We only come here for one thing: the cut carne asada (or carne asada picada) that we cook on our Blackstone griddle (plancha) or the whole flap meat (asada preparada) we cook on our BBQ grill. We've tried the asada preparada at Northgate and at El Super, but for some reason, this tiny, hole-in-the-wall carniceria (butcher shop), does a good job of marinating the meat and using good quality beef. It's a little market, too, but the 3-5 minutes I spend in here is just for the meat counter. We often buy our asada here when we have a party, but lately we have been coming in more frequently for the pound or two just for lunch or dinner with the wife and kids and me. If you enjoy street tacos, you know that the meat is the star. Don't get me wrong; we still get our fresh corn tortillas, salsa and guacamole from Northgate, along with the mango habanero shrimp (also for tacos), to complete our taco cravings. But for my family and I, in La Habra, we go Raffa's all day long (and night, with some beers, please?). read more

Raffa's Market is a special find, it's a small store but they have all the delicious meats for BBQ, they have amazing salsa, their guacamole is delicious and chunky. It's tucked away but it's a wonderful little place to go if you want to BBQ some amazing meat! The chips are fresh and crunchy they have really delicious pork rinds they are crunchy and just so good. This place has friendly employees. The meat department has great Beef skirt, and the chicken that's been marinated ready to bbq is delicious. Oh and they also have a variety of salsas some are pretty warm "picosa" but delicious ! read more

I always wanted to stop by the Raffas market in Pomona but never had the chance this market in La Habra is really good it's medium-sized with a lot of stocked items and fresh seafood, meats, sausages vegetables, and just about everything you need. The hot prepared food is really good. The Carnitas are delicious. I ordered a breakfast combination of Carnitas beans and rice with a couple of fried eggs we also ordered chile relleno, and both dishes were good. The customer service was ok but like I said before I speak Spanish I read Spanish and write Spanish, but others don't and there seemed to be no one who was working that day who knew even a little bit of English and that's a problem with customer service but with that said everything else was good. Their desserts are really good. strawberries and cream, Las Agua de Fruta made just right, delicious Mexican bread. tamales everything made in store. I'll be visiting more often and soon. read more

A mini version of the now mega market located a few miles north of this place, but it has what a mega store lacks: homemade-like hot food, a friendly, attentive staff and a more than adequate supply of all your Mexican necessities for your home-cooking essentials. It's bigger sibling can't beat the flavors of the smaller point-point hot food bar where you are allowed to sample their dishes. I was there this afternoon and while shopping I thought I lost my wallet. So i approach personnel and asked if they would check the cameras to see where I dropped it. To start off this place is expensive now, I remember ordering the same food a couple of years ago for half the price. I called in to put a food order and they didn't answer in the kitchen and hung up on me. I thought maybe it was an accident and that it was busy so I called again and had the cashier take down my order and told me it would be 20 minutes. I get there 20 minutes later and the place was empty with only one other customer in there so I don't know why they weren't answering the kitchen phone. I tell them I'm there to pick up a phone order and they asked me what I wanted to order. I told them three times that I put in a phone order and they kept asking me what I wanted so I just ordered my food. I get home and realize that they took my order down wrong. I asked for my food without beans or onions and it's stuffed with beans and onions. At this point I'm very upset. I'm not one to get upset easily and I almost called them back to complain but I was in a very bad mood and didn't want to yell at anyone. I know mistakes can happen but everyone was completely unprepared and weren't doing they're jobs correctly during a slow time slot. Staff needs to pay better attention. This isn't the first time they've gotten my order wrong. P.S. I can NEVER find slices of pastel del mil hojas, I hope they didn't stop making it. read more

I wanted to BBQ and picked up a couple lbs of carne asada, a pound of marinated chicken, chorizo, salsa and corn tortillas which are made daily. The meats were lean and marinated perfectly. The salsa is pricey but worth every penny and the chorizo is awesome for b fast! I definitely recommend La Reina for marinated meats if your going to BBQ Mexican style. read more

