vehicles and daughters drive two of them. Wouldn't you know it...When we arrived at home my daughter had locked her keys in her car with the motor running...he popped the lock in a matter of seconds. As I read what I have written it all sounds to good to be true...but these are the facts. I hope anyone reading this never has to use a tow service, but if you do, it's a mistake not calling these guys...and when you do, ask for Ian...you'll be glad you did. Fred read more

Nobody ever wants to deal with getting their car out of an impound lot. It typically means something bad has happened. My husband was in a vehicle accident (not his fault) and ended up in ICU. His scooter was impounded and it was important for me to get the scooter out of impound while I had time. Manny went above and beyond to help me when I was out of sorts. Had a great experience with these guys today. Got my car towed after an accident. The person on the phone was prompt and friendly. No shadiness which can sometimes happen with tow companies. The employee that towed my car was named Jackson and he was wonderful. He was funny and knew what he was doing. I was really happy with the service and they allowed me to pay with credit card and were upfront with the price. Some places pressure you to pay cash but this wasn't the case here. Fast service! I called for a non-emergency tow around 7:00pm on a Friday night and a truck arrived within 20 minutes! The tow truck driver was friendly and he loaded my car on the truck within minutes. And they charged a reasonable flat fee of $70. Other tow companies wanted as much as $125 for the same tow. I was in a wreck late at night, and assumed that I would then have to deal with some toe truck company that would over charge me and make matters worse. I could not have been more wrong. The technician was polite, easy going, and most importantly, worked very quickly. My car was on the truck and we were on our way within 8 minutes. When I got to the shop, it was more of the same. They went through my options with me (this was my first wreck) and were very forthcoming about exactly what I should do, and even said they would give me a discount if I needed it towed somewhere else. Today I needed my car towed to dealership to have new battery installed. I called Rocha's and I am so glad I did. My initial call was handled quickly and professionally and the truck came within an hour as mentioned. Andy, the driver, was very friendly and did his magic to get my vehicle out of its parking space onto the truck (and this wasn't easy task but he did it flawlessly without having the ability to use wheel due to technology locking wheel) Within 15 mins my car was up on flatbed and we were off to Infiniti. He and I engaged in conversation the entire time and I felt safe while in his cab because he has exceptional driving skills. He definitely is a master of his trade. I know that if I ever need another towing company for either of my vehicles, without a doubt, I will be contacting Rocha's again. (Just FYI, Andy currently only works weekends). What a fine towing company! My ignition key was locked, so I couldn't start my car. I called Rocha's, and to try saving me the expense of towing, the person who answered gave me some suggestions for getting the key out. The suggestions didn't work, so he arranged for a tow truck to come, and it came fast. Just as the tow truck was pulling up, I wrenched the key out with pliers. So I didn't need the tow truck after all. Instead of being mad that he'd made the trip for nothing, Louis, the driver, was extremely nice about his wasted trip! Jaime Rocha failed to keep a proper lookout when he was in my vehicle and backed into me as I was walking behind causing me to incur THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in medical expenses that their insurance company has denied because they are only covered when they are driving their tow trucks, not other peoples cars. Update: My car recently died (on South Lamar during rush hour) and because of a warranty, the dealership gave me a number to call for towing they'd pay for. The driver arrived right on time (as if by magic through Lamar gridlock), and was exceptionally professional and friendly. The staff was more than helpful with assisting in the recovery of my friends vehicle. My friend suffered a stroke and has no memory of when or where the vehicle was towed from, but she did spend the last 2 months in the hospital before discharge. The bills for tow and storage were large $1,690.00 , but the staff was more than courteous and willing to assist more so that what I had expected. My friend had an episode while paying at the counter and passed out, and the staff even assisted me by bringing water. The staff probably witnesses many crazy things, and I am grateful that they were polite throughout the ordeal. In the end I had to arrange for the vehicle to be towed to another garage, and a staff member (Matty or Manny I believe) provided as much assistance as the business could with a discounted rate to move the vehicle across town. Towing companies in general are crooks!!! Rocha's is at the top of the heap. Crooks, Greedy, Slimey. My son was in a wreck on 360 where he rear ended another car during rush hour. He is only 18 and it was his first wreck. After the police took the statements, wrote the accident report and swapped insurance information Rocha's towed his car to their lot without his approval. They didn't bother to ask him. They told me that the police (who by the way do not own the car either) gave them permission. They charged me $150 for the tow. The accident was at 7pm on a Tuesday. I picked up the car at 5pm on Thursday (less than 48 hours) because I was out of town traveling and they would not let my son pick up the car because he was not the registered owner. They charged me 3 days of storage at $20/day = $60. They also charged me $50 for a "notification letter"???? They said it was mandated by the state!! They sent me a letter notifiying me that that they towed my car!!!!!!!!!!! What a scam!!! A TOTAL OF $286.00!!!!!!!!!!!!Total BS since the state of Texas does not regulate the fees of towing companies. I asked them why they didn't ask my son where he wanted the car towed (maybe a body shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and their reply was that it was not their responsibility. Unbelievalble GREED and ARROGANCE. I drove the car off of their lot which means it could have been driven the day of the accident to our house which was .5 miles from the accident. My car died in the rain on the left side of the infamously crowded highway south 71 bridge and I was stuck and being close to getting clipped by cars. I called Rochas Towing and we were able to work something out and get me a flatbed. I had no idea where I was but somehow the driver found me in just 15 minutes!!! Harry was friendly and well mannered and helped me load my car. He was very adamant about my safety being on the highway and that meant so much . We went on our way and got the car home . I contacted another towing service (based on Yelp reviews) and after two hours of no response, contacted them again - they had written down my number incorrectly so couldn't let me know about the wait. The wait was going to be another 1-2 hours, which they acknowledged should have been communicated up front. So...I contacted Rocha's who had a tow truck to me within 45 minutes. My car died on me and I needed a tow out of a small parking lot. I called and was scheduled a tow within the hour. My driver Steven arrived and assessed my cars location, it was not an easy spot to access. He first tried to push my car out of the spot by himself but he couldn't do it alone. He went to move his truck over to wench my car forward but a delivery truck pulled in to block where he needed to go. When the driver returned Steven asked to help him push the car and that helped. The car was finally in a better position to load it up onto his truck. He was very considerate and let me sit in his truck because of chilly weather while he completed the tow. Rude... No customer service. Had three people come to window to help me and none of them knew what they were doing (what form, what I needed to fill out ... Ugh). I was cleaning the mess from my daughter's accident out of her car in 100 degree weather with no ventilation ( couldn't roll down windows) and the only person who offered assistance or even acknowledged my presence was the man who was driving the tow truck who was the rocha's employee.
