We'd heard about this restaurant from our friends. Asian fusion. It's quite popular. The restaurant was full on a weekday evening (there was a big party). We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. There's a little bench to sit on while waiting. The doorway becomes crowded with people either waiting or coming in to pick up orders. The servers were great- very friendly and on top of things. We had the chicken pho- which was good sized and tasty. The Spicy Thai Basil was also good. Although there might be some spiciness in the sauce, it really wasn't noticeable. I'd recommend keeping some jalapeños in the mix or on the side for a little more spiciness.

We had a GREAT meal! This was my first time there, and will definitely be back. They were busy on Saturday night, but we were greeted with a friendly hello right away! They quickly got a booth ready for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and noise level minimal to allow for good conversation. We ordered the pot stickers which were served hot and fresh with a delicious dipping sauce! I ordered the pad Thai which was absolutely delicious! It was piping hot with fresh bean sprouts and a wedge of lime, chopped peanuts and cilantro. I loved every bite! My significant other had the Tom Yung Goong soup with shrimp. It was hot and fresh, with excellent flavors of ginger and lemongrass. It had plenty of shrimp and rice on the side.

Certainly there's plenty of Asian restaurants in Rockford but there's not a lot of options for pho around here. In this shopping center on Riverside is one. Rock-Pho'd actually has a pretty good variety. More than pho to get. There's also noodles, rice, and other stuff. At lunch here recently it was busy. It's certainly a popular place. There wasn't that long of a wait to get seated. Probably the pho is the most popular choice. There's none of that for vegetarians to get though. Instead we got a couple of the noodle choices. It's about $12 for these. Plenty of good ones and these were big too. I had the Kua Mee. This is Laotian style stir fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, cilantro, eggs which I left off, and green onions. Good spice but not too hot. This also comes with a protein choice, and I got the tofu. Get a good variety of Asian food. It has Thai and more. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

We followed the Yelp reviews to this cozy Asian fusion/pho/Thai restaurant in Rockford -- and so glad we did! Outstanding restaurant with great service! We started with pot stickers - delicious! No photo because it was devoured too fast. Hubs and I split the Panang Curry with rice. It had a kick and was so tasty! Not a drop left. Daughter had the Pho Soup: chicken, with basil, bean sprouts and seasoned up at the table with hoisin sauce and chili oil. Our server was very pleasant, which we appreciated since we raced in toward the end of their open hours. Food was delivered in good time. We were only passing through town but if we were local Rockfordians, we would be regulars here for sure. It's in a small strip mall with plenty of parking.

Located in a strip mall with ample parking. The server was a little swamped however did a good job given the circumstances. The menu has a good mix of pho, Thai entrees, and some Chinese entrees. The beef pho had a good portion of flank. The pad see ew had homemade bbq pork and was very good. Overall, great food and experience.

I like Rock Pho'd and I am always happy with what I try here. The ruby tofu, soups, and crag rangoon are some of the things I like most. But rarely am I disappointed with this place. Portions are large and prices are reasonable, so I would highly recommend it to everyone. read more

My favorite Asian food spot in town! Most of the dishes are just like what my Laotian mom makes at home. Authentic and made with love. The menu has a wide variety of choices for anyone to enjoy a nice meal. My favorite dishes and what I find to be most popular are the delicious Tom Yum Goong, Dragon Fried Rice that has everything you could ask for, and the Special Pho itself never goes wrong. Had no idea they closed from 3-5pm. Called at 5 pm to place order. They already had a 45 min. wait. Might want to rethink this process. If ppl are on their way home from work, they don't want to wait bc your restaurant doesn't start taking orders until 5. Had I known you closed at 3, I would've placed order before 3. You might want to make your hours more prevalent on website. You cannot see that you close unless you go into hours rather than seeing that you are open. Very disappointed. read more

Favorites so far are the spring rolls with the dipping sauce. Springs rolls have nice fresh ingredients. Love that they include fresh lettuce and cilantro. The beef and broccoli was very good too. We also enjoyed our Bi Bim Bop (hope I spelled that right). We did a to-go-order and everything was packaged nicely. Plan on trying different foods this weekend. Wish we could order directly off their website or an app for pickup. We are heading into 2023...I feel like all restaurants should offer this service now read more

I've had fried rice all over the us and parts of the world. I've never had anything as good as amazing as the Dragon Fries Rice served here. It's just a taste explosion in your mouth. The smell of it gets you mouth watering. It's just spectacular to enjoy!!!! And the portion size is Ridiculous. It's just huge I use it for two meals and I'm a big guy! so please go down there and ask for the dragon fried rice you won't be disappointed. read more

