Literally the best happy hour I have ever had. The $1 oysters were so fresh, we also had the cilantro lime which were huge and so yummy with the sauces. The mussels were the best dish, though. The broth and the pulpy tomatoes were divine. Furthermore, our server, Allison, was the sweetest and most charming woman. The prices for the happy hour were so inexpensive yet they had such great menu selections that were all great. Our waitress was great, but there was a woman in a black top, black skirt, and pink/purple lipstick that made us get to a point where we, a group of multiple women who were eating and drinking, not being rowdy by any means and are professionals, will not be going back. The location is very nice with outside dining and a view of water. The food however was very disappointing.. I was there with three people. My friend had a steak which was ordered rare, understanding that the center May Be cool. This steak was seared on the outside only and the entire middle was fairly raw. The Demi Glacé sauce was thick, I.e. could not Be poured on the steak. My meal was a ravioli dish with scallops for 29.00. The sauce was a creamy pesto and the the ravioli was fine. The scallops however were awful. They tasted less than fresh and were very over salted. Three of the people tasted them and agreed they were almost inedible. The Caesar salad with shrimp was ok. Small and served with three large shrimp for 24.00. My nephew ordered a fried chicken sandwich which was over cooked and very dry. We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch (which could not be cancelled without being charged). Our reservations were at 12:15. We arrived to an insanely packed lobby at noon and checked in. We were told that they were running about 15 minutes behind, and we would be seated shortly. We checked in again around 12:30, and were told that people were taking longer to finish up their meals than the restaurant expected, even though they had signs everywhere saying there was a 90 minute limit on all tables. We were then told by the hostess that they were clearing our table off and we would be seated right away. Our hostess sat another party of the same size who had also had 12:15 reservations (and had arrived about 15 minutes after us) and we continued to wait. When someone from our party went up to check in, we were told they did not have enough chairs to seat us. We did not get seated until 1 PM. Unfortunately, we did have two children with us and them waiting in a standing room only lobby for one hour when they are hungry is not ideal. Our waitress was prompt and fairly attentive, it was very busy. The food was decent, but nothing was spectacular. A lot of things were out and no one noticed or refilled them until a customer would ask. Many of the dishes and sides were cold (mashed potatoes, waffles, eggs, chicken). All in all, we drove A little over an hour to spend Mother's Day here, and it was a less than stellar experience. We understand business is being short staffed, but you also have to know your capacity and your limits, and should not take reservations that you cannot accommodate. It's also incredibly rude to customers that have been there longer than anyone else to be told their table is ready and then to turn around and give that table to someone else and have those same customers wait an additional half hour before being seated. We were given a coupon for Father's Day, but we will not be returning. We wish you luck during future events. read more

Terrible Mother's Day experience. Wish I could rate it 0 stars. My boyfriend made a reservation and upon arrival we were told "did you know it's a buffet? Lots of people didn't know that." Which is probably because whoever was taking reservations didn't say that. Since it was Mother's Day at 5 o'clock we knew we wouldn't be getting a table anywhere else. They also took his credit card info when he made the reservation, so we weren't sure if they'd charge us either way. The buffet was absolutely terrible. Cheese plate with half melted cheese that clearly had been sitting out for hours, overcooked prime rib, pasta with no flavor. No salad dressing for the salad. We were looking forward to getting oysters and having a nice seafood dinner. Instead we ate awful food, sat for 15 minutes because we were so mad, and spent $180 (with tip) on a terrible buffet for two people and one beer. We got a babysitter for this and drove an hour. I'm still ticked. Will never be back and wish I could get my money back. read more

Terrible!!!! We stayed at the inn at mystic and both days we tried to order lunch by the pool. First day the Chop salad with grilled shrimp. Both salads had no grilled shrimp. Second day day grilled chicken Caesar salad. Yep, NO GRILLED Chicken!! The salad was defiantly grilled too!! 3 pieces of wilted romaine lettuce and a couple croutons!! For $23.40!!! I wish I took a picture because I couldn't believe it. The first time it was frustrating to have to bring it back but the 2nd time there was no excuse!! To top it off when we brought the Caesar salads back they refunded us $22.00 the cost of the salads without tax. My husband was so aggravated! he said it wasn't worth going in and dealing with them again over $1.40. read more

