Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Charley was our project manager; he kept the project moving forward and was extremely responsive to texts and calls. They helped us change the cabinet layout a bit and it ends up being more functional while also having much more usable space. The flooring and baseboards turned out terrific, it really changes the look and feel of the space. We had picked out something that was not one of their usual suppliers, but that was no problem. They really work with you to get exactly what you want. All the workers were friendly, skilled and left our house clean at the end of the day. My thanks to everyone that worked on our project. Chuck finished the kitchen up and did fine work with our plumbing which required some intricate work to accommodate our layout. I highly recommend Mastercraft and would use them again for any future work.

Of the many options they had the best ideas and the qualified workmen. Mike Garst considered the project from every angle, brought in members of his team on 3 occasions to suggest approaches. When they opened the dry wall we found the supports were rotted & had to be replaced. They built a roof support, replaced damaged wood, added cement inside the walls higher than outside level to prevent leaks, then filled a beautiful solid cement floor and repaired the drywall. Better than good as new, this room boasts a superior foundation that gives me confidence. Every member of Mike's team is punctual, profesional, knowledgeable and courteous. When work was done, Mike came and, on his own account, adjusted the sticky sliding door so it moves smoothly. Mike's boss, Brian, also came several times to look over the project. I feel very fortunate to have had MASTERCRAFT take on this hugely complex project and bring a disaster to a happy ending.They explained options, patiently answered my questions and were courteous and pleasant throughout. Bill is a true craftsman! I've had a wood gate that has needed rebuilding for the last 8 years…read more Pieces of the wood gate were rotting. Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.

John installed a brand new designer Home Depot outside door at our home in San Diego. This involved taking the existing door & frame out without destroying the stucco. John had the right tools & experience to get the old door out without damaging any existing outside or inside frame, etc. He installed a new 2x4 frame and then the prehung door. Inspite of the new 'rough frame' being perfectly square & level, the new door would close slightly when in the full open position. Turned out, the 'prehung Home Depot' door was not properly mounted. John was able to overcome the problem to our complete satisfaction. We will definitely have him back for our next project which is a new floor in our main bathroom. I got a quote from a couple companies, but it just didn't feel right. Then, I reached out Travis and Daniel with Next Generation. Their professionalism from the start was miles ahead of the other two companies I called. They were on time, very friendly to my family, and it was obvious that they were very knowledgeable. This wasn't a simple remodel. Before, we had a tiny shower on the left, and a huge tub on the right which we never used. Travis explained that we could use both existing drains and create one huge master shower. Their pricing wasn't the cheapest, but also not the most expensive between the other quotes I received. The kicker is we got so much more with their proposal and design. It was a no brainer. Before the work started we got a detailed calendar of each process from demo, to final clean. I can't stress enough how detailed they were, and kept us in the loop the entire time. If the guys left for the day before we got home, we were always updated with pictures and even sometimes videos of what was accomplished! Everything was done by their in-house team, so I didn't have to worry about having random subcontractors at my house. This level of customer service is really a breath of fresh air. The end result speaks for itself. Not trying to brag on my new bathroom (I kinda am ). Look how the sides are mirror images of each other! I saw the guys take time to make sure the movement in the tile pattern all lined up! Needless to say, these guys are all professionals from Travis and Daniel the owners, to everyone else on their staff. Do yourself a favor. Stop rolling the dice on other random companies and call Next Generation. PS. I already have them on our calendar to return early January to paint the exterior of our house, and refinish our kitchen cabinets.

I wouldn't characterize the sudden burst of water that flowed from our kids' toilet as a storm, but it was an unexpected happenstance that upended our lives for almost three months. Ironically, my wife and I had been contemplating restoring our outdated bathrooms, but I had explained to my wife that we needed to wait until the home interest rates plummeted, so that we could refinance our home in order to remodel our bathrooms. God Is Good All The Time and we know He heard us, but I wouldn't have fathomed that us getting new bathrooms would have occurred this way. We are so thankful to God that He allowed Aaron McFadden, Freddy and his team, and Element Construction and Restoration to be the main contractor that were responsible for the beautiful bathrooms, new flooring, and restoration of the damage that occurred from the water damage. Our home was built in the 1970s, so it's antiquated and prone to have issues such as water leaks and other problems associated with owning an older room. Unfortunately, this is our third time having some type of water issue. We've had a slab leak, a leak from our water heater, and this most recent iteration, a sudden burst of water from our kids' toilet. When this most recent episode transpired, I was a veteran of handling the basics of having to deal with a water leak such as reaching out to my insurance, contacting a plumber, and ensuring mitigation assisted with our situation. What I wasn't experienced about was construction and restoration of three bathrooms, part of our downstairs ceiling, affected walls, and our downstairs flooring. Praise God our go to plumbing company, All American Plumbing, recommended a small business and North County construction contractor named Element Construction and Restoration. The owner of the company and Aaron are family, so it's a family-run business based out of Oceanside. They have work all over San Diego, so they provide service around San Diego County. Full disclosure, I'd rate Element Construction and Restoration 4.5 stars because we did have some delays as a result of wrong materials ordered, but I would give Aaron, Freddy (one of the subcontractors Aaron uses), and Freddy's team 5 stars based on the impressive workmanship, diligence, and how everything that was restored turned out. Writing about their work doesn't do it justice, so please look at the pictures of the project. It truly was a blessing to work with Aaron. He's a friendly dude, has a positive disposition, was overly communicative in a good way, and he was completely transparent about everything including being apologetic for some issues that came up during the project. From the start of the work where Aaron came out to measure things to our final inspection where he scrutinized the work that was done, he was professional and knowledgeable about what we were going to embark on. What I also appreciated about Aaron was keeping my adjuster in the loop and updated about anything that came up from our project. One of the things I want to upgrade in our home is our kitchen, but I'm not looking for God to put us through another storm. If you're in the market for construction, restoration, or renovation of your home, I highly recommend Aaron and Element Construction and Restoration.
