We were seated quickly, but waited a while to get service. It was a Friday night and they were busy. Key stopped by to check on us even though we weren't in her section. She saved us from one of the semi-awkward tables by the pillar. She moved us to a booth in the window and was fantastic. She made sure we knew what we were ordering to meet our expectations and made excellent recommendations. It was clear that Key wanted us to be satisfied with our food and drinks. Now for the food, the steak bowl with chimichurri was delicious. The 7 N'A Half Seconds cocktail was also delicious. The bar was loud and tough to hear the musician on every song, but he was great too. Loved the decor and overall atmosphere. Be sure to stop in for some great drinks. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant that was part of a hotel. It's a casual Texas bar and the staff were friendly. I ordered the build your own bowl with steak, no rice, and extra veggies. It was pretty filling! The steak was so tender, which I guess since it's Texas they have higher standards for good steak. The bill came with an automatic 20% gratuity when I was eating alone. We order the queso appetizer and the local draft beer as well as micheladas. Everything was very tasty especially the queso. My mom enjoyed her Michelada as well. The service is very friendly. Where to start... 1. Walked and not greeted. We stood around, looking around... very acknowledged, until I finally asked someone if we should sit ourselves. The answer is yes. 2. Sweet tea... was not sweet. Good luck asking for a different drink, it took over 20 min for her to bring us a different drink. Rather, she was leaving against the bar chit chatting, after we asked for a switch. 3. I asked for the dressing on the side with a side of ranch, by salad was drenched in the lemon vinaigrette and no ranch. 4. The wings weren't served w ranch and veggies, despite the menu saying so. 5. Asked for no onions on our burger... came with onions. 6. Queso was lumpy and luke warm. Bad service, non attentive. read more

So first the restaurant is a cool little place and seems to be popular for happy hour. But for some reason it was a little show when I went last Thursday for dinner. The server was so nice and accommodating (I wish I remembered her name) and gave good recommendations. We shared an appetizer the green chile queso and chips which was pretty good. Then got the Pink Drink...which was very strong and I think my body was like enough and turned on me SMH! Then I had the sweet chili garlic wings and after eating the chips I was kind of full so I was only able to eat two and brought the rest home. I'm one for spicy but I think they were a little heavy handed with the spice on this batch so I couldn't even finish them. My friend got a burger and it was way too salty. So our amazing server offered free dessert. Again I wish I remembered her name) So all in all the food was okay and maybe it was an off day, but to be fair I'd try them again and update the review. read more

Stopped in for drinks around 3pm on a weekday. Atmosphere was fine, we sat at the bar. The bartender was nice although service was pretty slow despite it being pretty empty. Three drinks with tax was around $60. Strong drinks but overpriced for what we expected. This included an automatic service charge of 20% which I guess is not all that surprising since I learned it's part of the hotel. At that rate I assume that's my tip. read more

Wow, what an awesome bar with some real history! Live music, nice busy crowd, and despite it all pulled together some great food and efficient service. One free drink per night if you are a guest at the Adolphus hotel. Bar gets busier around 10pm. Lots of special events at the hotel have people start trickling in as the festivities die down.
