Texted Steve Moore on a Sunday afternoon, and I get a return text the next morning at 7 am, asking if I'll be around at all. Since I was working remotely that Monday, I confirmed that I would be home, and he was at my place within 2 hours. He took less than 5 minutes to diagnose the issue and informed me that the Covid-era motors that were built for these Rheem compressors were breaking prematurely. Since my system was still under the 10-year warranty, Steve called the supplier, went to pick up the part, and came back later in the day to get the motor swapped out. AC works again perfectly. When he first installed the system four years ago, he provided a three-year warranty on service. Since this was the 4th year, I expected to pay a service charge for the work. Not with Steve; he waived it. You can't beat this type of personal and quick service, and truthfully, Steve is just a really nice fellow to deal with. You call other HVAC companies, and in the middle of a heat wave, they'll find ways to gouge you. Not Steve. He's decent, honest, and has my wholehearted recommendation. Based on some trash outside in the yard, the tech concluded that we need the entire property's copper pipe replaced and sent us a quote for many thousands of dollars. The copper pipes in this property was replaced only a few years ago based on records provided to me. The owner contact us to remove the initially negative review saying it was miscommunication. Ok, so I deleted the original review and gave him a second chance to quote the right price. I ask again about the loose pipe, and he responded with he needs to send a tech out AGAIN to go under the house to do a full inspection. And we would need to charge you several hundreds of dollars to do that. I asked why? And then there was no response. First issue, the tech already come out once before and saw and heard the loose pipe. Why do they need to come out again? 2nd issue, why do they need to go under the house to find a loose pipe. Even our non plumber handyman knew exactly where the loose pipe was based on the sound it was making. And without him telling me I went over to do the inspection and figured out the location of the loose pipe independently. The fact that this trained tech did not know where the loose pipe is located and need to do a "extensive inspection" is completely baffling. Either A. The business is just trying to get paid to do a useless inspection. B. The first tech was completely incompetent. Neither boosts confidence in the company or their abilities.

Our old "T" type valve with soldered copper fittings had to be to be cut out and replaced from behind the wall. We called at 2:30 pm on a Friday and Mike from US Plumbing said he could come by to give us a free estimate as soon as he was done with another job he had in Escondido. Despite heavy traffic on a Friday afternoon, Mike arrived in Oceanside within 1 hour. His estimate was higher than we had expected but he was willing work with us to reduce his labor charges. Timing was one major reason for us choosing Mike to do the repair. His same-day repair job was greatly appreciated. Other plumbers we had called would not even come out until the following week on Monday at the earliest. They didn't work on weekends and it was too late for them to do anything that day. Plus, they had a $50 charge just to give us an estimate (which they said they would have been applied to the final cost of the repair if we agreed to have them do the repairs). Being located locally in Oceanside probably helped out making it convenient for both Mike and us with regard to timing and availability. Mike completed the removal and replacement of the old soldered copper valve piping in 3 hours, which included the time it took for him to go to the parts supplier for the new replacement valve. He did a complete, thorough, and professional job. He is a licensed plumber that we would recommend for any plumbing repairs that you might need done.
