Although my wife and I agree that we like Boiling Crab's The Whole Shabang over their Rockin' Combo, their food is still really good. We always order the same things: one pound each of mild rockin' combo shrimp, one buttery corn each, and one serving of rice. There's never a wait here, the number and size of their televisions is great for game days, and I don't have to drive to Sac or San Jose for Boiling Crab. All in all, a great restaurant worth checking out if you're willing to get your hands dirty with some good seafood. read more

We went to rockin crawfish Saturday evening we were welcomed as soon as we walked in and seated immediately. There were a lot of families enjoying there meals and we were so excited to be there. Worst customer service EVER.. Some friends and I attempted to dine on 10/14/19 , I called at 8:43pm to make sure they closed at 9:30pm only to be told they were already closed. This isn't the first time it has happened. And if you're already inside they try to rush you out , they come by 30-45mins before closing time and tell you they are closed so you need to leave. The food was delicious as always but i feel like the customer service could've been a lot better. It just seemed like they were more focused on closing instead of making sure my party was taken care of. Like refilling drinks and making sure we had enough napkins. This was my first time at this location and the experience wasn't that great. I guess I'll just have to stick with the concord location to experience the way a customer is supposed to be treated. Came to Rockin Crawfish for dinner on a Saturday night with reservations for 18 people and a baby. Upon arriving, the restaurant wasn't as packed yet. Only 4 people from our party were already seated. Our server, Vivian (I think that's her name), was very prompt and arrived to take our drink orders, coming out many times to bring out drinks for late comers to our table and take appetizer orders. Since we had so many people, I think we sat at the table for a good 45 minutes before we actually ordered food other than appetizers. I ordered 1lb of crawfish, rockin combo, orginal with potatoes, and gumbo with rice. My boyfriend ordered 1 lb of shrimp, rockin combo, mild with corn. Considering we had so many people, Vivian did a great job at getting down everyone's order correctly without any errors. Anything we needed, like extra napkins, extra straws, more limes, she came out with it as quickly and swiftly as she could. In terms of the food, my lb of crawfish was nice and meaty. I had a range from small, medium, and large pieces of crawfish. And the sauce was good. Original wasn't too spicy for me, which is perfect for me due to my inability to handle spicy foods. The gumbo was good too. There was a nice kick to it from the black pepper that was in it. I kinda wished that they had put more rice in it though. But overall, it was a good meal. Everyone who had shrimp said the shrimp was very meaty and juicy. The rockin combo sauce was good too. Not watery but slightly thickened, but still had good spices to it. Before I forget, I also tried the garlic noodles. They're good but very garlicky. Like so garlicky, you still taste garlic on your breath even after swallowing and washing it down with a drink. The service was top notch. Even though the place was packed, there were multiple waiters ensuring we had everything we needed. The folks did a great job opening up and making a good name for themselves. On top of what's on the menu for beer, they also had three others on tap. Lagunitas IPA was one of the unlisted beers. Chicken wings were cooked just how I wanted, soft and lightly crispy with the sauce on the side. Sauces for the shrimp run on the spicy side and the air conditioning didn't seem to be running since they had both doors propped open. Once there I paid for my food and they told me about 15 minutes this was at 3:00 it is now 3:38 and I'm still waiting for my food. If I didn't pay already I would have left but I can assure you I won't be back this place is by no means packed or busy and the staff is all sitting at the bar eating lol!! I've had multiple Cajun/creole seafood spots, and this was probably the least tasteful spot. The sauce with the seafood was runny and not very flavorful. The garlic noodles tasted as if they just used the pre-chopped garlic in a jar (fresh garlic tastes way better in cooking). The customer service was great. Came to San Pablo to visit some family and stumbled upon this place when where we wanted to go was full. It's a bit on the higher end for prices but honestly I don't mind paying a pretty penny when I have it for great seafood. Rocking crawfish is usually my jam I've been many times. I usually sing their praises and brag on them. I took my mother and her friend there a few weeks ago I spent $90 and my shrimp werent cleaned. Usually i come and the food is fantastic and the shrimp is clean instead of apologizing the waitress says they cant be cleaned which I explained to her that they werent like this before. I went here last Saturday 11/1/15 and was very excited to try the food because I had seen so many pictures that friend's had posted about this place. When me and my friend arrived we were told to have a seat. We sat there for about 5-7 minutes and there were many tables open and other people started to walk in and then the guy seated them. I ask if we were going to get seated and he was like "oh yeah, I'm sorry". So basically he forgot we were there. We get seated and after about 10 minutes I had to attempted to stop 2 waiters just to get some water. We get the water and now we are ready to order, but the waiter keeps flying past us. The waiter then comes near our table and starts to look around because she doesn't know who to take an order from, so I raised my hand and then she came and took my order. I ordered the king crab legs (garlic original), corn and potatoes. We wait about 20 minutes for our food and when I open the bag, it looked like it was soaking in some type of spices. I began to eat and immediately my mouth gets hot because it was spicy and I asked for original meaning no spices. I made the waiter aware and she did offer to re-cook it for me without the spices, but we had been here already for about an hour and been forgotten about 3 times. I attempted to eat the food and obviously needed more water to do so, but couldn't get our waiter to stop and bring me another cup of water so my friend flagged down another waiter. Needless to say this was a bad experience for me especially since I was looking forward to eating here. I will not go back here and highly disappointed. read more

Food is good. You eat with your hand(plastic forks and spoons are supplied). Some snooty people ask for rubber gloves, I guess they don't know how soap and water work. My daughter loved the plastic lobster bibs and eating with your hands. I ate and was waiting for more than 15 minutes for my waiter (Mary L.) to notice I had been done with my food awaiting my check as she constantly walked past me making it too obvious that she was following the male waiter around flirting and playing all while I waited to be serviced. I finally got to the point where I couldn't wait any further and just clearly asked for my check as she looked at me as if she didn't understand my frustration. I'm sorry but there needs to be someone working there who can oversee the operation as this was clearly unacceptable and there seems to be no regard for customer service. No one even checked to see if there was a problem with the food nor if I needed anything. I'm sorry but I'll only be going to the Oakland location at least they know and understand how to conduct themselves at work and maintaining good customer service. Definitely give this place 5 stars! For it being 4 o'clock when we got there, it was pretty empty, which I really liked because we were seated right away! I give so much kudos to our server, Jess, for not only being the only one (from what I have seen) taking orders from people but also cleaning tables after customers have left. She was great on refilling our waters and making sure everything was going great for my boyfriend and I. The food was great. I mean, nothing different than Boiling Crab from I think. But the one thing I loved about it was that my food was still hot even after 10-15 minutes it was delivered to our table. THIS IS WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: The only downside I did NOT like about this place was the choice in music. I'm all for rap/hip-hop/R&B, but I feel like it wasn't appropriate. There was a family sitting next to my BF and I, and they were with their young daughter, I wanna say 7-9 years old.
