ZACH is THE MAN. Amazing customer service and attention to detail. I found a used Audi A5 online and needed a AAA vehicle inspection completed, to ensure I wasn't going to run into any mechanical issues. I'm in Thousand Oaks, but the dealer asked that I used someone within a 5 mile radius. It's always SCARY, trying to find a TRUSTED and reliable mechanic!!! YELP and a referral from another AAA shop (who was too busy), referred me to Rocky's. I called Rocky's at 7:30am today (MONDAY). Zach actually picked up (most shops didn't answer), and told me to have the dealer bring it in. Mid afternoon, Zach called my husband and I to thoroughly run through all current and potential issues: brakes, value cover leaks, oil leaks, steering wheel issue. VERY DETAILED! One dreary day in 2006 or 7, Trip A sent me to Rocky's because he was the only guy who would honor my card who was worth the visit. I agree and I am still showing up to his crowded garage everytime my Liberty decides to throw a fit. I usually come in a mess, very dramatic like, shrugging my shoulders and explaining to Rocky that I have NO idea why my car is making a certain noise. Today's conversation went like this, Me: (jumping out of car screaming) Rocky! the brakes! the brakes! Listen! ahhhh! what do i do? I can't pay like thousands of dollars but its killing me, the grinding! oh the grinding! Rocky: Quiet down so i can hear it. Where is it? Turn your tire to left. Rocky: (after turning to left) Ohh, your brakes are down here! Your brakes should be up here! Kristy: whaa??? Rocky: Turn your brakes to right please. Rocky: (after turning brakes to right) Where your rotater??!! No rotater! what you do?? Kristy: Ahhhh! Rocky hold me!!! Rocky: You no need holding, you need rotater! So I braced (myself) for the damage. Is it gonna be $700, $800? I have a Jeep and nothing on the damn thing is cheap. Shaking his head, he told me it WOULD have only been $160 but with no rotater the grand total was gonna be..........................................$260. Hot damn! I kissed him! He asked me not to do that. So I threw in an oil change for a whopping $12 plus labor and walked out of Rocky's that afternoon another satisfied customer. I really love that man. Despite his "I'm-glad-I'm-not-your-father" tsk-tsk's he merely gave me a slap on the hand and sent me on my way. Since I've recently moved to LA, I've been hesitant where to take my car. Luckily, a friend recommended that I go to Rocky's Commercial Auto. I am so thankful I did! I took my car in for brakes, tune up, oil change and anything else it might need. I go in this morning hoping to schedule something in the next few days but no need. Rocky had me leave it right away and it was ready in a few hours. It didn't need everything I thought it did and honest Rocky didn't disappoint. I've been servicing my 3 cars at Rocky's from a small job such as oil change to transmission problem. He is very nice and will give you a choice what to do with your car. If you have enough money ask him for original parts but even the generic also work as fine as the original parts. This is my opinion based on experiences with Rocky's Commercial Automotive. At one time Rocky's was thee best auto mechanic. His work was good and prices were reasonable. Then Rocky retired to the front office and a new crew took over. Soon the cost of my repairs skyrocketed. One time my timing somehow got messed up. I had to keep my foot on the gas at traffic lights so the car would not stall. This has NEVER happened with any of the ten cars I ever owned. I took the car in to Rocky's and picked it up when repairs were SUPPOSED to be completed. Drove away and the first red light I came to, the EXACT same problem that I just paid hundreds to repair was still there. I turned around and drove back to Rocky's. They claimed they forgot make an adjustment. Several minutes later the car was fine and I was again on my way. Later I started thinking; exact same problem, 5 minutes to repair, no more problem. Seems way to coincidental to me. I wondered what was disconnected, how it was disconnected to cause the problem that took only minutes to fix. Later I had to have a steering gear replaced. It involved disconnecting the front wheels so they were no longer restrained by the steering gear. This allowed the wheels to be pushed further to one side or the other than under normal circumstances. When the repair was finished my Horn and Cruise Control, which worked when I dropped the car off, NO LONGER WORKED. I was told it was an old car and things go bad !!!! Strange that it went bad while being worked on. After spending weeks investigation, I was told the cable that controls the Horn and Cruse Control could break when the wheels are disconnected and no longer restricted. Can you say shoddy work. Can you say excuses excuses excuses. Another strange event came with in the form of a transmission leak. Yet another very expensive repair. By this time I had lost all faith and trust in Rocky's. I had formed the distinct opinion that they were "adjusting" my car so it would need repair, like so many mechanics and dealerships do. After taking the car to at least three places that wanted to replace one or both transmission hoses at a cost of 300.00 to 600.00. I went to a mechanic who put the car on a lift and found the knuckle between the hoses was loose. He was astounded, stating he did not know how this could happen as the knuckle never comes loose, as it takes a lot of torque to loosen. It does not just loosen by itself. Gee another very suspicious and expensive make work project. Unfortunately it took me a long time to get smart, unlike a friend who had his breaks repaired only to have them go out a very short time later. It is sad as Rocky, when he did the work himself, was once a great mechanic to go to with your car. read more

