Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a business that makes you feel like you are home. Where do I begin? I have been wanting to try their services for months but wasn't ready for change. Then things lined up and I made the appointment . Sadly one of my dogs ended up passing away today and I almost canceled but something pushed me to go and I am so happy. Upon walking in I was greeted by the nicest man behind the desk he knew who I was right away and offered me a beverage and made me comfortable. I waited less than 5 minutes and met Pauline the owner who made me feel like a rock star and so welcome. She consulted with me and actually listened. Any doubt I had was wiped away, I than was taken to be shampooed (by the same gentleman from desk) and had the most amazing hot towel: head massage and shampoo ever. I wanted to melt in the chair. My haircut was amazing . She took her time and showed me exactly what she was doing and explained to me. I wasn't nervous at all and knew I was in great hands, I am beyond thrilled with my new look. I honestly am So grateful I met this team. The whole staff was wonderful. I didn't want to leave. I also want to add how much they do for rescue animals . I was floored. I've noticed people complaining about their prices, but I feel they're priced quite fairly for a northern bergen county salon.. I've been coming here since it opened. They were always a bit pricey but the treatment was worth it. Until my wedding day! They lied about pricing and then told me it was my fault for not checking the brochure online. I thought I could trust what they told me. Everyone ended up paying far more than expected and I ended up paying about $150 more than I expected. When I brought this up to the owner, she would not honor the prices I was told. Went in for haircut and a dye job was suggested. Agreed to the price of $60 flat. The stylist insisted on adding highlights and before she began the process I asked if there would be any extra charge since I was on a budget, being a college student, and could not afford anything more then the initial agreed price. She said no that she would cover the cost since it was her product. Well I was shocked when I got to the register and it was $125 more then the agreed price. Owner tried to make up a poor excuse for me being misled by the stylist. I asked to be refunded the amount since this was a fraudulent charge and since she could not really give me a valid answer, she agreed. We came to the agreement that I would be refunded $100. I have multiple text messages between the stylist and voice mails of us agreeing to $100, which I have attached to this review. I figured that would be the end of it. But no, they only credited me back $75 and when I called questioning this, they continued to make up poor excuses. Not even worth it anymore. Not concerned with keeping customers, will never go again. Unfortunate since Lisa is very talented. read more

The service was OK, could have been better, could have been worse. Maybe my stylist wasn't having a good day but I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling. The blowout was great but my true test is what it looks like when I do it at home. And now that I have, I can say the shape is alright but the ends are bad. Honestly they look the same as before she took 2 inches off. Maybe the scissors weren't sharp or something. The part that really irked me though was when I went to pay (cut & blowout $55), she tried to sell me shampoo, conditioner and mousse for an additional $80! Who spends that much on hair products?? The whole experience just felt very salesy, not the relaxing, pampering way a salon (in my opinion) should feel. Probably will not go back. :( read more

I visited RYHS this week and had a wonderful experience!! I got a Brazilian wax and eyebrow wax by Nicole. She is amazing. She put me at ease and distracted me with conversation. Before I knew it, she was done. She's gentle, efficient, friendly, and most importantly...sanitary. I highly recommend her. She is a true professional!! After my wax, I had my hair trimmed. The sinks are extremely comfortable and cradle your head so you can really relax during your shampoo. I had a great haircut by Chrissy who was also very friendly and made me feel pampered by her undivided attention. I'm loving my haircut. I will definitely be back!!! read more

I have always been nervous when I first try someone for the first time. Lauran made me feel comfortable the first time and every time! She takes her time and cares about what you want!! I'm at the point where i have to carry around business cards to hand out when people ask me "Who cuts your hair?!" Had an appt for 11:30am, the person with the key arrived a couple of minutes late. Don't you think you should open before your first client is expected?? At the end of the appointment I tried to pay and was kept waiting and waiting while the receptionist was scheduling an appointment over the phone with someone that was having issues. Why not put that customer on hold and give them a minute to think it through and take care of the one right in front of you. Think twice before you book here. read more

What I liked...welcoming atmosphere.....stylist who listens....her name is Corrinn....I "broke up" with my previous stylist....felt she was kind of going through the motions and not listening to me. I am trying to grow out short hair and was getting nowhere. Corrinn had to go a bit shorter to shape up my style and fixed as best she could the parts I hated. Now I'm looking forward to my next haircut with her! This haircut has held its shape as it grows and I'm so much happier....no cut lines on my stick straight hair, nicely blended. I went back for color a week later and although because of the way my hair "took" the color the base was not as dark as she was going for but I was happy!!! Two different people washed my hair on these visits and both were awesome and so was the great smelling shampoo...Snob Girls....which I would recommend buying! I feel that the color prices are on the high price side for me, but worth the results. I'll probably just stretch out my color visits a bit to compensate. There is just a "good feel" there....especially going for the first time which can be intimidating at some salons!! read more