Mixed reviews...I went here when they first opened for breakfast with my dad. It was early spring so we sat inside next to a window overlooking the water. Service was great! Our sever always came in the check if we needed anything or asked how our food was without hovering. I got a few blueberry pancakes which had a slight crunch on the rim of the pancake, and were so fluffy and delicious inside! I also got a bowl of "seasonal fruit" all of which was perfectly ripe and fresh. After having such a great breakfast experience I decided to go here for happy hour with my boyfriend. I guess happy hour is only served at the bar and the tables directly next to the bar. So the atmosphere was loud and dimly lit. We ordered 20 raw oysters of $1 a piece. They came about 10 minuets later we ordered and then our waitress disappeared until she dropped off our check thirty five minuets AFTER we had finished the oysters. After watching her bounce around from her other tables. Maybe she forgot about us? Assumed all we were getting was oysters? Not quite sure.....Anyways I made it clear why she was getting a 10% tip on the check since she did not come back to pick up the check after dropping it off! So after one really great dining experience and one terrible experience I do not recommend dining here to anyone. read more

This was formally known as the Floodtide, which was on Restaurant Impossible! I thought I recognized the place and now I know why! So if you're like me, you see all the bad 2 - 3 star reviews and I think that's when they were switching over management or something, either way, I loved my experience here. We didn't have reservations for a table of 5 but we ended up at a high top in the "bar" area and it was great! We had a sweeping view of the bay and the lights at night. The calamari was so fresh and paired nicely with some feta? and marinara sauce on the side. It was great! I had the 18oz rib-eye steak, medium rare. The steak and the bernaise sauce was good, I wished they gave me a little more sauce though! And the menu said that it came with curly truffled fries, which was why I chose that over the filet, however that night, none of the sides on the menu actually came out. They came out with mashed potatoes and carrots and a couple of pieces of string beans... which is why they're not getting a 5 star review from me. Sorry, I paid for what was said on that menu and got less and was not informed about it at all. However, the service that my table received from our waiter was very nice. He was quick to help us to our table, get our drinks to us. But after two glasses of wine, I really really wished he was around so that I could ask for a cup of water. He didn't refill our waters, just our alcohol, lol. I did very much appreciate the fact that they didn't rush us out or make us feel like we needed to leave even though they were getting packed really quickly around 8pm. In this one, food delivery was slow, the french onion soup was cool, not hot, portions were small, and the waitress avoided us as much as possible. One portion of our order was never delivered, and several plates that we didn't order showed up at our table. The soup that wasn't delivered WAS on our bill. It isn't likely we'll return. read more

Lovely view from deck. Drinks were good and so was service. We ordered two small plates. The ahi tacos were very good (Wasabi dipping sauce is strong so use carefully) but the muscles were just ok. Very little broth (the best part with baguette). They were out of baguettes so gave us rolls which were okay with butter - not enough broth to dip. Some of the mussels were very fishy tasting which wasn't great. Overall our experience was pretty average. read more

