We made a pit stop on the way back from S. Padre Island. Thanks to Yelp reviews we will took a chance and were so glad we did! The food was fresh and excellent. My husband liked that he was able to order sliders so he was able to try two types of burgers. He enjoyed both the sweet onion and mushroom pepper jack. Our kiddo enjoyed the kids menu and got exactly what she wanted too. I was skeptical of the fresh chicken salad but they allowed me a taste hooking me in. I enjoyed it on a warm croissant with fresh fruit. Yum! We will definitely make this our new stop between home and SPI. No more boring burger stops for us. read more

Great food and awesome environment. They have great burgers and ice cream floats and sundaes. It feels like you step back to the 50's. The staff is very nice and the place is very clean. This is hidden a little in robstown but totally worth the drive. Especially if you are at the fairgrounds then it's 2 miles down the road. Skip the chains and shop local. Foods good but bring earplugs!!! Loudest damn restaurant I think I've ever been in. Like the 50's music but too loud. As a consequence people yell to have conversations. What a find! We can officially stop complaining about the lack of a tasty lunch spot between Houston and South Padre Island. This is a stand up to order type place with diner feel and a drive through too. We all ordered the angus burgers and they were AMAZING. The bun was buttery, toasted and had a delicious sweetness to it. The beef was juicy and flavorful but not overly greasy. The fries were cut thick and fried just enough to be crunchy on the outside and soft in the center. My only suggestion is that they put a little more cheese on the big half pound burgers. The single little slice of American cheese barely covers half the meat. Definitely order double or triple cheese if you want to taste it. A great selection of bluebell ice cream for desert that they will make into a shake or Floats. A bunch of other stuff on the menu looked GREAT... Philly cheese steaks, turkey burgers, bacon burgers, sandwiches, and huge fruit cups.. We will have to go back for all that. Another bonus is they have that yummy sonic ice that is so perfect in a soft drink. Clean, friendly service, fast, and pretty cheap. About $7 for a burger/fries/drink combo that will make you full after eating half of it. But you will continue to eat until its gone because its soooo freaking yummy. And then you will return to the counter to order a shake. That will be delicious. And Don't think your too full and share a shake with a friend because u will regret it. The service over the phone was polite and reliable and delivery was prompt. What is best is how the my clients at the of the meeting, which I was unable to attend, enjoyed the food. Well have had both excellent experiences here as well as disgusting experience here. The chicken Cesar salad is to die for i love it this is the only place in Robstown that knows how to make a decent salad. The philli is delicious as well. I do think they are a little over priced but none the less its good the fruit cups are good and the ice cream portions are king size. Having said that i will never ever order ice cream from this place again. My boyfriend and i ordered a split, the presentation was nice and we got it quickly. But as soon as my boyfriend took a bite he found a press on finger nail in his ice cream..wtff! We told the guy tht was in charge and he just gave us a five dollar coupon...he didn't even offer to refund us our meal or anything.... ummm needless to say i will never get ice cream from here again. read more

Stopped here on the way from South Padre to Austin. It's great to find a halfway point for lunch that is clean, fresh, has a good variety of options, and (best of all) NOT a chain. Burgers and sandwiches were great (ask for lettuce and tomato on your sandwich if you want it). Fries were crispy and the fruit cups were very ripe and fresh. I've never once had bad service here and I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid. They're more expensive than Sonic but the quality is way better. The only complaint I have about this place is that I once had explosive diarrhea from their burger special that they sometimes have. We loved this place! My family needed a place to eat during a road trip, but had two small dogs with us. My mom found this restaurant on Yelp and called ahead to ask if we would be able to bring them in. The owner was super accommodating and allowed us to have them with us so we could all eat together. Thankfully, both dogs behaved! Food was great, service was awesome, and dessert was amazing. I wish we didn't live two hours away, but we'll definitely stop by on our next road trip. read more
