    Volcano Roll
    Sean C.

Sushi chain in landlocked Tennessee - my fault for thinking it would be better. I was definitely brought in by the cool name, exciting menu, and fun decor. All of those things delivered 100%, but the food didn't hit the mark. First, skip the potstickers. They are downright gross. They came drenched in sauce - not sure what it was - and clearly frozen from a box. No part of them were good. The volcano roll was fun - heavy on the sauce, which was the downfall. I think if they would have went lighter on the sauce, it would have felt a bit more as expected. But, I think the sauciness was part of the ambiance and the rock-n-roll excess. The flavors were good, but I would have appreciated something a bit more refined.

I called my order in and the bubbly energy from the server confirmed the right choice for dinner. My sushi rolls were delicious and filling. The extra sauces were all in the bag as requested. The place was busy and initially it was confusing on where to pick up orders. But I went to the bar and my food was ready for payment and pick up. I would definitely come back an it's clear the place is a crowd pleaser. Plenty of parking so I was in and out. My thriller roll a spicy crab roll was really delicious. Can't wait to try their menu.

Very cool rock atmosphere and great sushi! Gabe, the server, gave great recommendations also.

I mean what do you expect from a sushi chain? Even though Music City is hardly a Japanese hotspot, most sushi joints in Nashville can execute pretty impressive dishes. And almost nobody can mess up unagi nigiri (eel sushi). Well, unfortunately Rock N Roll completely botched it! Serving dry eel with no eel sauce? Mystery meat that looked way past its prime and may not have even been eel? Really? Yuck! Even the shrimp and yellowtail nigiri weren't made correctly. The ginger tasted like it was expired, and once they bring you a glass of water don't ever expect them to fill it up (not once, not even after two hours while catching up with friends)! The Thriller Roll is equally unimpressive, although a rare highlight was the Cajun-seasoned crawfish that came with it. The roll was pleasantly crispy. But the taste? Nope. And more stale ginger in a very, very small quantity? Oof. All this for over $50 before the tip? Come on, you've got to do better than that!

The sashimi and pot stickers were tasty. The service was so genuine and welcoming. We were served our sushi so quick we couldn't believe it. The hostess brought us our food and refilled our drinks with no hassle. The vibes were relaxing and unique. I've got to pick up one of their tees just like a concert tour.

The service, location, and ambiance are top tier. They even have outside patio seating next door at cantado. The food was mid, and edible. I have had better fried rice frozen from Sam's club. I have tried different items on a few separate occasions because the location is so close to me, and I'm always unimpressed. The vegetarian sushi roll was disrespectful it was avocado, salad, seaweed and rice. They could've added cucumbers carrots onions anything but a salad in a Sushi roll. That came on a bed of salad. My soup tasted like seasoned metal pot water. The place was beautiful though and I believe they have drinks.

People that work there are great sushi is what you'd expect from a chain restaurant but just know they will nickle and dime you to death. I was charged an 8% fee for takeout when I came in and was sat at the bar and had a drink and asked for my food in boxes instead of eating there having them wash dishes just so I could get my food out in a box because I wouldn't have eaten it all. I tipped and everything and just randomly noticed the fee which I thought was weird. So said something about it on their own personal reviewing system they got back to me and in my opinion were a little on the rude side. I'll put pictures in this review and you can read for yourself and decide on your own. I will definitely always ask for boxes after they bring a plate just to save a bs fee

Read reviews saw pics and wanted to try. Place was busy and crowded. Few servers which explains the delay. Ordered spicey edaname which was not cooked completely. Needed spices, even salt would have been ok. Husband ordered miso soup asked for pepper didn't get it till we asked again and he had finished his soup when we finally got the pepper. Had a salad with good ginger dressing. Very good. Ordered rainbow roll, rock n roll roll with lobster...very good. Ordered volcano roll was just ok. Didn't care for the sauce they used. Ordered steak habachi , steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, Our server was good but I believe a bit overwhelmed. Bussing tables, greeting customers, serving all of it. Felt bad . We had a long wait on our food but he was good and not his fault. Everyone was working hard, they need more staff. The hostess was wiping tables. Perhaps another time might be better

The love spell drink was fabulous. The spicy tuna over crispy rice was very good. However, the head banger shrimp was the highlight. Very good! The service was excellent. The server was on point, attentive and nice. 10 out of 10 I would recommend this restaurant.

This was just opened! It's feels like a club with huge TV screens playing music videos. As for the food, they have a huge menu: sushi, habachi, and appetizers. I should've tried their specialty rolls but I had to go for the eel roll! Such a fun experience and will go again for the seaweed salad !

Our server (I believe his name was Mitch) was phenomenal! We started off with the guava girlies, anti-hero, tan lines and good times - our favorites were the guava girlies and the anti- hero. The tan lines didn't have a deep enough flavor profile for us. For food, we got the Caesar salad, the green beans, the tuna crispy rice, the hurricane fries, charred scallion noodles, and burnt end lettuce wraps! Every dish was a hit but our favorites were the green beans (we were obsessed with the sauce) and the burnt end lettuce wraps. We also tried the lipstick marks, second hand smoke (sub mezcal with regular tequila), and guava girlies with tequila - all of these were also delicious! Despite being full, we had to try the dessert and tried the brookie with ube ice cream. We were also surprised with a scoop of pandan ice cream. This may be one of the most unique flavor profiles for a brookie I've ever had and it paired beautifully with the ube and pandan gelato! This was truly a fantastic dining experience and we will definitely be back!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.

It overall started pretty well, with a yummy and fresh yellowtail roll, however as the night continued, the rolls became more and more elaborate to the point of being too much. For example, instead of just serving the fatty tuna by itself, or with a simple topping, it comes with truffle and bone marrow dripped onto it. Those flavors overwhelmed the fish itself, which is already amazing on its own. There was another course of caviar, topped with gold flecks, which was kind of unnecessary. Also, they used the blowtorch for almost every fish which I find a bit gimmicky. I once or twice is cool but when you're pulling it out every 2 minutes, it quickly loses its appeal. What happened to just having a nice piece of raw fish on some sushi rice? Everything was just a little bit too overdone in my opinion. Also, because the previous sitting had gone a bit long, it felt like they were rushing through our sitting. The staff and service were great though - very polite and attentive. I think perhaps the basic omakase option would've been much better, and if I do come back (not sure that I will), this is what I'd opt for.

In general, fried rice is definitely on the oily side since it's fried, but I've never had a fried rice that had so much oil the rice grains were drowning in a puddle of it. From the timing of the meal where foods came out all at different times and horribly spaced intervals, , awkward service and a server who was hard to track down, to the 9 piece nigiri special that had 3 ahi tuna, 3 salmon and 3 yellowtail (hamachi), unfortunately this restaurant had nothing going for it.