Went there for my inlaw's 50th Anny. Not one meal was good. Steak with spinach and blue cheese missing the blue cheese and the walnuts on the walnut salad. Clams casino pasta was missing bacon....and flavor...and the parmesan cheese. Fish and chips was ok, but nothing special and the lobster roll had good lobster but barely any meat. 3 bites or so? My wife and I had dinner in the bar area here on Friday evening 8/15/14, our first visit to this restaurant formerly known as the Floodtide. I had the clam chowder along with the fried clam platter special and it was very good. My wife had the corn scallop chowder (special that day) and the Flood Tide Crepes from the appetizer menu. She liked her chowder and the taste of the crepes, but the size of the appetizer was very disappointing to her and she left hungry. The bar area was extremely noisy but festive. The wait staff appeared to be overwhelmed, but our server Ethan G. Took good care of us. The beer list is amazing, the outdoor atmosphere and views are great, which is why it's just too bad that the staff is sooooo grumpy!!! We felt like unwelcome guests. Don't even think about asking any questions! They will not be well received. As great as the beer list is, the staff isn't well versed on it. We were told that Lunch IPA from Maine Beer Company was served in a small glass, not a pint, because it's a double IPA. It's not. Ordered take out flat breads last night ,one cheese and one mushroom. First problem was that there online menu is not accurate and the actual menu is different. When I picked up my order the flat breads were not in pizza boxes ,but in small containers ,where they cut the flatbreads in half and put them on top of each other with nothing in between. This ruined the crust since it soaked up the oils from laying on top of the cheese.What a soggy mess. We did manage to pull some of it apart and eat it,not very good Also noticed when picking up my order the place was very dirty. We went to brunch at Harbor House and we're told it was a 25 minute wait to sit outside. The hostess offered an inside side room with a lovely view which looked out at the porch. We waited 20 minutes and ever saw a server. My husband went to ask for a server and one came to get our orders. We waited another 10 minutes and no drinks. Since the patio had empty tables we asked the hostess if we could sit outside. We were told No because we had not placed our name on the list. We insisted and we're given a seats outside. Still no drinks. We complained to another server who was apologetic and assured us they would be right out. Another 10 minutes No drinks. Finally after 40 minutes drinks and a mediocre breakfast. Great views but food disappoints. Typical fair for this neck of the woods but nothing to write home about. It's clear that the owners are happy with people just comming for the views and drinks. Went to lunch with my sisters today. Scott manages and his staff is friendly, accommodating .The food was absolutely delicious, presentation outstanding, for the quantity , quality, atmosphere and the pricing was very reasonable. As sisters will we talked and never felt rushed to leave. Only negative comment would be make Bloody Mary to order, don't pre mix . One member of table said to spicy (you could see all the horseradish) . My cocktail , a vodka tonic was served in a large glass, was delicious but only had one lime. For a large glass needs 2. Delicious! Went last night before the Seaport event and everyone was happy with their meals. I had the beet salad and Chicken Marsala, the chicken was delicious perfectly cooked and tasted delicious! Our friends had the lobster grilled cheese, Vermont burger and steak, all enjoyed! Can't wait to come back might even try staying at the inn! DON'T DO IT! Took my wife out for dinner. Had a reservation and had to wait a while to be seated. It was a busy night but still had to wait a while. This should have been the first clue of how bad the service would be. Once we were seated took about 15 minutes for anyone to come over. Ordered drinks and the waitress acted as if we were inconveniencing her and her schedule. Bottle of wine arrived after another long wait and we ordered. Appetizers arrived after 20 mins or so and they were not good. Note to all restaurants! Don't buy processed frozen items then warm them up and try to pass them off as "gourmet" cuisine. My steak arrived rare after I ordered medium-well. The blood was oozing out and covering my plate. After waiting again I had to flag someone down and sent it back. We went for brunch around 10:30 on a Sunday, the place was pretty empty so that should've been a warning. The service was slow but our waiter was nice. The food tasted bland, not terribly bad though. There wasn't much on the plate, definitely NOT worth the price. (It was pricey for the quality and quantity) My husband order the fillet and eggs, there was only one egg on the plate with the decently cooked piece of meat and 3 home fries. I had a plate with scrambled eggs (I ordered over-easy but didn't want to say anything cause it took forever just to get our food) and that wasn't very good either. It's just food for a hotels breakfast. Not coming back, we will stick to Carsons in Noank for our breakfast. read more

If you love the DMV this is the restaurant for you. We arrived to what we thought was a fairly empty restaurant at about 6:30 and were told we would have to wait until 8 to be seated. We made the reservation since we weren't in too much of a rush and went for a walk. We came back at 7:30. At 7:45 we let the hostesses know (all three if them) we were sitting over to the side and had the reservation for 8 pm. At 8:05 there were at least 4 open tables and we asked about sitting. We were finally seated a few minutes later (after all three hostesses looked at a strange map with arrows resembling a fourth down NFL play of the tables that were right in front of them). We were asked twice if we were the people we had said we were AFTER we were seated. (I know right). We were never given water and didn't see a waitress until about 8:30 when we almost decided to leave. (We would have gone to the ancient mariner which I highly recommend). The food wasn't awesome and it was overpriced for what we got. The waitress was kind but it took her a long time to get to us for everything. If you do decide to go bring snacks for the wait.
