We returned for our anniversary last week. I decided to try a different meal. When we arrived midafternoon, we were the only ones there so had the full attention of the server Peachy. Before we could order our food others started coming in. Our timing was perfect. For appetizers and to go with our entrees, we ordered festival, plantains and jerk wings. The festival is always delicious. The plantains reminded me of home. The flavor and spice of the wings were tasty. Hubby selected the oxtails with macaroni & cheese and cabbage. My switch up and new favorite is the Rasta Pasta with chicken. Listen!!!! Can you saw amazing delicious. I thought about getting it with oxtails. Peachy suggested staying with the chicken and adding a side of oxtail gravy. Well! Happy dance for my meal. The creaminess of the pasta is fantastic. I'm sold. The music is on point. The restroom is clean with nice decor. There is a blower to dry your hands. Keep a paper towel to open the door on your way out. :-) The appetizers and both entrees provide 2 meals. Came across this place driving through the parking lot to Buffalo Wild Wings a few weeks ago. The menu looked good so my wife and I decided to try it out. We couldn't decide between the oxtails and jerk chicken so we got both and split them between us. We got the spicy sauce on the jerk chicken and it paired perfectly with the chicken. You also go three healthy sized pieces of chicken with the meal. The oxtails were perfect. The sauce they came in made it even better. I was excited to try this place after reading the reviews, but unfortunately it was a major disappointment. For $45, I expected much better quality and portion sizes. The presentation is misleading. The food is divided into multiple small bowls and containers, making the plate look fuller than it actually is. The portions themselves were surprisingly small. I ordered the mild jerk chicken, only to find it was available with white meat only. The chicken breast was extremely dry, and despite ordering "mild," it was far spicier than expected. If you're looking for actual mild jerk, this isn't it. The oxtails were equally disappointing--mostly small, fatty pieces with very little meat. The sides didn't help. I received only three small plantains, and they were nothing special. The cabbage was bland and lacked seasoning. My Coke came in a can instead of a fountain drink, and it wasn't even brought out until my food had already arrived because it had been forgotten. Service felt rushed and unenthusiastic. There wasn't much warmth or hospitality, which is something I usually hope for at a family-owned restaurant. In the end, I spent about $45 and left feeling like I had overpaid for a small, mediocre meal. So when I spotted a delivery vehicle wrapped in a vibrant ad for this place while cruising down Dysart Road, my hunger had me making a beeline faster than a Jamaican sprinter. Spoiler: it was a great decision! We kicked things off at the bar with a couple of drinks--rum punch and a Jamaican-style Blue Long Island. Just scan a QR code to access the digital menu, because who needs paper menus when you can have the excitement of technology? Now, a word of caution about the jerk spice: it comes in mild, medium, and spicy. I mistakenly fancied myself a spice warrior and went for the spicy jerk chicken. The scotch bonnet delivers a heat that creeps up on you. By the fifth bite, my tongue was officially on strike. In hindsight, I probably should've ordered potato salad to balance the jerk. Flavor-wise, this place is a flavor bomb! The chicken, rice and peas and cabbage were all tasty. I ended up taking my leftovers to go, because the deliciousness was too good to waste. The only hiccup? My patty and coco bread were microwaved, resulting in edges that felt more like cardboard than comfort food. Also the ratio of filling to pastry was very low. For $6 per patty I expected a much better patty experience but it was a big let down. Overall, the service and the entrees were stellar, more than making up for that little snafu. The ambiance? Delicious food and helpful service from Marisa with good recommendations. I had the Rasta pasta and was recommended the oxtail and it was so good. So flavorful and moist with already a delicious sauce. My husband had the oxtail entree it was perfect and my daughter had the jerk fries which she loved but it was huge portion can definitely share. I drive by this location all of the time and I thought today would be the perfect day to give it a try. I was sadly disappointed. The jerk egg rolls had no flavor or seasoning, the inside was white and thr roll was soggy. The plantains were burned, the peas and rice had no flavor and the curry chicken was dry. I really wanted this place to be my new Jamaican spot since I live on this side of town. Our first time coming our experience was great. The server was warm and welcoming, atmosphere was vibing with great music, and the food was phenomenal. This was at