I visited only once with a friend and doubt I will be back. It was convenient for the errands we were running that day. There is decent parking, and the place is clean and well decorated on the inside. I didn't eat the food so I can't tell you if it was good or not, but the service was NOT. There was one woman working and she seemed annoyed that we were even there. I'm big on service and used to work in the industry myself. My boss would have been ticked had I treated our customers this way. After sitting at the bar about 5 feet from her for a good 5 minutes she finally asked if she could help us. There were only a few other patrons, also sitting at the bar, and they all had their drinks in front of them. As with the first drink, the next took so long to order I also asked for my tab just to make sure I could get out of there when I was finished. I hate to leave bad reviews, but it's not that hard to pay attention to your customers when you don't have a whole lot of them. After all, it is what you are paid to do. read more

I don't know what happened but the burgers are definitely not as good as they once were and the menu is much smaller than before. The last couple times the burger was not as juicy or well seasoned as it once was. The bun was dry, not fresh, and had not been heated on the grill. Rock-a-Billie's has a cute rockabilly theme going on. It's spacious red, black, and white interior punctuated by cool car decor, black and white photos of the likes of Elvis, James Dean, and Marlon Brando, and odd bits of 50s kitsch, seemed like a fun choice. The sign said to seat ourselves, so we chose one of the small round tables with metal chairs because the booths were full. The waitress greeted us as we made our way to the table; we returned the greeting, sat down, and were ignored. We gave it some time because the place was understaffed. We sat for 15 minutes as the waitress passed us by multiple times, looking directly at us more than once. There was ample opportunity to drop some menus and grab our drink order. A woman who came in after us was given a menu. We finally gave up hope of getting to try one of the delicious - looking burgers and left. It must be a booming business to be able to essentially run off customers who are ready to spend. We weren't bummy, nor were we overdressed, so I really don't get it. We were looking for a night out and the middling crowd seemed to fit. The dance floor looked great and I anticipated hearing the Lucky Ones play some good old school r-billy. They ruined our night for sure because places for middling people to have fun aren't on every corner. I won't try again. read more

Visiting from out of state. Found Rockabilly on here and thought we'd give it a try. It's nothing like advertised. They have no food other than appetizers and burgers. We went at 6pm on a Thursday and there was only one waitress working and she was mainly focused on the bar. We sat there for 10 minutes and were never acknowledged. We heard this place had good burgers, from the Curves ladies next door. Now, I don't know about you, but any restaurant endorsed by a group of people who love to eat is worth trying to me. We stopped in around 5 on a Saturday. They seemed pretty busy for fairly early on a Saturday- the bar was full, and there was a steady stream of people coming and going. Beer prices seemed standard- $5 per pint. PBRs were $2, cheaper than Coke ($2.25)! They had a pretty good draught beer selection- Guinness, Stella, and I think she even said Paulaner, among a few others. We all ordered burgers and smothered fries, and mac and cheese rolls. The waitress recommended these, and I can see why. Homemade mac and cheese (and BACON, hello) wrapped in spring roll wrappers and fried. Served with marinara (which was entirely unnecessary), those little buggers were a perfect bar food- crispy, greasy, salty, and delicious. They got our hopes up for the real food. Smothered fries were very good- the chile tasted a lot like Santiago's, which the waitress confirmed is what it actually was. Nothing wrong with that- if it ain't broke.... The burgers, for only $3.50, were an exceptionally good deal, and were really freaking good. Buns were fluffy and seemed homemade, the burgers were huge and juicy, and we ate them all and left completely stuffed. All in all, I'd say we were all pleasantly surprised by the food here. We have had the smoked hot wings a number of times over the last five or six years at rockabillies, and when we came in this week and had them for lunch they didn't even seem like they were smoked as they were nearly flavorless and they were not very crispy and we did not enjoy them at all. We probably will never order them again there which is unfortunate since it's our neighborhood bar. read more

I went to Rockabillies on their Grand Opening weekend and it was a blast! I saw Cora Vette and the Vinyl Tops and the Hillbilly Hellcats as well as some Burlesque which was a lot of fun. I got there too late to sample the food but I nibbled on a friend's freshly made chips and they were great. The waitresses and bartenders were friendly and the place was packed! I am told there is only one other place in this area but I would drive there again for the rockabilly scene and some fun. If you like blues,swing music, rockabilly, old fashioned cars, and anything retro than this is probably a good place for you! read more