Because my problem was a problem that needed specialized equipment to calibrate the computer that the morons at Star ford in Glendale wouldn't deal with after they failed at repairing, Rocky couldn't help me. Don't know which mechanic to use? Pick Rocky's! I've been coming to Rocky's for 3 years now. Not only have they done a solid job consistently, but I drive a '79 Nova which presents tricky, unique problems. Anytime a part was replaced or fixed and still had issues, they would take it in and fix it u til it was right. There was even a time when my car had trouble passing smog, I took the car in to hopefully get it fixed, they did a small adjustment and gave it back to me without charge...and my car passed smog. Not convinced? When it was time to take my girlfriends newer car, a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, to fix an a/c fluid leak they were able to diagnose and fix the issue within an hour and gave her an amazing deal. I am so appreciative that I told them I would write a review (even though I should have written this long ago). Furthermore, I took my car into another mechanic 1 time In Burbank off magnolia because they said they worked on old cars. I instantly regretted that decision. It was a stressful situation and made me realize when it comes to automotive shops, bigger is not always better! The best place to take your car! I live in Santa Clarita and will drive to Burbank just so I can take my car to Rockys. They are honest and trustworthy and that's all I can ask for! Every time I bring my car in, they will take a look at the issue, call you and tell you what it will cost for the repairs as well as their honest opinion. If you end up not wanting to proceed, they will give you your car back, free of charge. They also have affordable prices! I am so impressed with their work every time I bring my car in. UPDATED my 1 Star Rating to a 5 Star Rating After leaving my negative review here on Yelp, Zach from Rocky's Auto Commercial got in touch with me again and tried his best to solve any issues that arose after bringing my car to their shop. They agreed on fixing what needed to be fixed on their costs and I finally can use my car again. I appreciate their efforts and I am not sure how many mechanics would have done this. Everything that happened the first time I brought my car there left me highly disappointed. But after fixing my car and writing back and forth with Zach via Yelp I feel there's an honest person behind it who is trying to keep their customers satisfied as best as he can. I'd be willing to give this place another try, despite the first impression. ---Old Review ----------------------------------------------- DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! Just to make clear, my car was always running great, I did regular oil check ups and it never left oil leakage stains when I parked it. The day when I got towed to Rocky's through AAA, I wasn't able to shift anymore. They gave me an estimate on what needs to be fixed, which was 1400$ for replacing the clutch and the slave cylinder. That's a lot of money for a car like mine, but I decided to pay for it and save me the hassle of getting a new car. However when they returned the car, it smelled burned every time I drove it. And it felt super weird on the street. There was also a rattling noise from the front left side of the car. Clearly something went wrong during the repair. So I decided to get another opinion on it and drove my car to FIrestone, where I usually bring my car and have them check it out. There they told me that it's leaking heavily from the Transmission. Rocky's didn't point that out when they gave me the estimate and even before I got towed I checked the bottom of my car and couldn't see any leakage. And like I said earlier my car has also never leaked before. So I brought it back to Rocky's and he said he'll check it out again. They told me that the car IS NOT leaking from the transmission but from the engine instead and it has nothing to do with their labor, but they'd be happy to fix it for another 600$ charge. I drove my car home instead again and parked it in my garage overnight. The next morning I had this giant pool of oil under my car. Exactly where their labor took place in. When I pay 1400$ after asking them what is wrong with my car and what needs to be fixed? I expect it to be FIXED not to be leaking like crazy the very next day. And that was a giant leak, not just a few drips on the ground. So I drove back to Rocky's, he lifted the car up, whips out his flashlight and tells me how he cant see anything and points out the corrosion on my shocks instead. But EVEN I COULD SEE IT DRIP! right in front of me. Pointing my finger at the leakage he just says "Well, yea... your transmission is leaking" Like it's the most normal thing in the world. The day before he clearly told me the opposite and now he simply states it as a fact. At that point he was still denying that this has anything to do with their labor but he'll see what he can do. I left the car there for another day expecting them to fix the leak. When I got it back he said it's gotten way better now. So I asked him what he did to fix it. And he said nothing, just kept it leaking, but its leaking less now. Wow, really.... Isn't that the law of physics? That if a container with fluid leaks at some point it won't leak anymore because all the fluid has run out? That fluid is supposed to be in there! So that's the professional mechanic you would get bringing your car there. Someone who's advice to fix something is to keep it leaking and a place where you get your car back in worse shape than when you brought it there. After spending the 1400$ all I got back is a car that I can't use anymore. Save yourself the bullshit and avoid this place. DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! read more
