It was my 1st time trying this place yesterday! My girlfriend and I went for our one month anniversary! Food was really good! Very tasty and service was on point. The servers were very attentive and came to check on us periodically. The food was very fresh and very tasty. The ambiance was pretty dope! I really liked it. Definitely going back again!

We came in for lunch after attending a car show in Duluth. The sign said Hibachi in conjunction with sushi so we ventured in sun drenched from the hot day in the south. Service was fast and good and on point. The hibachi we chose was shrimp and steak. Both were delicious! My wife loved the zucchini and rice and I loved the yum yum sauce. Gender neutral restrooms were on prem and clean. Ambiance very casual with modern tables and comfy booths. The tvs played rock videos from loop.tv and there was a rock 'n roll theme hence the name. All in all a good place to eat in downtown Duluth.

Sushi was okay but presentation was awesome. It was just too cold and the rice not seasoned well, but we'll try them again since they just opened up and still getting situated. It is in a nice location in downtown Duluth. We ordered several rolls and the cucumber salad

The sweet home Alabama roll (the fried one) was the best roll I've had in a little bit. My friend said her rolls didn't stand a chance lol Needless to say we will be coming back

Really cool restaurant! Love the atmosphere and the music. Staff was pretty friendly and the food was good. I ordered the "jailhouse roll", which is a deep fried roll filled with shrimp tempura and topped with Cajun seasoned crawfish spicy Mayo, eel sauce, and crunchy flakes. The roll was pretty tasted, but I did wish the Cajun flavoring was a bit more stronger, didn't taste it much throughout the roll. Overall, I would definitely recommend the spot if you're looking for a different take on sushi. I ended up taking my food to go this time, but will definitely dine in once I come back.

It was a bit confusing trying to find this place, but they are located around the back of the building. Look for the guitar! While obviously not authentic Japanese, the ambiance is fun and creative, with a rock n roll theme. Very unique. The service was friendly and attentive, despite the kitchen being a little slow making my coworker's hibachi plate. My other coworker and I got our sushi rolls quickly through, and because we were on a short lunch break, we couldn't wait and had to start eating before her hibachi plate arrived. Kind of awkward, but understandable. I ordered the PYRO ROLL (Shrimp tempura inside, topped with baked krab meat, spicy mayo, eel sauce and crunchy flakes) with a ginger salad. I appreciate that they provide a calorie estimate next to each item--I wish more restaurants did that! As far as taste, everything was just okay. The seafood quality was not the highest, but it got the job done. Would I seek this restaurant out if craving sushi? Probably not. Would I go again if I'm in the area and someone in my group wants to go? Why not.

Really enjoyed the experience but was not as impressed with the food. The decor is really cool and it feels like you are attached to a music venue. The menus areunique records and the menu items all have music themed names. I ordered a miso soup that tasted overly salty and looked like it came from a soup in a cup. The Salmon nigiri was good, but the rice was undercooked and the presentation in a bowl on lettuce threw me for a loop. My friend got the Punk Rock Roll and the shrimp tasted less like a tempura and the spacey tuna was not all that great. The highlight was the Unplugged roll which was a very flavourful cucumber roll with salmon, yellowtail, red tuna and avocado. Might give it another try in the future, but was not as impressed as I had hoped.

First timer! We had a great experience. The sushi was hands down AMAZING! The service was good too. Seemed like he was the only waiter there. He did an awesome job handling everyone and remembering to bring the little things we asked for. Super kind, please forgive me I'm trying to remember his correct name, Isaiah or Isaac, YOU ROCK! We ordered the VIP roll, metalhead, crowd surfer, and British Invasion which were packed with really good flavors! 10/10 will be back again

Great sushi! Great music. Cool vibe. I'll definitely be back! I had the Groupie Roll and the Punk Rock Roll. both were very good, punk rock roll is my favorite! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive as well!

STILL A FIVE STAR IN MY BOOK! It's hard to believe RnR Sushi has been here almost a year. So many changes to downtown Duluth, as it continues to get better and it's popularity grows. As for RnR it continues to be an awesome anchor. Had my favorite Twisted Tuna and Jalapeños which are still awesomely unique twists (pun intended) on old standards. Great atmosphere and the best music in Duluth guarantee a wonderful time out! Also love the renovations to the patio with the privacy fence and comfy couch! Bravo

I learned about the place from Instagram - not sure if they still have the $10 lunch specials but that was the lure that got us to check it out. They are located in the same shopping as the Medlock Regal Cinema. CHICKEN KARAAGE COMBO - $10 The karaage was good. Came w/ a mayo-like sauce for dipping. Cabbage salad served as a starter - learned later that you can opt for the potato salad instead which we'll try next time. Combo also came w/ a miso soup which was delicious ... one of the best miso soups I've had! MINCED KATSU COMBO - $10 This was the highlight dish for sure. The katsu coating was perfection, and the pork inside was not at all what I expected ... it was minced and interesting tasting ... we loved it! Served w/ two sauces, and pickles. Also came w/ the cabbage salad as a starter, and the miso soup. Next time I'd like to try the Croquette Combo w/ the potato salad - and eventually try all their dishes. The menu looked really good!

I will say i liked the chicken thigh katsu more. It didn't feel too tiring when eating it. Compared to the pork katsu but that's just my preference. Both dishes were about $19-20 a plate and it came with the choice of a cabbage salad or potato salad. We tried both and I liked the potato salad more. The sauce one the cabbage salad was a sesame dressing it was on the creamer side. On the table you're served with matcha salt, Japanese chili oil, and a spicy seasoning for curry. I would definitely recommend trying the matcha salt as well as the curry seasoning if you want a small kick!! The service was great! They checked on you regularly and there's also a button to call for service. And all the workers (even the ones in the kitchen) greet you when you walk in! Inside had tables and booths. The booths definitely felt more secluded! Overall the food was delicious and definitely filling. I'll be back but this is a once and awhile spot for me!

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

Yumee Katsu is a modern-style katsu spot, and overall, the food is tasty even though I've definitely enjoyed some dishes more than others. You get a couple of pieces of shrimp tempura, fish katsu, and pork & cheese katsu, plus the option to add a small side of udon or soba noodles. The fish katsu is light and flavorful, and the pork with cheese is a full-on cheese pull party. I also really enjoy their salad dressing and the dipping sauces that come with the donkatsu and fish katsu- they add a lot to the meal.