What an odd experience! We came in because of the RockaBillie name and a desire for a wonderful margarita. My friend loves good tequila, and we each ordered a grand- margarita ... a Gran Mariner float on the top of a margarita. I have had many of these drinks and have never had an issue. When we got the bill, though, we were charged over $30 for the 2 drinks. When questioned, our charming bartender said that she charged a $7 extra fee above the cost of each drink because she gave us a strong pour for the float. I bartended for years and discussed this wierd charge with her, but she left it as - is. If she had asked us would you like me to put a full shot and charge you for it in each margarita we would've said no! This experience left us feeling as though we were being treated like outsiders and people who are too stupid to notice what was charged. This put me off the bar completely. read more

This is by far my favorite bar in Arvada. Not only is the atmosphere chill, but the food is really good. I usually get a simple cheeseburger and I always end up raving about it. I don't know why they are so tasty, but I am definitely a fan. When I stop in after the ktichen is closed I always feel a bit sad that I missed out on one of the burgers. Normally I just come here for drinks, though. Lisa is an amazing bartender and she makes every visit fun. She is definitely a huge part of the reason my friend and I keep coming back here as some of the other staff members aren't as friendly. If you enjoy live music this is a pretty cool place to check out, but I sometimes hate stopping in on karaoke night--that alone lost Rockabillies a star. The new outdoor seating area also seems cool--I have yet to sit out there, but I probably will someday. I think it's a great option for the nights when I don't want to sit and listen to the karaoke. read more

I came out here on a Friday night because Reckless Red was playing. According to the sign, it's Rockabillies favorite band and they were fantastic. Also, there is live music there every Friday with NO cover. You can't beat free. If you can find a way to do it, I want to hang out with you and learn your secrets. Enough about the freebies, lets talk about this venue. First off, the food was decent and it wasn't expensive. Poor people can actually afford to eat and drink here. Plus, there was a sign saying that they are going to be starting a Wisconsin Fish Fry in like two weeks. Now, I'm not sure if its really a true Wisconsin fish fry because you can get perch, haddock, and other tasty lake fish at an all you can eat price. As soon as I have another Friday off, I'm going to be trying that out because it's the one thing I miss from growing up in Wisconsin. Now, I just had a Shock Top for beer but I know they have some Alaskan beer on tap. I didn't get the full menu so I may have to report back on that when I don't have to shout at the waitress because live music is playing. Lastly, Johnny Cash is on a mural there. I love Johnny Cash. There is also an old Vegas mural as well. I love Vegas. This place symbolizes the things I love. I'll definitely go back. It's a bit of downtown in a hidden location. Go there. read more

Told us burgers were prepared medium and we asked for medium rare and we were served well done hockey puck type burgers. No one checked back with us after the meal was served. I came to Rockabillies on a Friday night and it was BUSY. But I think there's a very good reason for that. Arvada, Lakewood and all the west suburbs are dying for more places like this. Unique and interesting bars that don't involve driving all the way to Denver. We made it for the tail end of happy hour (3-7), which is $2 drafts/wells and a $1 off everything else. The bar menu is pretty decent. I ordered a chicken wrap and it was actually delicious, complete with what were either homemade or really good potato chips. A notch above your typical bar food. The layout of the place is pretty cool, kind of dark 50's diner-ish. They had a line up of rockabilly/surf rock bands and no cover to get in. Also a good mix of younger and older people. The one negative I would give is that the waitress completely ignored us, which I didn't understand since she was helping people sitting to the right and left of us. Hopefully bad wait staff like that will be weeded out as this place becomes more popular. And the bartender who I ordered my food and drinks from was really nice, so I guess that evens it out. Dem Nachos do! We came for one reason and one reason only: nachos. And we weren't let down. Huge pile of nachos came to us, yes, pile... We got them with additional pulled pork, which honestly want necessary. The beef that comes with them was pretty tasty. This was one of my favorite places to eat until today. We had a large party of 8 adults and decided to meet here so we were told by staff to push some tables together, apparently no one informed the "owner" and as we received our 3rd round of drinks she came over and rudely interrupted us and bitched that we were taking up too many tables and we were not to move them....then slammed chairs and cursed out loud about it. I feel like she went to the kitchen and stopped our order because it took over an hour to get our food and it came out sporadically. Rockabillies has some of my favorite local bands play on the weekends (The Living Deads, The Atomic Drifters, The Pin-Up Boys, etc.). The sound, for the size, is great. My only complaints are the size of the dance floor and the location of the joint. I know, I know, it's a bar first and a dance floor... not first. But how, oh how, am I suppose to not hit other dancers when the dance floor is hoppin'. Oh and that it does with the lineup of bands they select. Location, that's more of a "wish list" item. I wish that it was closer to Denver because I'd go more often! read more