lunch time. However we came back a second time for dinner, and it was a huge disappointment. The waitress seemed understandably overwhelmed however she failed to mention they ran out of jerk chicken when we placed our order. We had two babies with us so you could imagine how antsy they were after a 50min wait and our appetizers never made it to our table. She never checked in, she didn't apologize for the delay nor did she accommodate us or our children as she watched us console them on several occasions. At this time the restaurant was beginning to empty and there were only 2 other tables around who had already received their food. She was on her phone for over 20mins and again did not bring us any food let alone our appetizers until I got up and said we were leaving. I've given Ocho Rios in Goodyear, AZ two chances, and both times left me completely disappointed. The first time, I ordered oxtails in person. For nearly $30, the portion was unbelievably small -- barely enough food to justify half that price. Still, I decided to give them another try. This time, I ordered chicken through Uber Eats. Same issue. The portion was tiny and felt like mostly bone and skin. Nowhere near filling, especially for what I paid. I contacted the restaurant directly, and the manager claimed the serving was 12 ounces. There's no way. If that was 12 ounces, it had to include a ton of bone and cartilage -- definitely not 12 ounces of meat. I've never experienced portions this small at any other Caribbean spot. To top it off, they refused to take any responsibility and told me to go through Uber Eats. Terrible value, customer service for this issue could have been better, and the portions that won't fill you up. Decided to try something new. I've always seen jerk chicken talked about on the food network and sounded delicious. I'm so glad we decided to try this restaurant out. The food was delicious!! I had the jerk chicken with white rice and the bread. I asked for spicy and it didn't disappoint. My wife got the coconut curry with shrimp which was also great. The service was quick and food came out relatively quickly. Service was good, the staff was friendly. We received a free app as they made an extra which was greatly appreciated and delicious as well. The only negative is portions are on the small side for what you pay. Otherwise I highly recommend coming here to try out Jamaican food. We will definitely be back. Made this find as we were driving from Celestial Floats. Saw their car on the road with the advertisement and thought to ourselves a jaimaican restaurant in Arizona?!?! Why not. So the location in Goodyear was only about 6 minutes away from us at the time in a shopping center so we stopped by. When we entered we felt like we were in Jamaica. The staff was extremely nice and we da down at the bar and immediately ordered a beef patty (Delicious) and chicken patty (yummy) with coco bread which was served nice and warm. I ordered the Jamaican rum punch which tasted just like I remembered them in Jamaica !!! Followed by the Jamaican Long Island which packed quite the punch . Don't drink too many of those if you're driving . I ordered the brown stew chicken (White meat) and she ordered the jerk chicken and asked for it spicy . My brown stew was delicious and when I was done I was full, but wish I had more . My wife's jerk chicken was also tasty, but extremely spicy , so be warned. Unless you like extreme spice.... Came here for a lunch last week.First off, this establishment was very clean so that is a plus. Now for the food. To start off, we had the Coco Bread. It had a good taste, but it was not fresh. For lunch we had the jerk chicken lunch and the stewed chicken. The jerk tasted more like bbq chicken with a hint of spice. The stewed chicken was tender and flavorful but had too many bits of small bones. For our sides, we had coleslaw and the rice and peas. The coleslaw was delicious. The rice and peas didn't have much flavor and tasted a little overcooked. We didn't get a chance to have any drinks, but they did look great. We came here on the word of a woman whose father is Jamaican and she told us it was the "real deal". We ordered the jerk chicken and the salt fish with ackee. It looked nothing like the photos, but none the less was good. Unfortunately the ratio of the salt fish was minimal and there was no consistency with how the veggies were cut. The jerk chicken and the plantains were delicious and reminded us of our journeys to Jamaica. Next time I would order mild spiciness as this was a bit too hot for my liking, but it didn't stop us from eating all of it. This was a Friday night and the place was fairly empty, which was disappointing as we always want to support small businesses. Tina was a lovely person who helped navigate us through some of the dishes. I would have given 5 stars, but again, give the salt fish dish and also a fruit punch drink that tasted like watermelon and not much of anything else.
