The tech called and said it would be $850 plus $95 service fee so I called a friend who owns a company 150 miles away and said what should this cost to have my unit cleaned . He said $99-$175! ‍ So I put on Facebook any recommendations and got a one man show company that came and cleaned for $99 and no service charge fee. ‍‍‍ I do have to say when I called SOS to cancel my appointment to repair they waived the service charge fee after looking at my scenario so the company does have some good employees.

And after a four-year period where everything has been running great, I had to have TCC come out again to check on my 17-year-old Amana high-efficiency furnace and the blower that brings in fresh air to the burners and exhausts combustion gases to an outside port along our front wall. That fan was running but cycling on and off, and we could smell some gas there at the exhaust exit panel outside. One quick email on Sunday, the 7th, and Austin from TCC arrived Monday morning to check out our issue. After disassembling our "inducer" motor/blower (a small fan in a gas furnace that creates a draft, pulling in fresh air for combustion and exhausting dangerous exhaust gases out through the flue) housing, Austin found the problem. After 17 years of use, the blower housing drain port was clogged (spider nest? dirt? both?) Austin cleaned it all out and flushed all the rubber drain tubes as well (which were also pretty gnarly), and that fixed it! All back together and running great...and the inducer blower now stays on and runs great. We're back in business on a solid 17-year-old Amana H.E. furnace! Five stars for prompt service response, fair pricing ($287 out the door), and a pleasant, professional, and communicative repair technician...Austin. Solidly recommend TCC, and ask for Austin if you can! Five Stars! P.S.: My neighbor across the street called me the next day and said that "...her furnace has just stopped working. Who would I recommend?" I didn't hesitate to recommend TCC...and they were there later that day. Their technician replaced their main furnace blower motor at a fair price. We used these guys twice, first time was a weekend emergency and the repairman was great and got…read moreeverything fixed for $600 including the replacement parts and emergency fee. We were impressed so we had them come back and fix a wiring issue with our thermostat. They didn't give us any bid but I assumed it would be at most the same as the first time since it wasn't an emergency weekend call and was a fairly quick fix. Two guys came, one was clearly learning in the job. They were here about half a day much of the time spent was them leaving to get a part. At the end I was handed a bill for over $1000. I was told I had to call right then to give them my credit card over the phone while he watched me. I called back after he left to talk to the manager since the bill he gave me didn't have any indication of what the part cost or even how many hours he was there. I was told someone would call me back about it the next day. I didn't hear from them for a week so I called again. Again I was told somebody would call me back. Over a month went by before anyone did. And then they just said the bill was correct and they refuse to give out hourly rates or part costs. Terrible customer service. I suppose it's my fault for not asking for a bid upfront, but do yourself a favor and don't use Thornton.