Nice place for a delicious burger. I'm not usually a big fan of dive bars, but this place was definitely on the refined end of dive-y. I thought the burgers were delicious but having to buy fries on the side is a little much- I mean, we're going to buy drinks anyway, can't you just put a little bunch of fries next to my burger? Yelp did it again. We were quite pleased with this place. Fair Warning: it is a bar. Not the coziest place ever, and a bit dark, but very clean (for a bar) and not too cluttered. We had lunch here, and there were only a few people inside, but I imagine it is busier as it gets later. They do have live music sometimes. We both had burgers, fries and a salad. The burgers were excellent and were clearly hand-made, and the buns and toppings were fresh. The menu isn't very extensive, but prices are very fair. This is the best local bar around this area. I was there for a benefit for a child that has Metopic Craniosynostosis hosted By Rockabillies. The band FortNight played on stage, amazing musicians. I had the Memphis Burger with onion rings, It was huge and cooked to perfection. They must have a true Chef in the kitchen. I could not eat it all. It is a full service bar so you can order almost anything. The draft beers are a little sparse, however they are good. I had the Apricot Wheat, it paired well with the Memphis burger. The Service was also very good. Everyone I talked at this event all gave it a thumbs up. I did hear that some reviewer wouldn't donate to this cause because he overheard someone say there was a 20% discount from Rockabillies going to this benefit. That was wrong, it is purchase from the Arvada Black Jack Pizza. Be careful what you overhear! read more

We went to Rockabillies for the first time to see Jonny Barber perform his last "Velvet Elvis" show. The place was packed, but the staff was incredibly friendly and busted butt. It all started with the doorman making us feel like we were regulars and his lovely wife (the hostess with the mostess), treating us like we were family. BTW, creating a 4 top out of a tiny drink table was pure genius - we really did appreciate that! The waitress that served us earned every penny and we tipped her very well for it. Honestly, with that size crowd, I was impressed how great the service was! Touching on previous reviews: Yes, it's a bar, but a bar with an eclectic group of patrons and a mix of retro, hip, and mid-west ambiance. Oh, and the $4 burgers are out-of-this world! This bar/restaurant has it all. Great food, beer, prices, selection and live music. The menu has really grown and all of it is super tasty. The live bands that are brought in on the weekends are some of Denver' s finest. The themed weekends (ie: Wisconsin Fish Fry, Craw Fish Boil Blues Fest and Pin-up Car Shows) that are done add a flare that most bars do not have. The staff and management aim to please and provide a fun, customer friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend trying it out. If you love music and good food this is the place for you. read more

Stopped by for a burger after a baseball game....Tuesday night....cool place, relaxed atmosphere and the clientele was a mix of generations. Interesting decor -- good selection from the bar. Ordered the bleu+bacon burger -- huge meaty burger, bun was grilled and it came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion - ready for you to add what you like. The waitress and bartender were great -- VERY efficient, friendly and attentive. The bartender said she thought we'd had to wait too long for our food so she bought us a round ! Great place to just grab a bite or stay for a while and sip some brews. Will definitely go back and catch some of the action on karaoke or the fish fry --- or maybe even try that brunch burger. I absolutely LOVE Rockabillies! Lisa is an amazing bartender who really knows how to make people come back for more. Every visit is a treat with her, and the rest of the staff is awesome as well. I love the atmosphere in the bar, it's comfortable, neighborhood-y, and divey but not too divey. My only complaint is that the new/revised food menu is ridiculously expensive. $11 for a burger? This is Arvada not the airport! I also really miss the Italian sausage stuffed with hot green chile, that was my favorite dish there. But the beer is good, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the people are really genuine and friendly. It's been in my rotation for months now and will stay that way. :-) Oh - and this is for AT&T: FIX THE DAMN CELL COVERAGE IN THAT SHOPPING CENTER!
