Jason's interest is clearly not in the painting business but rather singing and playing in bands with his wife. I bought all the paint and delivered it to the house. The painter who came to paint missed areas on walls close to ceiling (ea area larger than a paint roller brush). When I pointed it out, the guy would say, "well it's only the first coat", and blew me off. So after the second coat, guess what: those 3 areas of different rooms, had only one coat. The painter used only one roller brush on the entire job. The walls were dusty and had not been painted in years. I was going to paint all the trim work so I told the painter if he rolled up against window trim it would be ok. Jason came to job on last day to collect payment. I was on my way to the house. On the phone I told Jason that I could not understand why I wasn't seeing bright white after 2 coats on the back bedrooms. Jason, ended up quitting on me over the phone and pulled his guy off the job. He left the deal without finishing 2nd coat on front room walls & ceiling, dining room ceiling, and 2nd coat on foyer ceiling and walls. He said he would adjust his bill price by discounting his bill by $100. I sent him a check and took off another $100 for the painting that was left undone. He received over $1,000.00 for painting (I bought all the paint) a vacant, small home, carpet ripped up, no window treatments, no hvac vents on walls/ floors. Only painted most walls and ceilings with the same cashmere white paint on everything (one roller). I knew early on that I would never use this company again. I repainted their entire work myself after I realized that sherwin williams brand called Cashmere in extra white does not give the same bright white as sherwin williams super paint extra white does. And they are supposed to be the professionals.

I chose a style and pattern that complemented my existing interior and resembled wood. Canyon did an excellent job during the installation, closely matching the original stain and trim. As with most jobs, there can be challenges and unexpected issues that arise during the process. Canyon handled them seamlessly with their creative thinking, techniques, and skill. They also did a great job wrapping my open stairway risers with carpet. I would highly recommend Canyon for flooring and carpet work.

Schiller Hardwood Floor Designs LLC recently refinished my oak flooring in October 2016. I made the…read moreappointment a few months prior and the work was done the same week scheduled. My floor was installed when we built the house in September 1998 and had not been refinished since that time. It had water damage from watering plants, a leaky dishwasher and refrigerator water lines. I also had a large stain from ink, etc. There were also a few things I wanted done besides just refinishing the oak flooring. I wanted all my base shoe molding removed before they sanded the oak floor and I wanted it reinstalled upon completion of the job. Schiller Hardwood was the only flooring contractor of the 3 I interviewed that said they would remove and reinstall the base shoe before sanding the floor. I was happy to pay the additional cost. Additionally I requested they remove and install new maple toe kick under my kitchen cabinets and island and make a new custom transition oak board to be installed between my oak floor and ceramic tile flooring. I also had oak trim around a soapstone tile area that had to be sanded and finish applied very carefully so as not to get any on the tile. There was no damage to the tile at all. In my opinion my oak floors look brand new after they were done, which I did not think would even be possible. See for yourself with my 2 before and 2 after photos I will attempt to upload to this review. All my stains are gone, and believe me the ones from the dishwasher, refrigerator and ink were jet black! The water stains from my plants are not visible. The sanding job they did was fantastic, it is an art not to have any swirl marks whatsoever on the floor. They managed to take every piece of base shoe off, mark it and reinstall it exactly as it was. The custom transition piece they made for between the oak and ceramic floor looks great. I am very pleased with the outcome of my floors!

Brian arrived on time and did a great job! He was also very nice, which is important when someone is spending a few days at your house.

After an interior updating in 2017 we were due for an exterior makeover on our home that's 26 years old. Further, when the old siding was removed we found one third of the house didn't have foam insulation and a vapor barrier in back of the siding. Half the siding crew stopped, got the needed materials, and did the job right. Wow! The icing on the cake? On November 10 we had a bad storm come through and we were concerned about hail/storm damage. I contacted Eldridge right away and Chris, our contact person at Eldridge, came out right away and went over the entire house and the house was fine with just a couple of minor dents in the gutters on the west side of the house. One of the best advantages of Eldridge is they work out the paperwork for insurance claims, if necessary. Well done, Eldridge Roofing!

We hired Ascending Construction for a master bath remodel. The quality of the carpentry part of the…read morejob was well done. Unfortunately we encountered several problems along the way. The estimates we were quoted for both the drywall finishing and plumber were off by half adding around $1000 to the job. About a week after the job was finished, the grout in the til started cracking. He came out to repair it. 3 weeks later, the cracking continues and a tile popped free. We consulted with a tile installer who informed us that the job was completed without an underlayment, so the tile would have to be completely removed and reinstalled, for the cost of $1000. When reached out to the contractor again with no response.

I used temporary supports from Home Depot to be safe, but I live relatively far away and don't work in construction anymore, so I needed someone to come and fix this. It was difficult to find someone, but a neighbor recommended this company. They knew exactly what needed to be done. The pergola had been in place for 20 years, but wasn't built to last much longer than that. This father and son came in, and spent a day installing three new posts, matching the original style exactly, leveling the beam perfectly, using concrete footings and painted everything to look brand new. They might be busy as great contractors are hard to find, but plan ahead and wait until they can service your project, and you will be glad you did. For reference, I sometimes visit my past construction customers from 30 to 40 years ago when I go back to CT, and my work still stands - my point is that I know what I'm talking about, and I'm grateful both to these guys and the neighbor who recommended them.