Rude customer service and prices are expensive. There was 2 cashiers but they were talking to each other and to customers that I'm guessing are regulars. They noticed me in line but didn't acknowledge me. So, I'm waiting in line and a lady cuts in front of me and puts her things down on the counter and the cashier helped her first. As I'm waiting for her to finish charging her they're talking and talking and talking. By this time I wanted to walk out but needed to buy my items for my lunch. Never going back I bought 2 bolillos and an avocado total $5.99. I'm not sure if it's always pricey or the cashier just charged me based on what she wanted to charge me. I don't remember her entering anything into the register or even giving me a receipt, I should've asked for a receipt but I just wanted to get out of there. I usually buy bolillos elsewhere 4/$1 and I just bought avocados at $.69 yesterday I heard another customer complaining about prices going up and blaming the government about it .. My review isn't for the market as a whole. My review is specifically for the bionicos. I LOVE the bionicos that is sold here. I've tried the bionicos at North Gate and I didn't like it that much. I like my fruit cut chunkier, my yogurt thicker and my granola crunchier. I always come here for the bionicos. So good!!! read more

We ordered trays of prepared beans, rice, al pastor and chicken for a party we were hosting. The staff was so friendly and helped us figure out how much to order to feed all of our guests. The order was ready right on time and was so delicious. All of the guest commented on how much they loved the food! We also picked up some fresh fried chips and salsas the day of the event and they were amazing. We have ordered from Raffa's before and will continue to do so. Highly recommend! read more

This market used to be the best kept secret in LH for meats, chips and salsa. I had family that would come for a visit and after they had la Rena food they wanted to take it home in ice chests. The hot food counter was great but not anymore. The area was remodeled and now there's a small menu and the food was so bland. Everyone here is nice and helpful, I don't speak Spanish so I feel lost in some places that sell authentic foods. I just wish the portions of chips and salsa came in smaller sizes because it's too expensive to buy both for 1 person. read more

Where did La Reina go, dondé está? Went to get a T bone steak to cook for dinner. Went to the meat counter and was greeted by a butcher. So far so good. Asked for a T bone. He pulled out two steaks, wrapped them in plastic bag and off I went, but wait the meat was frozen !? I thought we'll see. Got home marinated then, then threw them on the grill. Being frozen I thought it would be difficult to grill. Not too bad. BUT when cutting and eating it was the proof. The cut definitely isn't USDA ANYTHING. La Reina had fresh cut meat, not so with Raffa's. I'll give them one more chance and see if their preparada is as good as La Reinas was. Strike one! read more

Nice super small Mexican market with a little bit of everything you might need. Bakery items, boxed, jarred and bagged food items, a few produce items, candies and drinks, beers... kind of a potluck arrangement of South of the Border assortments. There is also a little place where you can order food already made, I've never tried this out but I'm just letting you know. I will say that if you are in need of some amazing carne asada (or other Mexican style meat) for grilling... THIS is the store to run to before your BBQ event!!! Absolutely delicious and totally perfection every time. Seems that every time I go to a BBQ and they are grilling up some carne, I'll ask where they got their flavorful, juicy and tender meat...9 times out of 10 I hear "La Reina"... so there you have it, hombre! The bolillo bread here is delicious! They have freshly baked bolillo every day and getting it while warm is amazing! When you shop at this place make sure you double check your receipt !!! They like to over charge. I bought a few groceries (asada)and they charged me $125.00! This local neighborhood meat market has been price gouging our community for over a week now in response to the coronavirus fear grasping our community, n that's a total shame. Local shopper after shopper has complained on FB about their GOUGING practices. Prices are being raised just about daily on basic staple needs such as eggs, rice , beans , tortillas etc. They also employ a practice of not putting prices on their products on the floor. So you grab what u need thinking that it's the same as the previous weeks only to get sticker shock at the cash register.
