This is the worst Schlotzsky's I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. Their sandwiches and service at all other locations have been very good, but this one...ugh. We we're headed out of Corpus Christi, and I had a hankering for a hot cheese sandwich. This location is convenient to I-37 on the North end of the city, so we stopped here. I should have heeded the reviews. The girl at the cash register who took our order seemed to be new, because when I ordered a cheese sandwich with extra cheese, she seemed hesitant and confused. She had a pleasant demeanor, though. I told her it was the same thing as an original, but without the meat in it. I told her I wanted everything but onions and meat on it. This is not an unusual order and I've never had a problem at any other Schlotzsky's ordering an original cheese sandwich. She rang it up with a soda and a kid's pizza meal for my granddaughter. They gave us a number to put on our table and we sat down. We weren't sitting long when they brought our order out. That was good. My sandwich was an original with meat and hardly any cheese at all. No bueno. I immediately pointed this out to the woman who served us. She kind of hesitated, so I explained again that I requested no meat and had to tell her to take it back. She took it, but came back with a young guy who was either the manager or the cook. I had to explain it again to him that I wanted an original cheese with extra cheese minus onions. The young woman said they'll redo it and not charge me "this time" and walked of again with my sandwich. She was pretty frosty about it, as if I had deliberately ordered it wrong. Certainly no apology. Wow. In spite of the stupid dance, the sandwich was delicious. The bread was nice and spongy, not too hard on the edges. My granddaughter enjoyed her pizza, and my son liked his ginormous sandwich. The restaurant was pretty clean, so no complaints there. The bottom line is that we will likely not be back here again, because I really felt awkward about the whole thing. If you've never had Schlotzsky's before, please don't let a negative experience at this particular location put you off. This place is not typical of all the other Schlotzsky's I've been to. read more

We placed an order online for two smoked turkey sandwiches with extra turkey and extra cheese. There was no cheese at all on either sandwich. There was half of a tomato slice on one sandwich, no tomatoes on the other. The bread was so dry, we felt like we needed to drink extra water just to choke them down. Really disappointed. Picked up an original last Thursday evening at the drive up window and took it home. Started eating it and pulled a long hair out of my mouth. This was the second time I found hair in food from Schlotzsky's. Next day I took it back and two employees both told me they could not refund my money because the transaction happened the day before and it was no longer in their computer, even though I presented my receipt with the sandwich. If I couldn't agree with that, I would need to talk to the General Manager who, of course, was not there at that time. What kind of Customer Appreciation is that? A few things I would change, meat on my small fiesta chicken was severely lacking but tasted normal. My husband ordered a sandwich and saw the sing advertising making the Mac and cheese a side so he order a SIDE of brisket Mac and cheese for $7.99 which costed more than most of the sandwiches . ... it came out after the food and looked crap from the freezer section of Walmart and tasted worse. read more

Sure hope that someday after people have been on the job for a couple of weeks, can handle themselves without calling there manager to the front for everything. I just spent $12 on a small brisket sandwich combo for my hungry child. came with a bag of chips, a cookie, a drink, and the smallest amount of brisket you can fit on a 3" wide bun without it even poking out of the side of the sandwich whatsoever. what a pathetic attempt to pinch pennys by this location. the menu items look 10x better than what you actually get. if i had known that i needed to request for it to look like what's on the menu i would have, but it probably would have cost 4x as much because they portion out the brisket to some corporate specification that screws you for buying into the picture. there was a time when i worked at a restaurant where i was responsible for creating attractive looking food that was satisfying, filling, and great tasting. none of those things are in this sandwich. for $12 i could have bought enough brisket to make 40 of these "sandwiches". the ONLY reason this place gets 2 stars is because they can make a decent pizza now - but only after i had to bring one back for looking like a run-over, burnt tortilla with a half-assed attempt at minimal toppings. when this kind of thing happens i feel ripped off. i feel like i have been stolen from, and i feel bad for my child who finds this kind of crap food half way down the highway. this just goes to show that you should always check your food before leaving the drive through. i shouldnt have to sit there and inspect every item in the bag for decency. that kind of thing needs to be done by the people who i am paying my own hard earned to do it for me. this is theft. pure and simple. read more

Long waits usually. I only come here on my husbands request if he is stuck at work and needs me to pick up something. Today I got a kids meal for my daughter as well. Her sandwich had a toasted crumbly crust on top. She couldn't even eat it. She got 3 apple slices in a Baggie (not even sealed) they couldn't even cut up an apple right because she had part of the core in her 3 measly slices. (3 slices...really??)....a previous time I got her a pizza with a cookie. The people actually put the cookie right on top of the pizza...nothing in between. Her pizza tasted like cookie and her cookie was soggy and tasted like pizza. Laziness? No common sense? I hope management takes this review seriously and educates their employees. My one star review is not directed towards the chain because normally anywhere else everything is top notch...just this location. read more

Place is extremely overpriced for what it is.... $22 for a kids sandwich/drink, a wrap with nothing and a sandwich with nothing. Not to mention food is just par... This place is a JOKE! I never write negative reviews, only positive ones. I order my California Flatbread with no avocado or cilantro & easy on the sauce. The first time I ordered that, it was covered in cilantro & literally looked like the bottle of sauce exploded on my flatbread. It has just got worse from there. Got an empty box! No flatbread at all. Got only half a flatbread & when they remade it...once again, the jar of sauce vomited on my flatbread. I have received horrible customer service each & every time! Waiting at the window for 10 - 15 min with cashier MIA. Wondering if I was forgotten. Multiple times. I have been given the wrong soup with my grilled cheese, about a tbsp of soup, once & another empty container once. Everyone there acts like they want to put a gun in their mouth. Very pleasant. I have never in my life experienced this many mistakes & horrible customer service in any establishment. ESPECIALLY a Schlotzsky's. The last two I was used to, back in Longview & Tyler were exceptional & I never had mistakes...never. Not using that word lightly. I am writing a yelp review after this & calling corporate first thing Monday morning. This is ridiculous.
