I have never used movers before so when I decided to use movers for this move, I didn't know where to start. I Google movers in my area. I was still lost. Somehow ended up on yelp. Saw Rocket movers. Started reading and every review was great. People have used them over and over again. People said they costs more than others but totally worth. I booked them and didn't get anymore estimates. I had 3 guys come move me today. I had 2 stops. The place I was moving out of was 3 stories and tight corners. The guys were all amazing! Positive attitude, friendly, hard working. I was so happy, I am asking them to come back to help me tomorrow with another short move. One of the best moving experiences I have had. Only warning. They told me industry standard tipping was 15-20%. They have to hustle, it's their livelihood. I was a single female, good target. I didn't take the time to do my due diligence. Industry standard is 5% of total bill or $20-$40 per person. I tipped $196 total for 3 people. So I probably over tipped by $100-136$. As far as attitude and ease to deal with and care for my stuff, these guys were worth it. read more

Refrigerator Moving Rocket Moving Services sent three movers to pick up a Sub Zero refrigerator I bought from a private party in Thousand Oaks and deliver it to Torrance. The movers were on time for the pick up and the delivery, arriving at both locations at the time they quoted. They were polite and professional; and they were careful with our "new" refrigerator, which they picked up and delivered, including bringing it into our house without any damage. The guys who showed up were extremely slow and just tried to run up the time to make more money. They were unorganized and complained about having to move stuff upstairs! I repeatedly got on them about being slow and wasting time. When it was finally enough to just say screw it and I'll do the rest myself, they got upset with me for not giving them a 25% tip on top of their inflated hours and said that was "the standard tip around here". I hired them to unload our uhaul. I felt like it was a bit rushed but overall they did a good job. The unloading took a total of 45 mins but we paid for a full 3 hours (minimum booking). Overall it was a bit expensive but we were able to book them last minute. read more

Simply great at what they do. Professional movers who moved quick, and took good care of my stuff. They'll do as much as you need them to do, from breaking down the larger items (beds, etc) to get them out of the house and putting items back together at your new place, to packing up your clothes in boxes if you want to sit back and do nothing. Good with getting large, heavy items through narrow spaces. The guys were also pretty entertaining and funny. Will definitely use them again for the next time I have to move. read more

Rocket Moving Services is the most professional moving company I have ever encountered. From the quick response time of the first phone call from Jesus to discuss my move to every one of the 4 movers who came to my home and treated my belongings with care and love --I am impressed with this company. They give a complete estimate no hidden charges, bring supplies to wrap delicate objects and wardrobe boxes free for our use until the move is finished. There was total communication all day between the men. They arrived on time and after a brief organizational plan of how to load the truck the men worked effortlessly and without breaks(except a brief lunch) until the move was finished. We have 12 steps to the second floor and there was never a complaint about how many times they had to go up and down with items. Not an item was broken and not once did I need to remind them to be careful. They were a well trained, friendly staff. A rare gem in this industry. This is THE WORST MOVING COMPANY!! Not only did they take forever, their ghetto truck broke down (the workers asked if they could smoke a joint while they waited for help), they dented our stainless steel fridge, broke the the leg off our wine fridge and "lost" three important boxes containing all our storage lids and all my Xmas wrapping paper and greeting cards. The owner yelled at me and then my fiancé. The owner said we had a deal at $1200. I'm disgusted. The truck had graffiti on it when it showed up at 9:00am. I should've followed my gut and said leave. I'm extremely disappointed and hope that no one uses them in the future. read more

First of all everything about this move was outstanding. From the first phone call to the quote to the communication before the move to the move itself. This was a pretty involved move with 3 different pickup locations. Not a glitch! It was one of those 100 degree days 14 hours total and the guys could not have been more upbeat and accommodating. All 4!! The nail biter on this move was trying to get an original mural painting 8'X12' through French doors hoisted up to the second floor. The first set didn't fit. Rather than call it a day they noticed another set that were a couple of inches larger and wanted to try those even though they had to get on their knees and inch along an extremely steep incline. I can't remember anyone ever going through so much to help me so needless to say I was overwhelmed with gratitude. I would most certainly recommend this company to anyone who wants a reasonable price and to feel completely comfortable with someone moving their precious cargo!! read more
