I've never been a fan of boiling crab or any of the Cajun types of food, but I think this place has changed me. What I liked most about this place is that nothing was over seasoned. You also get to eat with both your hands without utensil!!! How often do you get to eat like a kid again!!! The staff is friendly and the service is phenomenal. Food comes out lightning fast also; within 5-10 minutes, you will get your entire order. Shrimp, mussels, clams!!! It's all delicious!!! The food here is almost identical if not better than boiling crab, which means you don't have to drive all the way out to rowland heights or alhambra. Definitely will be coming back. I actually came across this place while going to Boba Tea House and decided to try it. And...it was deeeelicious!! Flavor was pretty good and def not salty like BC! Service was great! The girls who work there are super nice and its a must to come back! I ordered the combo which included shrimp, mussels and clams in Holy Moly $11 not a bad deal at all! I read the reviews and was very curious to try this place, So my wife and I went ahead and tried the Rockstar Shrimp, were we very surprised, place is lil hole in the wall off of Blaine St, Tthe service is excellent, but as for the food not so much, we ordered the Shrimp $9.000 LBS and the Combo (Shrimp, Clams, Mussels) $11.000 LBS and a few Iced Teas, When served our meal in plastic bags our meal was just a brown glob, not very appetizing Well we said what the heck and just dumped the seafood on the table to go at it all! Well first off my wife was just grossed out on the shrimp, she is not used to having to pull off the heads, we also noticed the shrimp are not deveined, so when you peeled the shrimp you still have the poop vein still in the shrimp...yuck! I guess the sad part was the shrimp were also over cooked and when cleaned to eaten they just tasted rubbery, thank goodness there was that brown sauce that taste better than it looks, and had to scoop up the sauce to eat the shrimp . Come on even Bubba Gumps take the heads and devein their peel and eat shrimp. As for the mussels and clams they were ok. I don't know about the reviewers here that list 4 to 5 stars here apparently they love to eat shrimp heads and like shrimp poop I guess! The place has potential, just upgrade the prep a bit more there are enough collage students in the area needing jobs, and add a few bucks to the cost on the menu. read more

I love this place. I was living in Lake Elsinore and would drive once a week to eat here. I moved to Texas, then to Indiana and praying my husband would get called back to California. He did and now we live in Lancaster. I drove here two weeks ago and Sandy recognized me after being gone for more than a year. I drive out here 2 times a month now that we are in Lancaster. This was our first time here and we were pretty excited because we were in the mood for Boiling Crab but didn't want to make the hour long drive out there. When we walked in, we weren't acknowledged at all by any of the wait staff. It was really weird. We kind of just stood there and waited for someone to put our name down. The waitresses just kind of walked past us and didn't greet us or anything. We eventually figured out that we had to write our own names on the clipboard that they have hanging by the door...weird. Anyway, we got seated within 20 minutes and ordered within 10. We got our food relatively quickly, which was nice because we were starving! The food was pretty good. It was a little oily but the seasoning was good. We both got a pound of shrimp and some canjun fries to share. We left pretty satisfied! I really wanted The Boiling Crab, but didn't want to drive all the way to Orange County. We searched Yelp and found this place. It had decent reviews so we decided to try it. The staff was super friendly, especially our waiter, Eric. They were pretty busy and still managed to be fast. The food is great! We got the shrimp bag in the Holy Moly spice level. Honestly hands down the best Cajun restaurant in the riverside area. I've been to both boiling start crab and the one off university ave and this place is immaculate. I just moved to the area and found this place on yelp. I thought I'd give it a try. A few days ago I picked up dinner from here and couldn't wait to get home and chow down. We were very disappointed because it didn't taste good at all. We ate it anyway because it was already almost ten at night and I didn't feel like taking my family out late. So we all went to bed but within hours, one by one we found ourselves rushing to the bathrooms. There's six of us and three bathrooms, all were occupied. Every 5-10 minutes or so, we were running to the bathrooms. It got really bad the next morning, all my kids were sick from it and I could barely handle myself. We all got food poisoning! Couldn't even finish it. Lots of stone in the sea food it wasn't clean. Hurts ur teeth. I'm not going to eat seafood for a long time. My first impression of the place is that it didn't look like a cajun joint. The decor was rather plain but the joint was nice and clean. I had 2 pounds of clams with the kick me sauce and two cobs of corn. The clams were nicely spiced and tender. I liked how they served the corn with the shrimp so the cob could soak up the butter and seasoning. Very fine seafood at an affordible price. read more

One of the best places in Riverside! Our server Sandy was amazing, not only with the excellent customer service but the whole shabang! She was very sweet and upbeat, and answered any of my questions about the menu. I had the shrimp (kick me, which is what sandy recommended for my taste buds because I didn't want to cry (there most spicy flavor), which was a perfect in between of mild and medium spice. The shrimps weren't small like the some other restaurants I've been too, and had the perfect mix of garlic and their house spices. Happy happy happy!!! Rockstar shrimp has great food. Me and my wife love to go to Hot and Juicy in Las vegas and this place is better! Better flavor and very fresh. This place may not be for everyone, if your not adventureous or can't eat whole shrimp and crawfish with your hands not for you. Also be careful on the spice level. My wife and I love very spicy hot food and the two hottest spice is almost unbearable but so flavorful. We will be regulars here for sure. read more
