I had dinner here while on a business trip last night. Nice little spot! Showed up before the dining room was open and had a drink in the bar. Nice area to be hanging out and relaxing before dinner. Very friendly staff. Dinner I had the steak and was cooked a perfect medium. Minimal seasoning which is normally not a good thing but the flavor from the grill was pretty good. Downside was the rice option as a side dish. Rice was pretty hard and tasted like it was more than a day old. Reason for a little low rating also is that it a get your own salad bar. Not that I think its bad to do something yourself, but I don't find a community salad bar that clean with everyone touching everything. A bit of a germ-a-phobe. read more

Don't waste your money...overpriced food that lacks quality. This is quite possibly one of, if not the worst steak I've ever had. So burnt and dry that I couldn't even eat it. My other half had the prime rib and shrimp. Prime rib was flavorless, mushy, stale and there was human hairs on the shrimp. Took a peek into the kitchen and staff was not wearing any sort of nets on head or goatees. Wait staff was rude, unfriendly and seemed put out. The only part about this experience that was pleasant was the clam chowder from the salad bar. We will absolutely not back and will not recommended this to any of our friends. read more

We stayed at a lovely B&B in Twin Falls and the owners recommended this place. We thought that it would be pretty good since the parking lot was packed. Looks can be deceiving. Everything about this place was mediocre. The trout I had wasn't well seasoned and my partner's steak could've used more seasoning as well. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was pretty good, but that's the only thing on the menu that I'd recommend. Although the salad bar is a terrific idea, the way they had the tables packed together made it difficult to maneuver when it was so crowded. I think people getting up and going back and forth to the salad bar added to a chaotic environment. One of my pet peeves is tables that are nailed to the booth or floor. The other pet peeve is chairs with arms. Thankfully the tables could be moved to make for a more pleasant dining experience, but those of us with generous hips don't like feeling wedged into a seat. I spent the entire meal perched at the edge simply because they didn't have other seating options. That's my pet peeve and thankfully most dining establishments seem to take that in consideration since I rarely find places with seats like that. Will we be back? No. There are better places in Twin Falls. They won't miss my business since it's clear the locals like this place. read more

My wife and I went to dinner for our 21st anniversary and we were very disappointed. We both ordered the steak and lobster. The steak was a very tough piece of sirloin and the potato was not fully cooked. The waitress was not professional enough to respect our wishes to "quietly" make a complaint to the kitchen and instead made a big scene at our table before sending out the owner against our request. The owner then came out and explained to us that he buys the best beef and a tough steak was not really possible even though both plates still had traumatized steak from our attempts to cut it. To his credit he did offer complimentary meals, drinks, or desserts but we did not take him up on the offer. Tough steaks happen but customers feeling uncomfortable doesn't have to happen. read more

Awful! The service was good but that didn't make up for how horrible the food is. We had a large group and more than half of us had to send our food back to the kitchen for one reason or the other. The seafood was horrible, the chef does not know how to cook a scallop to save his life. And to top it off all the drinks were watered down. We will not be going back. read more

My husband and I have been to this restaurant many times. In fact it is our favorite place in Twin Falls. The decor is dated and the menu never changes but it is a very comfortable place with consistent good food and service. It also has one of the best wine cellars in town. All that being said I was very disappointed with our visit Saturday night. It was not particulary busy, especially for a weekend night but it appeared to be very short staffed. We waited at least a half an hour after finishing our salads for our entrees to appear and when they did my husband's steak was very undercooked (he ordered it medium rare and even the first few bites of meat were very red and translucent. It was also cold, maybe it had been left sitting as we were not so patiently waiting. The waitress was very gracious when she asked how everything was at the end of the meal (it was the first time we saw anyone since our entrees came) and we told her about our dissapointment with the steak. She offered to comp us with a dessert and even comped my husband with another glass of wine. read more

Rock Creek is one of the few places you can get truly FRESH seafood in Twin Falls. Their cuts of meat (that they trim themselves) are just as fresh--have never been frozen & many are locally sourced. They don't overcook meat or cover it with heavy sauces. It's broiled just right so the natural flavors come through. The appetizers are the best in town, made from scratch in house. Their prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of food & service. I'm a Twin Falls native & Rock Creek is my favorite restaurant. It's the locals' place to eat. If you're looking for fancy or hip decor, you might be disappointed, but if you're just looking for good food, this restaurant is your place. read more

