Eat at Rocket and get gas. Hahahaha. Kidding aside, this is one of the best places in Spokane. I love the wine guy, the wine selections, the atmosphere, the selection of produce and the way everything is beautifully lighted. That said, there are some things they could....stand to improve. For one, there is one female employee in particular who wears men's Obsession cologne, and she wears so damn much of it, you can taste it. I hope she is never working there on a night when they have a wine event. That much fragrance is NEVER appropriate when you are working around food. I was told this was the one safe spot in Spokane, and yet there was a customer inside with their mask pulled down. I also tried to purchase some wine, and I was denied because my ID is vertical. They said they don't accept vertical IDs, even though I am 21. Horizontal IDs are not even made anymore, so this is an outdated policy. 21 and 22 year olds have vertical IDs now, and if I'm of age I am legally allowed to purchase alcohol. Love this place! My husband and I, ride out here on our motorcycles to get lunch, my favorite is the curry pea's, his is the Carlito burrito with vegan sour cream. Wine tasting are a blast, with great instructions on pairing with cheese. There is also a wine of the month club too! read more

Great market in the south hill. Reminds me if a whole foods but on a smaller local scale. Great selection of wines and very knowledgeable of them and willing to find what you are looking for. Everyone that works there is very friendly with great personalities! Parking lot can get packed with no parking. They make a mean cup of coffee. read more

This is such a cool place. When I come to Spokane, I know I can rely on visiting here at least three times and I look forward to it. I feel the awesome beer and wine selection alone makes it worth 5 stars. However the other offerings solidifies it's 5 stars in my book. Their bakery items are very good; from breakfast items to desserts. Also, I am always happy with their produce. I really like this place!!! There's nothing else like it around Spokane. Basically, Rocket Market is a gas station & market and also a café. They have baked goods from Boots, coffee & other drinks, as well as amazing soups and sandwiches. I took off a star because everything is slightly overpriced and I did not care for their coffee. Service is always amazing and I highly recommend any of their sandwiches. I usually get the white cheddar & pesto but I tried their fig sandwich on pita bread the other day... heavenly! read more

Upside? Is the brunette that works there. She is always helpful and on top of things. She is their saving grace...cuz God knows they need it. Owners? Rude. Especially the guy. My son and I were once sampling kombucha to decide which too choose. The jerk walks by and tells us we were sampling too many. Cleanliness?? I don't think they've cleaned it since they opened. This place is filthy. The location is perfect for those on the south hill that consume mass amounts of wine. That seems to be their focus. They no longer have the same person running the bistro...and it's apparent. That has gone downhill. Service with a friendly and helpful attitude?? No. That starts from the top. And it's clear there is a lack of leadership. If your owners are constantly there and working, that's a clear sign their business runs them, they don't run the biz. Most favorite little place on the south hill!! One stop shop!! You can get gas, flowers, wine, lunch, groceries, dessert, coffee, and a gift for a friend all in one stop. Mostly everything is fresh organic and homemade. The deli has amazing soups, salads, fresh fruit, paninis, breakfast items, and lots more. This is the best local bakery and deli. All natural organic products. For the last 9 years they have not disappointed. Although I love me some Trader Joe's the local businesses have got to be the best in any town. Today, post Bloomsday, I had the bomb dot com curried cauliflower and potato soup w a Brie cheese w smoked turkey and apple slices panini sammich... Hands down thee best! I also love the cilantro lime hummus and their tapenade is a beautiful medly. Please stop in and enjoy good food and music! With summer months coming up, they have live music at night. It took me a while to realize that the Rocket Market was a place to shop all the time. It feels like a yuppie boutique, but it's more than that. Sure, they have some super gourmet vinegar, for example. But they also have higher quality red wine vinegar than a grocery store's for about the same price. Their prices are generally comparable to grocery stores', only the quality is so much higher. Flowers that last two weeks! Real produce from real farmers! I think their key is relationships.They value their suppliers (you can hear it in the little signs describing things), and they value their customers too. I appreciate their finding all this great stuff, and selling it at fair prices. It's become my go-to place for eggs, milk and butter; fruit and vegetables; pasta, olive oil, and more. The staff is so kind, too. My five year old son accidentally broke a wine bottle. Not only were they gracious ("I broke one last week, too"), but I was greated warmly by the wine manager next time I saw him, a month later. read more

I love the Rocket! I love the wine selections and prices and I love Matt, the wine steward. Great beer selection too. I love the eclectic selection of groceries and hard to find items. Great local bakery bread. Great soups and I love the grilled paninis. Only thing is that the salads are getting a bit tired. After two and 1/2 years of shopping at Rocket I'd love to see some new, creative salads in the prepared case. Also love the Friday night wine classes although I wish I could attend more of them. Live music in summer outdoors is fantastic - don't stop! Love getting gas there too on my way home. I hope Rocket never dies at least for as long as I live on the South Hill. As I sit in the air conditioned sunroom at Rocket Market enjoying a cup of carrot ginger soup, I am stumped. Stumped because Rocket Market offers so much, I don't know where to begin. However, after savoring the flavors of the carrot ginger soup, I must start with Chef Shiloh and Jupiter Bistro, which is housed inside the market. Each day they offer a selection of three soups with the ingredients coming straight from their fresh local organic produce section. While the carrot ginger soup is incredible, my favorite treat is still the jalapeno soup which has just the right amount of bite. Always a crowd pleaser is the white cheddar and pesto Panini, served with fresh cut lemon. Dine in the sunroom or take it to-go. Dessert is a must with creations from Rocket Market and Fery's Catering. I've got to be honest. It is hard to choose just one. The temptations include cheesecakes, pies, and tarts, to name a few. I will never go there again. I have been coming to this place before it became the Rocket. In fact, my older brother use to play concerts here over a decade ago. If there is any place in Spokane that I consider(ed) myself a regular, it was here. They have a nice beer selection and music. This past Saturday, however, I went to the Rocket with my older brother-in-law and sister. When my brother-in-law went to buy the beers, they carded us all (which I don't have a problem with). They refused to let us have them though despite the fact that I am 25 because I had a vertical Washington driver's license. Apparently, it is a new store policy. I have never had this problem before anywhere. The explanation is that vertical driver's licenses are easier to fake...? What..?! In my opinion, the owner/manager probably doesn't have confidence that his staff can correctly identify someone's age. The girl (who was surely younger than me) refused to even look at my i.d. and was pretty rude about the whole thing. Sorry Rocket, I don't fell like i need to renew my license to get a beer. Even when I do get a fancy horizontal id, I won't be coming back to a store with such ridiculous policies. Instead of getting beer a couple of blocks from my house, I will be taking my friends to Huckleberry's or the Hop Shop where I don't have to put up with silly b.s. like this and the staff are friendlier. My advice. Stay away! read more