So I reviewed this place before after not going for a while. And I remembered that they close @ 3, even days it on the door, I arrive at 12:30 and the door is locked and a person came up to say they open at 5? I just want pad thai literally super sad because me and my friends love this place and have even referred others to go there. I'll put my hand on a bible to testify that this is the best pho in the Rockford metro area in a landslide and among the best I've ever had. They serve it with an impressive array of fixings, seasonings, and sauces. Their prices are reasonable and we've never had an issue with service. Only a couple small issues - since the pho is so addicting, I haven't been able to try other entrees yet. My wife's favorite is the dragon fried rice. My only complaint is small - they should definitely offer tendon as an option for pho. read more

Just passing through the Rockford area. Our party had the Special Pho, and Pad Thai noodles. Both were very good but the pho soup base which is usually supposed to be very multi-dimensional, seemed to be missing a dimension. With that being said the portions are very generous and there was more meat than we could eat in the pho. Crab rangoon was very good and obviously homemade. The egg rolls were also very good with fresh ingredients and had great flavor. read more

Love the name - get it? It's in Rock-Ford? Delicious food, great menu choices and very good service. I had their house beef pho and spring rolls, I'd recommend both: seasoned just right, but with jalepenos, basil and lime on the side so you could adjust exactly to your taste. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is they don't have any choices for kids and no wine/beer. But I'd go there for date night. read more

First time eating here tonight. Interior is nicely decor. Service was great, but food was meh. I have had better pho, tom yum, and fresh rolls elsewhere. With that being said, my rating is solely on foods. I say if you've never been here, try it. Don't miss out on this hidden gem! My family and I dined here on our way through Illinois and everyone loved all of their food. My brother ate his entire plate of curry and got a 1.5 spice and said it wasn't making his nose run! So he enjoyed it. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. This place is amazing. I got the rock pho special. It tasted like momma made it. My gf got the lad na, sausage, and noodle dish. Everything tasted authentic and felt like I was eating home cooked meals. Prices were reasonable and portions were satisfying. I'd recommend this place for anyone in Rockford. Service was top notch. And my water was always filled. I like that. The menu was simple and direct. Not confusing and too many choices. read more

Specialties

Our chef, Souky, is half-Laotian, half-Vietnamese and grew up in Laos. He began cooking for Laotian markets when he was 7 years old and has loved cooking ever since! He specializes in Laotian, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine.

History

Established in 2018.

Souky and Bonnie have always dreamed of opening their own little restaurant. They started with catering for friends and family gatherings with the hopes of one day owning their own restaurant. Starting in 2014, Souky and Bonnie along with their children started selling egg rolls and crab rangoons every summer during their neighborhood garage sale in order to raise additional money which became a huge hit. Word of mouth started going around and people would drive as far as 1 hour away to buy more egg rolls and crab rangoons. People even sent Facebook messages wanting to know when the next sale would be. In 2017, the duo made the investment and found a little empty shop with a kitchen enough to fit 3 people for themselves. They had the intentions of having a tiny local restaurant operated by the two. In March of 2018, Rock-Pho'd finally opened and the support and response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Bonnie and Souky are a husband and wife duo, who have had a long-time dream of owning a restaurant. Souky's passion for cooking and Bonnie's perseverance to succeed has led them to open Rock-Pho'd! They have a passion for what they do and are finally living their dream.

The vibe is cozy and local, and come to find out that the business owner is Turkish, which we loved to know and support. I'm also not a bacon person, but I enjoyed the bacon here because I'm not a super super crispy bacon fan. The waitress was also super sweet and provided a coffee refill in a to-go cup for my husband to enjoy in the car on our way back towards Chicago. The only thing is that one of my poached eggs came out more hard boiled than runny, but everything else was great. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. Note: we got one of 2 parking spaces left remaining, so know that parking can be a bit tight on weekend mornings.

I'm glad we decided to go. Every detail was correct. The staff members who welcomed us were courteous and helpful right away. When we arrived at the menu, we were unable to choose anything. Even though everything was quite popular at the other place, we still gave it a lot of tries. There are too many to mention, and I don't want to misspell any names, but their Special pho and mango sticky rice were by far my favorites. They aren't just one of those fancy restaurants. The cuisine, service, and overall experience are all very important to them. These factors combine to make the restaurant excellent. The setting is ideal for dates. 10/10 read more

King fried rice - yes, the portions size it big and there's a lot of meat but the taste wasn't there. The rice is over cooked and mushy. You don't really get the taste of fried rice but more of the red flavor sauce they use and it's greasy. For the taste factor ppl will have to try the fried rice at Ming Cuisine in Schaumburg and you'll know what I mean. Fried rice should not be that mushy. read more