This is high priced for what you get . It was $30 for a steak . They don't bring you a salad . But you go thru a line like in the local buffet and make your own . The steak was nicely cooked . But the potato was cold . The service was horrible . We had to remind the server to bring our drinks . And were never checked on . Ok, if you want fantastic steak and sea food this is the place. Its the best steak I ever had. They know how to cook meat rare exactly the way I like. Its called medium rare there which scarred me because medium is too done for me, The waitress assured me it will be rare and all pink. It was! Seared scallops were perfect and so was the calamari. Bottle of wine only $22. Giant soup salad bar. Very friendly service. Its really a locals place, you wont see many tourist. With that said, lol....You may or may not know some of Twin can be a little scrungy. The place in a questionable area next to sleazy motels and a gas station. The people who eat there are small town kinda folks and dont dress up or some times clean up.It is very dated from another era of tacky 70s. But its still great dont miss place to eat. The Rock Creek is the kind of restaurant we love to find when traveling: a favorite of the locals with specialties of the region on the menu - in this case trout and lamb. South Central Idaho is the trout center of the world and the Rock Creek does the best job in town of preparing locally raised fresh and smoked trout. If you are lucky enough to hit lamb shank night - definitely order it. Their lamb chops are also excellent. Falls Brand is a local meat company and the Rock Creek prepares their excellent smoked pork chops. I live here so I get to have all these on a regular basis the the consistency of the Rock Creek cooking is excellent. Employees are loyal and long-term for the most part. Eat in the bar for fast service and a lively crowd - you may be lucky enough to meet Stan who is not only a life long restaurant owner (via. California I believe) but also extremely knowledgeable about American political history and current events - we learn a lot from talking to Stan about food and history. read more

This was the second time we've had dinner here, tonight, and a year ago, and unfortunately this time wasn't an improvement over the mediocre meals we had the first time. I can only imagine that people continue to patronize this place because there are very few real "dinner establishments" in Twin Falls to choose from. The place reeks of the remnants of earlier days when it was a Smoking Restaurant/Bar, and don't look too closely at the surface of your table, because you'll discover half the finish is worn off. Service is friendly though and the food is prepared well. Pretty basic - salmon, steaks, etc. Nothing special. But it's done well. I'd go back because I like simple foods sometimes. The salad bar was nice. Nothing fancy - just the bare-bones basics - but good and fresh, nonetheless. I ordered the salmon with broiled veggies. Yup - that's what I got. It was A-OK. Steak was cooked perfectly for each guest and very good flavor. Prime rib was slightly over cooked (Sunday). Good soup and two kinds of bread. Salad bar was basic but well done. Food was excellent. Had our rehearsal dinner in the banquet room. It was perfect. Service was good too. We had a group of 20 and I didn't hear a complaint from anyone and it looked like everyone finished what they ordered. My only complaint would be that the bread was at the salad bar...and I think they should bring it to the table...its not like there was more then one option. Especially for a group it would have been nice to have it brought to the table. But as far as complaints go...thats not a big deal to me. Would go back for sure! read more

Although a bit pricey, you will enjoy the cozy, smoke-free feel of Rock Creek, one of the older establishments in town, and a place to be seen for locals. You get a feel for Idaho with moose heads and trout mounted on the wall, without the scary redneck feel or the greasy food. The waitresses are attractive and graceful, donning long flowy skirts inspired by the local Basque culture. One of the best buys is the Combination Platter on the appetizer menu, which has pork and seeds (pork loin dipped in hot mustard and sesame seeds), smoked trout, manchego and smoked cheeses, garlic bread, and fresh fruit. Our family dined at Rock Creek restaurant on May 22, 2019. We had the absolute worst service by our waitress Lisa. There were only 4 other diners in the restaurant, yet it took Lisa 10 minutes to come to our table. Lisa wasn't the least bit personable and she made us feel like we were an inconvenience. It took her 15 minutes to bring our drinks and then another 25 minutes to bring our appetizer. After waiting an additional 50 minutes for our food we went looking for Lisa and asked her when it would be ready. She rudely said "He's making it now." Lisa brought our food, no apologies for the ridiculously long wait and we didn't see her again until she brought the bill. We asked for our bill to be adjusted due to the poor service. Again, Lisa offered no apology and rudely said "You'll need to talk to Stan" and she walked off. Stan came over and apologized saying "Occasionally these things happen" which we thought was a poor excuse since there were barely any customers. Stan did adjust our bill though and we did appreciate that. The only reason this restaurant deserves 1 star is because the food was good. We will not be returning! read more
