Let me save you time, just don't. The recent reviews confirmed that the staff are too busy to address new patrons walking in while they continue their conversation hidden behind the bar. They gave more interaction to the single to go order sitting on the counter than they did to the single individual who collectively asked if the store was even open because the entire staff was nowhere to be seen. Do they know about their happy hour? No. Are they excited to make tips? Of course, not. Society is conditioning the working class to make tipping mandatory. Well, I'm not gonna continue to sit here to be ignored when my hard earned unemployment money could be better spent at an establishment that is actually working for their buck. This place has really cool music on all the time, the food is good, had their ramen a couple of times and there was always something they didn't have, first time was the eggs, and the second time was the pork. I've been to the one in Glendale, but this was my first visit to the Goodyear location. It's right off McDowell and 156th, so it's very easy to find. I was meeting some friends here, and we were really looking forward to it. It's not a really big restaurant, but it also didn't feel like you were on top of the people next to you. If you love rock n' roll music, this place is for you! We were singing along and just loving the vibe. They were having a special, if you get a Headliner Roll, then a Classic Roll is free, so we ordered 6 rolls altogether. Plus, it was Happy Hour, so we ended up getting 2 appetizers...the Sampler and the TNT Shrimp. The Sampler had some Wontons, Potstickers, Jalapeno Poppers and Egg Rolls with 2 sauces. The TNT Shrimp (my personal favorite) is Fried Shrimp with a Sweet Chili Sauce and Eel Sauce...so good!! Our mains really filled up the table, plus we got some Nigiri and Sashimi. It was fun trying different items. I've always like the classics, but tried a few others and we really enjoyed it all. Our server was wonderful, making sure our cups were full and asking if we needed anything else. I know it's hot in Arizona this time of year, but the A/C was blasting and we were freezing...LOL! If you're not gonna give the order to the customer don't have it on the counter where they can see it. Awful I will say this ... our waitress Melody or Melanie was great. I say Melody, hubby said it's Melanie ‍ regardless, she was really food. The miso soup ... no tofu in the soup, no seaweed ... I've never gotten a miso without tofu. It wasn't good regardless. Husband ordered potstickers ... they took forever and we were there before it was busy. We had to ask if it was coming she said she would check. They have way too many options with tempura in a roll. I've never seen so many. They do not have many options without tempura. I just don't get it. I ordered the salmon roll and asked for avocado in it. Didn't come with it. The rolls were small and lopsided when she brought them back. I did say, just ask them to throw it on top.. I'm thinking they opened it up and added the avocado ... they were small and lopsided. I've been here twice now. I don't eat seafood, fish. However, my friend does, and she really likes the sushi. These kinds of restaurants always have something I can eat. What I get is the chicken and filet mignon with rice and the salad it is always good. However, the salad is plain and could use more dressing. The decor and music is great. I like it. I have held off on reviewing Rock n Roll Sushi in Goodyear for a minute. My family and I have been here a few times and I wanted to get a consistent feel prior to reviewing. My honest star rating is 3/5. Nothing about Rock n Roll Sushi is inherently bad, but nothing is done exceptionally well. The rolls are super convoluted with fun names and taste decent enough. The appetizers are above average and the fried rice is sub par, lacking flavor. The fried rice even comes out sticky at times, which means it is too starchy. The music and decor of the restaurant is the star, obviously. The vibe is fun. However, the building is small and they do not cater to families with infants in car seats as they do not have slings on hand. Overall, it is a good date night spot for some decent sushi and a good vibe. However, it is not authentic nor should you expect to receive an authentic experience. read more

Okay so positives: The to-go employee was very kind and the inside looked clean :) Unfortunately for what I paid, I do not feel like it was worth it. I got the trio hibachi dinner, and I was shocked to see the portions were so small for $36. From looking at other review pictures, it looks like they do give you more if you dine in. I chose double rice instead of keeping the vegetables with the dinner, but it was still less rice than I expected. Aside from portions, I thought the flavor of the food was unimpressive. The rice had very little flavor, same goes for the proteins. The red meat was my favorite by far, shrimp my least favorite. Overall, I'm sad to leave this review because I was so excited to have a hibachi spot right by my house. I also hate leaving bad reviews but felt like i should mainly for the prices! I would definitely recommend Hayashi Hibachi nearby if you're looking for an alternative. Since this place is new to the area I'm hoping that they're still a work in progress. read more

Another underwhelming franchise has come to Goodyear. Welcome to Rock N Roll Sushi!! Today (Wednesday) is BOGO (free) 2 for 1 on sushi rolls. I want to be positive about my lunch experience, so I'll start with service, and the service person was excellent. She was very pleasant, informative, and gave some helpful suggestions. The music is a little too loud for lunchtime conversation, but it's Rock n Roll Sushi, so what can I say. Cream Cheese in my sushi roll lovers, this is your spot!! 12 of there 19 "Headliners" (aka specialty rolls) have cream-cheese. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of cream-cheese, and even a lesser fan when cream-cheese is in my sushi roll. Krab Sticks are used to make all of their sushi rolls, so the rolls are thinner than the normal sushi rolls. So I ordered the Pyro Roll and my BOGO was the California roll. If you're a traditionalist like me, stick with the classics. The Pyro roll lacked the pyro, it passes the eye test. After my first bite, i just applied all my wasabi and double dipped it into my soy sauce to make it tasty. The California roll was more the same of that Rock n Roll style of sushi, Krab sticks. If wanting to get your moneys worth, then I recommend doing a second Yelp search. If you're looking for some drinks and a little bit sushi this might be your spot. read more

I did a order for pickup it gave me a time slot. I arrived about 10min before my pick up time expecting to wait but it was already done. This is always a good or bad depending on how long food was sitting. I head home sit down to eat Was happy to see chopsticks and soy sauce in the bag and my order was correct. Now my only complaint was the size of the sushi. I have never seen rolls so small! I ordered 3 different rolls and they are tiny. Food did taste fresh but my baked roll was not warm so may have been ready way sooner than the pick up time given. I will go back and dine inside next time to see if there may be a difference but as of now 3 stars good but not great read more

Stopped in tonight, sat at the bar, and ordered a trio of Gekkikan sake, spicy edamame, and the British Invasion roll (tuna and eel around fried shrimp with a light sweet sauce) Overall the food was excellent & just the one roll was a very good sized portion - it's big! Their wasabi is delicious btw - not the typical half-dry paste; actually tasted like it might even be freshly ground :-) My only criticism of the menu is that almost every roll on the menu is shrimp-based, so it's a little one-dimensional, but I get that it's cost effective, popular and tasty. We don't think we will be coming back. Our family of four was happy to revisit this restaurant and give it another try. We have been there once a few months ago and unfortunately when we recieved our sushi we were informed my husband's hibachi order was never prepared so he had to wait another 10+ minutes for his meal. Tonight, the restaurant had only a few tables sat when we put in our order and half of them had their food already. We waited for 30 minutes to get our food and once we got our food the two servers on the floor never checked on us. My husband had to get up and walk to the To-Go area to ask for a spoon and later when we wanted the check, I had to wave my hands in the air. It appeared they had a lot of to go orders but were unable to manage them and the customers in the restaurant efficiently . The potstickers are very delicious but it's not worth it with such poor service read more

Checked out the location for my birthday. We came at the end of happy hour and we loaded up! The food was amazing and their special sauce was perfect! I loved the Jalepeno poppers and the wonton crisps the best. My volcano roll was just okay though, nothing special.
